Sweet pistol. Nice shootin'. The 357 Magnum, likely my favorite pistol cartridge. Just doesn't get much better folks!! The right to bear arms shall not be infringed. We salute places like Texas, Arizona and other states that allow open and concealed carry, that American citizens can continue to enjoy their firearms and protect when necessary.
.357 seems like the most "practical" cartridge for the desert eagle, lets you take advantage of faster follow up shots. After all faster firing and capacity is why a person would choose this over a revolver. Also that recoil seems tame. Is it because of the combination of the dual operating pistons and the heavy weight of the pistol?
A lot of .357s are loaded for less recoil and with a wheel gun it doesn’t matter but won’t cycle in a gas operated DEP. Finding full powered .357 is getting harder. I have a .357 magnum DEP and love it but I have to only use certain brands of ammo that I know work.
niceguy60 the .357 was the first DEP to hit. It was a “proof of concept” then they moved to the bigger calibers. Many 1980s films with desert eagles tend to be the .357 version. Today’s movies tend to be the .50ae that many are used to seeing or reading about.
niceguy60 That's kind of strange considering that was it's original chambering. So you'd think that would make it more of a desert eagle than the other versions, that didn't come out until years later.
you might wanna keep that, it's a Mark I desert eagle in .357, the gun was actually made especially to shoot only this caliber. Made in the Us at first, then moved to Israel for the manufacturing. Refined the design for the Mark VII chambered in .44 Magnum. Then came back to the US, the Mark XIX was developed which shoots both .44 and .50AE with only having to change the barrel and the magazine.
are these MARK I pistols collectible or sought after for value? i have the chance to get one and want to know what these are worth. i can only find mark vii and xix
Anywhere between 1.3 to 2.3 grand depending on if it's used or not and what caliber it's in, .357 is the cheapest. Also the finish on the gun makes a huge difference in pricing.
I just bought a coonan 357 magnum auto. It functions very well also. However, I never shot the desert eagle in 357. I wonder if there's a big deference in accuracy and recoil...nice video by the way!!!
Nice shooting for free hand (no rest). What distance where you shooting from? I also have a DE357 Mark 7 & I think that's what your is. I shoot 25 yards from a bench with sandbags and get 1.5 inch grouping with a 2 power scope. But I reload my own ammo and it helps out a lot. You have to load them hot to get it to recycle and my loads are 125 JHP bullets (there a lot cheaper then 158JHP that's they recommended) with 2400 powder, work great for me. I have about 4000 round through the gun and I bought it used. GREAT VIDEO THANKS
great gun, good shooting too, but you shot the right lung bro not the left. (your left, his right) I think you convinced me to buy a 357 rather than the 50.
I liked this video, although i would recommend a better backstop because anything or anyone could be inside that cornfield, and you wouldn't want to be responsible for some freak accident.
its amazing how this gun made by desert eagle has made huge noise, because the coogan has made the same noise especially that of its price. but the DE357mgm. should beable to shoot 180 to 200 grain rounds. also make a duel round holder make it hold 13 to 15 rounds especially for the grain mentioned. They both created a new standard for the third most powerful handgun in the world. 4th if you add the 500 magnum, impracatical, but great for comic book films. Its a new standard lets keep it that way.
There are no restriction as to what type of ammo you can shoot out of the DEP. It's more of a question on what would cycle the gun, however, but pretty much any commercially available round is safe in that it won't blow the gun up.
2:15 l ... l love sound
Mark I and Mark 7 Desert Eagle models are awesome
that's the Mk1 model if i am not mistaken. they made the MK1 in .41 magnum for awhile before they discontinued it
I just love the Desert Eagle =P

The recoil is hardly more than a 9mm due to the gas system and weight of the pistol.
More practical yes, does it deserve the name desert eagle, no. Just buy a baby eagle instead.
My deagle is .44 and 50AE

I just joined the dessert eagle club with a l7 in 357 but it won't fire I'm getting very light primer strikes.Any advice out there?
My kinda of gun of all time...I luv the kick it has.
THE GRAIN I SHOOT IS 125 and 158.. WOULD I HAVE TO SHOOT 180 or 200?
Is it possible to convert the mark XIX 357 to a 44 magnum or even 50ae if you swap out the bolt and barrel?
No. The frame is lighter. Cant handle the larger calibers. Only the 44 and 50 are interchangeable on the heavier frames they come in
That baby you hear crying in the background is me ( wishing that gun was mine ) . 😁
i want to get a desert eagle, but i dont want to destroy my wrists, what version of the desert eagle should i buy?(357, 44, 50)
MysticVision
Get the airsoft ones
Start with 357. 44 and 50 AE are expensive and more power.
How much does one cost

Deangelo Mccauley I paid $1365 for my Mark XIX. I've seen them run as high as $1500 for the 50AE or the 44 Magnum here in Virginia
Picked up a blued Mk7 new in the box for 925 at a gun show yesterday in Alabama
why is yours stamped magnum research when it wasnt made here.
The patent is American, even if it wasn't manufactured in the US
Haha killed corn at 3:08

sure no one died in those corns?
That's why I shoot my Desert Eagle (44 Magnum) beyond a hill
yes, some substantial mound of soil to shield passersby from such a handcannon
great gun, good shooting too, but you shot the right lung bro not the left. (your left, his right)

Good shooting!
You need to work out on camera shooting. Not clean...... Or keep a cameraman..
nice gun.
