Hey man just ordered a carbon dinan intake and turbo inlet from dinan as well but found your video very helpful, got my oem intake removed and ready to install the dinan tmrw thanks to you, great video and knowledge my friend.
@willwarner1983 Glad to hear it helped man! Good luck on the install and enjoy those turbo noises!
Great vid on installing a CAI! I'm retaining the factory intake box, with a high-flow filter and an aftermarket intake pipe. Still have to replace the plastic intake inlet down the road with perhaps an aluminium one. I'm not thrilled about taking off the CCV hose lol.
Just take your time, good pair of pliers help just dont squeeze to hard. Once that time comes you will be fine!
You had to disconnect the big hose on the left side right? How did it connect back to the inlet??
Please respond as I’ve been trying to figure this out all day…
Or does that plastic piece stay on that is directly on the turbo and not the inlet goes on that?
I may be dumb….😂😂
I am not following, not sure what hose you are referring to. The only one that connects to the intake is the PVC hose.
@ alright cool, I was talking about the very wide hose coming down from the top of the motor to the turbo inlet (right before the turbo), wondering if that had to be disconnected to but it seems in your video that it doesn’t. It looks as if that plastic piece stays on the very beginning of the turbo inlet and the new piping connects to that. Correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks for the fast reply!
Just wanted to make sure I was ordering the correct parts.
@Retrosimatt yes that is correct buddy! Rock on
@ awesome man thank you! Took me a day of watching different vids till I came across yours. Super informative man, awesome job.
@Retrosimatt really appreciate that, thank you!
What’s the name of the goop you used as lubricant
You only need engine oil as a lubricant. I just have used that stuff for years, it is called transmission goo assembly lube.
looks like a MST clone... or just relabled. anyway... it is a very good intake with a lot of sound. you have to hear that in person.
Yeah, video doesn't do it much justice at all. Will work on trying to get some better sound clips of it.
Sounds amazing! What year is the car?
@@kc2213 Thank you, It is a 2020!
