Yes it was a campaign by the Batswana to build ourselves the Uni....it was called "motho le motho kgomo" meaning every individual contributes cattle towards achieving the then dream

Yes families did that when the diamonds had not yet been discovered.
The building BLock 247 was first built from 2007, it is the biggest building in the university. The swimming pool is not there for "chilling" is for PE students and its open to those people who want to learn how to swim, as well as ther external competition.The tuition is NOT FREE, you are given a loan/grant by the govt to go to school when you have passed at high school and you have to pay back part of the money when you start working. For those who are doing sciences like medicine they get a grant and dont pay back anything...lastly my favourite place and place of work- the library- that is one of the most resourced library in the whole of AFRICA. and the backbone of the UB. thanks for the vlog we appreciate.

Helen you open our eyes as Batswana,we tend not to appreciate what we have,thank you so much,you did not mention that food is. Free in the canteen for boarding students.
The food is good after a certain period they change caterers,they take good caterers,after tendering,
