    I'm just commenting on every video with arundhati Roy in it and spreading some love. Because there is too much hate among Indians for this woman for everything to be okay with our society.

    • @shaheer151
      @shaheer151 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That hate among Indians that you are referring to is a result of those 24/7 News Channels that spread Govt. propaganda for the rich and the powerful and their chamchas...who total around 200 million.
      ......the attacks on her from them are not surprising since she's trying to speak of human rights for the masses who are suffering .....who total around a 1000 million.

    • @shaheer151

      To subhankar dey : I don't understand what you are saying......you are misquoting me while you seem to be agreeing with me, yet you say ' shame on you '.... your post is confused and confusing
      Unless of course you are a ' troll ' and causing confusion is your agenda.

    • @shaheer151
      @shaheer151 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      subhankar dey.... Please read and write a bit more carefully. I did not say there are 200 million rich people in India.....please re read the sentence..... and try to understand what I said. The so called ' middle class ' according to Govt. stats and respected newspapers like The Hindu are estimated to be between 150 to 200 million......and I never used the word ' exploited '...so please stop twisting my words. What I said or clearly implied was that these so called ' middle class' Indians are usually in support of the Govt..... and I pointed out that A. Roy was addressing the needs of the masses who don't belong to that " Middle class ' .

    Hats off to this lady, her intellect, creativity and a powerful style of articulation. The way she has built-up her narrative, there is little scope for opposition or argument against the state of affairs she narrated. I am only reminded of Karl Marx who with all his concern for poor and romanticism with an ideal society, government wrote the DasCapital and died peacefully ! But his followers and so called leftist, communist, Maoist broke the heaven loose on millions of people. With all its shortcomings India is a functional democracy , with whatever pace it may be but surely changing the lives of people ! Public service is no longer a passion or selfless service but nevertheless few enterprising people enter public life and run the system to some order. Arundhati Roy talks against this system and has no qualms about the possibilities of being destroyed. All the movements or resisting groups can never be alternative to existing dispensations.
    So all the movements have to be built up within the parameters of existing systems, through debates, dialogue and perseverance ! Better she understands it..... Surely she might have understood it but self love, quest for glory & ego drives the people to unseen ends with blinkers on their eyes , not minding the trail of destruction they may leave behind.

      It's been 5 years since you posted this, so you might've changed your mind. But you're under a grave misapprehension if you think Marxism was a terrible influence. It made clear the role of capital in society -- it's a living breathing theory of life under Capitalism. Until then injustice was rife, workers were treated like scum, children had to labour. Marxism and communism gave hope to people, just like Capitalism did for a while under feudalisms and monarchies.

      Nothing has happened to change my mind from what I have said five year's back. In fact it's Arundhati Roy lost her relevance to social / public movements, she was reprimanded by apex Court of the country. Nevertheless she made some excellent writings ✍ in her inimitable style .
      Yes the Indian democracy and whatever the political system is on vogue has made rapid strides and education has become a movement, passion for Indian middle class and this force is propelling the Indian economy, living standards, mobility across the globe 🌎 to new heights ! Yes there should be some space for leftist thoughts, programs, movements etc but strictly within parameters of the system .

    • @ankushds7018
      @ankushds7018 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bbhusari Progress happens only amongst people that come under the system of democracy. If they are invisible, they'll be crushed. The Indian state is a coloniser. Just like the British. I mean, there was education even under the British -- but is being colonised and oppressed the cost we ought to accept for basic amenities!!? What is the education for? So they can be labourers who have no control over their work? So they can live their miserable lives of struggle just so their kids don't struggle as much? The kids, however, end up struggling any way! And they only way they can stop is if they manage to climb up to the middle class that have decent paying jobs... Jobs that are limited and only a minority can ever hope to get. Another way to free themselves is to become the oppressor in turn -- being a capitalist that owns their labourers -- to be a slave master.

      She is presenting herself as professor of democracy. But twisting the facts and creating an absolute false narrative. She is not saying hindus are the oppressed community from last 1000 years by Islamic kings and british raj. And still handling islamist terror.
      Istead she is telling as if hindus are the operessors. Then they devide hindus further while it is a stated fact in history written by themselves that killing Brahmin was a big project but this lady kabal project brahmins as oppressors. And calling India a hindu country as if it is an abusive word.

That would make the thugs and racists who run India now think twice before they do something bad to her to silence her. Those of us who don't have the courage she has, to stand up to wealth and power, should venerate people like Arundhathi and Nobel selection committee should take notice since that is the only hope for our world where evil (the Devil) is running wild.

Indian constitution is quite flexible, it was designed to be as such since day one. No one in India is ignorant of that fact. While Democracy is not a silver bullet, as far as India is concerned there is no viable alternative because of it's daunting diversity, linguistic, ethnic, cultural, religious etc.

    I'm equivocal about her views about our country functioning model, yes there is always yes to change in developing countries it's always better to have a critic like her, it deepens our understanding. so let her give freedom what ever she wants to say and after then we can draw our own conclusions, it's always better to have a voice rather than dead silence.

      critic is not an apt word for her. she has lost that long back. as per her narrative india is the worst place that can ever be. there is no dissent in india - while she continues speaking and there are people like you who echo with her openly. critizing my friend is healthy. she is schizophrenic.

    Sorry to butt in, but however said democracy is what US pushes? Democracy is what developed in collective West over a period of 800 odd years (beginning in England with the signing of Magna Carta) which simply believes that power should not be in few hands. US can call itself whatever... A, B or C...whatever. Besides, each country will develop it's own unique forms of democracy. The idea is that it should be participative governance.

    Arundhati Roy is the voice of hate. She has a good command over the English language and speaks eloquently so she can package hate and sell it to the upper middle class who is her bread and butter. She identifies with movements based on hate. She interprets events so that she can continue to hate and others can continue to hate. The more established her enemy, the more likely it is going to endure, the better it is for her hate. You need what you hate to exist in order to hate it.

    Everything she says is subjective without much factual backing. when questioned about facts, most of her answers start with 'if you see'. She has made her life and career out of speaking ill about her own in every global platform she has been while praising its undemocratic neighbours. She is communist intellectual who sees india as an oppessor. She wud be very happy to see india disintegrate into 300 princely state. She cannot bear the fact that India is being taken seriously in global geopolitics. She has been this way in any government, she spoke agains india during congress time also. She suffers from some childhood psychological trauma as her parents were separated and she may have faced some social problems in a conservative malyali neighbourhood where she was raised by her single mother. She blames the INDIA for that trauma, thats the core nature of socialism, they manage to blame anything for their problems. Com on Arundhati, grow the fuck up, we all have faced problems in childhood, some were bullied, some faced corporal punishment, some were abused.... DON'T BLAME THE INIDAN STATE FOR THAT.
