Cuba still striking fear in the sport of boxing
Yep can't remember the last time we beat a Cuban on the world stage. Coe got an early stoppage against La Cruz and has been in jail, and our best fighter Keyshawn can barely beat the top level amateurs. Rooting for him in Tokyo but man these Cubans are good.
@@acetofresh1 the sport is nationalized and the same curriculum is taught. Coaches have to have a min MS in sports science and kids start as early as 8 years old training.
@@datawolf2318 Very interesting, I am piqued by the Soviet/Cuban boxing systems.
@@acetofresh1 yes! My grandfather is from Cuba but he left before the program was implemented. I learned the style its very rooted in the basics but the footwork is advanced and the conditioning is insane. The Soviets taught the style to the cubans and they modified it.
