Edelweiß is an alpine flower that often grows on dangerous cliffs. Back in the day, it was picked for a loved one as a symbol of love and bravery or displayed on a uniform for the same reasons
Yes, Edelweiss beer comes from Austria. There is also another Edelweiss, a sister company of the Swiss airline, both are subsidiaries of Lufthansa. But actually Edelweiss is a plant that grows in the Alps :-)
Generally those lists like to mix Austrian and German music together. One could argue that the songs use the german language, but some of them are actually in english so the argument doesn't really hold. Of course songs based on something like Edelweiss which is geographically located in the overlap between Germany, Austria and Switzerland could be found in any of those countries. Keep in mind that countries are just man made borders. Traditions are regional and they don't care about borders.
@@Bunny99s What? Its just about them being produced/located in the DACH region and most likely to include people like Falco and Switzerland for fairness just exists, but I don't think anybody comes from there which is really famous in that video, no?
7:44 Edelweiss is a flower that grows very high in the Alps. This plant is also called the killer plant. In order to win over a woman, they climb the mountain to give the flower to the woman of their dreams. Unfortunately, many young men lose their lives because they fall from the mountain, which is why Edelweiss is called the killer plant.
Nino de angelo made great lyrics... political... love... people etc... very heartfelt... in the 80's. Beyond Eden, which runs for 3 seconds here... was the breakthrough with a profound, sad text about humanity... he also sang it in English. He is of Italian descent, but sang in German and later also Italian
Greetings and Love & Happy Hanuka from Cologne, Germany again. Damn, you've scared tha hell out of me, cause imidently after Nino de Angelo appeared on the screen, you suddenly jumped outta your seat with a Rebel Yell while leaving short the room. I was like: "..whaaath da fack, theres no way that he know Nino de Angelo. Häääh." As you explained the other 'Nino' and showed a pic of him, damn, that was weird. So, here is a littl of what i know. 'Nino de Angelo' is his stage name. I know that at the beginning he just called himself simply 'Nino'. How the 'de Angelo' came along later, I have no clue. He was born in Karlsruhe/Germany under the name "Domenico Gerhard Gorgoglione". Yes, he is of Italian origin, his parents are from Puglia/Apulien. Great reaction, buddy, like always. Stay safe🎉
@GerMauro exactly, no you don't..and this unimportant nonsense buzzed in my head since yesterday, serious. As i woke up one thing poppt in my mind right away. This here: "damn, i would like to know if the german Nino knows bout the italo Nino..and vice versa. ☺
I’m just 20 but I know all these songs. It’s not necessarily about age. Sure I didn’t know them when they were popular but in the end it’s about music appreciation not age
If you want to check out some good yodeling music, try Franzl Lang or Takeo Ishii - Takeo Ishii (or Ischi) is a japanese Yodeler who lives in germany since like the 80's just to do yodeling. Franzl Lang was his teacher.
You should react to Was Soll Das with Herbert Grönemeyer, but you need to read the translated lyrics to get the fun of the song. The same for his Männer sing. And yes Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung with Any of their songs.
Nino de Angelo or Nino d'Angelo - who cares. But I wonder if you know how popular and admired Eros Ramazzotti is here in Germany, from the 1980s till today.
The Omen Part 1 and Part 2 from Mysterious Art! Please react.... This was my Disco Time Also all Songs from Boney M. (Maybe Rasputin). Sandra Maria Magdalena
Nino De Angelo is actually half italian. But this list makes no sense. Roland Kaiser should have easily been in the Top 5 of 1980 with "Santa Maria", also Mixed Emotions had a much more successful song in 1987 compared to "Bring Back" which was called You Want Love (Maria, Maria).
Haven't you heard. Roland Kaisers cover version of Oliver Onions Santa Maria was put on the index in 2019 due to strongly approving sex with minors. Just kidding.
generally good: Falco Neno Peter Schilling Alphaville Clowns & Helden Heinz Rudolf Kunze depending on the song: Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung Jürgen von der Lippe Klaus Lage Döf Kiz (New German Wave) Geier Sturzflug Spider Murphy Gang Trio Mike Krüger not a fan of the remaining "songs"
German language music in the 80ies was such a rediculous, provincial crap...wow...there is just and only Falco from Vienna that is the only artist worth to be remembered...
