Would the riders consider bitless? I know it's not medieval or whatever, but it causes pain in their sensitive mouths. Bless! "Alpha" horse.. how about leader?
Wrong saddles and I'm questioning the breeds being used here. Destriers and Coursers were not draft breeds, they were much smaller. There is plenty of evidence to suggest a modern andalusian cross breed is the closest match to a Destrier. I'd say the Icelandic horse is a modern palfrey and a modern charger or courser somewhere in the middle.
Their helmets aren't optimal too. These guys seem to be wearing armets/close helmets which were mainly used in warfare, frogmouth helmets would be a lot safer as they were specifically made for jousting.
My guess would be because draft horses are larger, and can therefor carry more weight. i imagine an adult in armor with weapons is pretty heavy, especially if they want to add more barding to the horse.
@@wasabibird_4246 medieval warhorses weren't larger than modern riding horses. I suppose that in this tournaments, draft horses are used to make the rider appear more flashy.
@@brandenr5937 we are talking hundreds of years ago before America was was founded... you never had knights... i know how america was founded. they have their own identity now if they decided to stay part of the empire then fair enough but they didnt.
I wish I could do this sport but I'm just a humble peasant lmao
Maybe we peasants worldwide should unite and buy an armor that we will all wear for once.
If this sport had better production and marketing this could be a billion dollar sport easy.
Nah.... They gonna ruin it like they did to fencing
Horses are gorgeous!
I wouldn't be a Knight without my horse.
This is actually surprisingly interesting

They are using wrong saddles. There should be high back-support. But maybe these guys wants to fall from the horse.
There's prob a reason why and you just know it

Technically our ancestors were knights too. How do you think America was found?
