Less rope at the toss will allow faster draw back. Just like roping, you only want to let out enough for the catch.
Fun video… that reminds of my summers as a kid playing in the creek. As a youngster I wrote to various state game and fish and they would send you all kinds of information on native fish. Not sure if they still do that. Really like seeing the different species. I did feel sorry for the gar but it is the whole circle of life thing and I’m really happy you gave it a chance. Thanks for sharing
Ftrr church onba Sunday morning, I'd rather watch families spending time together and animal videos than anything else. Thanks for all the fun family videos! Love watching the improvements you've done over the years and the fact that you spend more time with your kiddos than probably half the dad's in the US is pretty awesome. Most kiddos can't say they fish with their dad on a summer afternoon where you get to see the aftermath of a flood. Happy trails and safe travels through the creek n woods yall!

If you want to be able to see what's below the water's surface you need to get a polarizing filter. It takes two stops, but when you're shooting in the sun you've got the exposure latitude. They are a little pricy, but well worth it. It will also increase your color saturation and contrast on large scenics.

If you ever run into that gar, again, try feeding it a creek chub. As a matter of fact, putbit in Houston's bass pond (by your house) and keep it as a pet...maybe. I wonder if you could superglue a splint to it's lower jaw.

It’s hotter than the blazes here in southeast washington state too. We don’t have the humidity though so you’ve definitely got us there. I feel for y’all. Thanks for taking us to the creek this afternoon. That was good fun! Huston is doing great with that net!! He’s come a long way from when he started, I sure couldn’t do that lol. I absolutely LOVE the life your kids live as well as you and DeJay. A lot the way our kids was raised , ours was cows, hay field on red river. HD a creek on one side of our house and pool on other or what some call small lake. My husband and I was raised in different counties but both on Red River too. An education like no other. Way to go Arms Family.

Hi men, I had to google the difference between a long eared sunfish and a pumpkinseed because I thought for sure you caught a pumpkinseed. I was in error. That gar was probably laying in the sun to try to heal. Most animals do that.

Good thing he's a gar with an off set jaw. My daughter got braces $5,000, but once her teeth we straight lol her bite didn't match up just like the gar. $65,000 to have it fixed! Praise the Lord for ins. Love this video

Hey good next year cast net catch fresh Gulf shrimp to eat boil shrimp
Go get the tractor and tow strap and drag the tree / blockage out of the creek. That's good content buddy
If you wanted to do it, the more quicker Efficient way I would take and put some tuna some Jack macrell some cat food. Some dog food out there in a spot. Wait 5 minutes, then cast that over and at 5 minutes time. That oil from the bait you put out there while attracting them. They come up there, you cast net them. And you got your whole selection right there in one cast net.

I’m not positive, but I think the baby bass was a largemouth, and the bigger one was a spotted because the largemouth his jaw on the bottom went past his eye
