@@MattWhitingsEurope I'm Finnish and I'm pretty sure that a place like that should have first aid equipment. This sort of tourist destinations have a lot of temporary workers during the summer, so one possibility is that if they haven't been working there very long yet, they may not remember where everything is. They *should* know but sometimes things don't go the way they should, unfortunately. I'm glad to hear that everything worked out in the end.
So, how did the castle feel? ;) Moments like this makes one wonder how such occurence would have been dealt with at the time the castle was first built. And other wounds and medical situations. How lucky we are to have public healthcare.
Not without a crash helmet on! Never argue with a wall, they're tougher than they look. I visited Pori on my last trip to Finland and enjoyed my day there, video is here if you're interested --> th-cam.com/video/tDGXZPkcbvI/w-d-xo.html
This video is good reminder me that people are weaker than i keep thinking, do to how often i get hurt and wont even get anything from them... But glad your okay and it wasent anything, well too serious.
I think there is a slight mark but it’s above the hairline so thankfully not noticeable. Lucky I was wearing a cap otherwise it would have been even worse.
That would have been 25€ or 30€ if raise already happened. But with brits out of Eu you don't get local prices anymore. And that same 25/30€ is for everything, from small cuts to bloodtests and x-ray. Public healthcare is very cheap long as you don't have stay over night.
The UK has a reciprocal health agreement with Finland hence why I was able to use the Finnish healthcare system as if I were a local. I was very impressed though. In the UK I'd have been stuck in the hospital accidents and emergency department for 4-5 hours so to be in and out inside 2 was very impressive.
The fee is really more for trying to dissuade people from going there unnecessarily than it is about covering the real costs. If you really can't afford it, you can get an exemption on the fees. Staying overnight isn't that expensive either, in fact it's probably less than a tourist would pay for their accommodation.
I did wonder if that was the case. Sounds sensible. I know in the UK we have a big problem with people making appointments and then not turning up - I should imagine the fee encourages people to cancel it properly if they can’t make the appointment meaning someone else can have the appointment.
Hitting your head seriously and getting it quickly fixed and jumping to have a car trip might not be what the doctor would have suggested..? :/ You might have had a concussion that would have still start to act up while you were driving (being danger to you and the others on the road) and (alone) be farther from the hospital. And you certainly should not have been alone next night without anyone check on you regularily. :/
I guess that's one of the downsides of travelling solo. The doctor said he didn't see any signs of concussion at the hospital and told me to keep an eye on it for a few days. I had information on what signs to look out for but thankfully never experienced any of them. Had I of felt unwell of shown signs of concussion I wouldn't have driven on because the last thing I would want to do is put myself or anyone else in danger. I live to tell another tale!
He is not a finnish citizen so he has to pay it himself. Still 40€ for the whole thing is nothing in some other country that would have cost several hundreds just because the doctor time.

Some might say it knocked some sense into me! All good now thankfully.
I'm extremely glad it wasn't more serious. Do you now have a permanent scar to remind you of the debacle?
Sorry for your head
Thanks! All patched up and ready to go again!
Hitting your head seriously and getting it quickly fixed and jumping to have a car trip might not be what the doctor would have suggested..? :/
You might have had a concussion that would have still start to act up while you were driving (being danger to you and the others on the road) and (alone) be farther from the hospital.
Such medical care MUST be provided FREE of CHARGE!Finland has sunk completely...
That's the same the Finns pay for their "free healthcare." Why should foreigners have it free?
however, we have not sunk into a terrorist state...
@@peketee2278 Well, now you are under the flag of the Fascist Cross. So we went back to 1940.
He is not a finnish citizen so he has to pay it himself. Still 40€ for the whole thing is nothing in some other country that would have cost several hundreds just because the doctor time.
