I never understood what the point is, and the most of dance schools learn you a ton of figures. I stopped to go at the schools for this reason, and I realized that, you need just a crossbody, a 360, and copas and a little bit of musicality, more easy and the dama always smile 😃 😊 😀

You make a valid point… i think the need is vocabulary…. But you acquired tons of that vocabulary… you realize the simplest things are where the pleasure at;)

@@SalsaBailaProductions 100% agree, I have been in many schools, to do just private lesson with my wife, and my first question is always "can you show me some moves on the music", and the most of the teachers tell to me "Yes, but you must to learn a 360 with you right hand, or a Copa with a hammerlock....".I became disappointed and stopped to go to the class for this reason..

I'm happy to read something like that. this is one of the most important basics. It is much more important to adopt a behavior instead of learning a new figure every lesson. Most people don't dance anyway because there is too much input at once. You can see that with the old mambo dancers. Few movements but perfected in body and soul. Working on your behavior is harder than hiding behind characters.

Can you explain Girl's Left Turn in more detail. It seams that everybody is doing it differently. Also depending on how you hold the girl. On 5 some move the hand outside to wind her, while others push or pull on 5 depending which hand is used. This is all very confusing. It would be easier to have one simple rule that applies always no matter how you hold the girls. And for now that would be to move hand(s) outside on 5 to wind her body while she is keeping her left leg straight straight.
