If Wink leaves, within a year or two he'll be wishing he didn't. He's not winning anything with those teams that want him in the NFL. I hope he realizes all that he can accomplish and go down as a Michigan legend if he brings another championship to the university.
Vic fangio is the highest paid defensive coordinator at 4 million . Wink makes over 2 at Michigan so what’s the most an nfl team would offer wink .. 3 million ? Michigan could get crazy and just match it. I don’t see why not
That’s great, assuming $$$ is the reason he’s interested. I truly hope he enjoys the mentoring role with up and coming NFL players at UM and that also counts!
@@ddavis1786the whole reason he’s looking at NFL is $. It’s always money my friend. The ONLY coach I can think of that wasn’t about money was the GOAT Jim harbaugh himself. Not every coach is harbaugh.
I hear you guys and to quote Wink a year ago he said “if they back up a Brinks truck of $$ I’d be crazy to turn it down” or words to that effect. If that’s the deal I’m guessing UM could match any offer if they wanted to. Would be intrigued by LB coach Larry Foote from Tampa Bay Bucks , who has 10 years of NFL experience and I believe is a UM Alum…
Love what Wink’s done and hope he stays, as Sherrone seems to have given him free rein, which some NFL coaches clearly have not, explaining the “head butting” you noted, TJ. If he leaves God bless him, but I’d love to see UM snag Tampa Bay 10-year veteran LB coach Larry Foote, who’s under Todd Bowles and who’s son, Troy comes to UM as a LB. Could it be perfect synergy and a smooth transition?
I told y'all to slow up on the Wink hate halfway through the season. I think I gave him a B+ or B while a lot of folks were tossin out D's and F's. He just had to acclimate to the college game and get the Giants out of him. My gut says he stays but he might need a pay bump.
For all the people who trashed Wink early in the season for blitzing too much thanks for driving him away. He had to put up with a lot of crap from people who know a whole lot less about defense than Wink.
I hope Wink comes back. If he does come back, UM needs to have him train his replacement. Lastly, WHY would he want the Falcons job. Falcons are the Jets of the South.
@LarryMcDonald-wg2ty retreads and up-and-comers are always a part of the yearly coaching carousel in the NFL. Sherrone will start to GET ON THE RADAR as an up-and-comer, obviously. Dew fuss.
This jobs means something to Sherron’s don’t you remember him crying tears of joy after his first couple games coaching? Talking about how much he loves this team and school with tears in his eyes! That dude isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
Doesn’t matter if he goes. Sherrone can go big game hunting because every DC has gone on to bigger and better things. He will pick another up and comer from the Raven pipeline and we will be just fine.
The end of the season was great but the rest was sub-par, even the defense. At no point before the Northwestern game did the defense look very good, let alone dominant. So ok, he goes from a D grade to a B-. As the "OG" of the defensive system that won us a championship and 3 trips to the Final Four, Wink has been entirely underwhelming. He's also old, crusty and an NFL guy at heart. Let him go. Please find a young guy from the NFL, the "next Minter".
I don’t believe Wink is going anywhere, he’s too old to be a good hire , face it age matters and GM’s want younger coordinators that can become Head Coaches, Wink doesn’t fit that mold .
You'd think Wink was a cop the way he handcuffed Jeremiah Smith
Idk, he had a td and maybe more if it hadn’t been for 2 DPI penalties
@@Jleed989his TD was thanks to OPI of the year 😂

And a Michigan man
Awesome suggestion
Robert Livingston is a D-back coach and a experienced coordinator. The Deon move might shake out some talent there?

I highly doubt that’s what is driving him away if he goes.
Hopeful Wink stays…lucky to have him and grateful for those OSU and Alabama defensive masterpieces.
Right now for Martindale the best chance he has to be a part of something special before he retires is right where he is at.
I think Chris Hewitt is the guy to hire. Ravens passing game coordinator, knows the system and is ready for a promotion
I hope Wink comes back.

Falcons are the Jets of the South.
One more good season, and Sherrone will will wind up on the radar of the NFL. 〽️ichigan is Development U for players AND coaches.

@@937jmoney3 true. But the NFL is always going to be a lure in the football world.
I didn't want Harbaugh to leave but the NFL interviews were hurting recruiting. We need him to shit or get off the pot this week.
There's plenty of talent on defense, all they need is someone that knows the scheme.
Bring in Larry Foote.

Why they think about Espeseto
Doug Mallory
If wants to go the NFL go! He was carried by 3 maybe 4 first round picks on Defense.
He gone 😂
You think a team rebuilding wants a guy in his 70s to do it ?

Interviewing doesn’t mean anything. Waiting for real news
Interviewing with two, maybe three nfl jobs and teams having interest elsewhere is newsworthy imo
