Absolute joy of a video again at Holts. The amount and scale of guns for sale is mind blowing and the quality of the guns you have shown shows how well these firearms were made. I was lucky enough to pick up a Spanish side plate SXS on the no reserve auction a few months ago and I must say that the service from the team at Holts was exceptional considering how busy they must be during sale time. The bidding process was a breeze, payment and despatch was wonderfully easy with no hassle whatsoever. Believe me I've ordered wardrobes for delivery that nearly gave me a nervous breakdown!! Great vid as usual and a great big thank you to the team at Holts!!! Well done!
I would buy a second hand John Dickson round action side by side, if I had the money to do so. They're beautiful. I would prefer one with tight chokes. That's wouldn't be a problem since I'm planning on using BioAmmo Blue cartridges on my old guns from the 1980s. Only problem is... even if I had the money to buy one, they're not common in Portugal, unfortunately.
You remind me of the original "Q" in the Bond films. His passion for the technical aspects, operation, & details, are matched by his love of interesting, functional & elegant machines. He was the best part of those movies until his departure, working as a bond film constant/standard, well into his later years.

@@marcgraham412 i was at a pheasant shoot last weekend and all the younger guys like myself were sporting semi auto 12 gauges with extended mag tubes. Im a novice but when i was a kid it was a much different experience. Maybe the whole world is just getting trashier.
I sit here watching with interest knowing I can't afford anything here, and knowing I am not in a position to deal with the pain in the neck of getting any of them imported, (In the good ol' US of A, so can own with no problem but the import thing is a bit of a pain.)

Your FA ticket is essentially your license to possess shotguns? Do you need to get an endorsement for every additional or are you licensed and can then buy as you want ?
In the UK you have a shotgun certificate (covers single and double-barrelled shotguns or shotguns with a magazine capacity not exceeding 2 cartridges), and a Firearms Certificate (generally covers .22 rimfire semi auto rifles, bolt/lever action centre fire rifles in other calibres and higher capacity pump action/semi auto shotguns). (I've not covered everything above, it gets complex). Obtaining a shotgun certificate is much less onerous than obtaining a FAC, and the storage/security/ammunition requirements are generally less restrictive.
@jacklurcher5813 I'm in South Africa. We have a license application for every firearm, every time. Onerous is an understatement my last application was around 70 pages. For us it's by section 13 for self defense, 15 for dedicated hunter 16 for dedicated sport. We then have a competency qualifying test for 4 different types. Handgun shotgun rifle and self loading ( semi ) Your system sounds like what we'd like to see here. The person get licensed, and the firearm gets registered to the person. Depending on the the types you have various requirements.
Love your videos, however, the one thing that sort of grinds my gears is when you say 12, 20 or 28 bore. I mean for a gun nerd of your calibre ( and I mean it as a compliment) it’s unacceptable. With the exception or .410 all others are gauges. 😊😊
Who the heck said you can buy an AYA .410 in Canada for 400$? AYA guns typically go for 4000+ here. They may have been thinking of one of the various. 410 folders maybe.
1898 marlin Besides the Damascus the manual of arms is a bit unsafe by modern standards. I have one sitting from 1908 with the letter from marlin saying …yea we suggest not using it
Why would one simply hang a repro Brown Bess over the hearth??? Take it out for a nice walk and do some fowling with. 70-grains 2F black powder, same of corn-welt (Cornmeal), 1 to 1-1/8 Oz. shot (dealers' choice) and an overshot card wad (made from old playing cards) and Bobs your uncle. If you haven't you need to at least once. ^~^ The Parker sleeved double in .22-Hornet with 45-grain OT bullets is a great small game rifle and easily found and or handloaded for.

No limit on purchasing shotguns. But there can be a limit on your storage/security you are allowed in your home
Within limits yes. And you have to record the guns you buy and sell with the police. It’s not the same for FAC shotguns.
