  • In this BabylonJS, we create our first BabylonJS project. We create a host HTML document, create an instance of our 3D engine, create a scene and a camera and a cube to render.
    The text version of this tutorial is available at:

    You got talent in teaching. Very friendly, simple and at the time, professional.
    Enjoyed and learned.
    It seems BabylonJS is really easier and more professional than ThreeJS!
    Thank you.

    I'm a web programmer but never for games. Always for business applications and reports.
    I have always been a game player and I am Retiring my job in 2 weeks and starting to look into writing web based games and discovered this tutorial. Well done sir. Subscribed

    Very awesome!!! Hoping you continue tutorials on BabylonJS all the way up to doing physics, etc. There aren't any books with examples in them out there for those who desire to go from beginner to advanced game programmer. Actually, very few books at all on BabylonJS exist. The one or two that do, aren't really very good at conveying this kind of information, and are far from thorough in explaining the why of things, not just the 'how'.
    Keep up the excellent work!!

    just to note: if you are experienced in apps and server side scripting, i recommend setting up an electron window (with nodeintegration enabled and contextisolation disabled) and then just requiring @babylonjs/core instead of importing it from a cdn. this is good because in vscode, the intellisense is really good so it gives you a description and better intellisense about everything you're coding.

    Liking the tutorial dude but you def don't need the "ONContentLoaded" listener. This code gets run, after all, didn't you event listener initialize?

    When I try this, I just get a blank (white) screen; I completely copied the code in it's entirety from the text version; has the library been updated since this video so that it doesn't work now? Or am I missing something?

      I commented out "scene.clearColor = new BABYLON.Color3.white();" and it's fine now.
      Also watch out on the functions - everything is case sensitive! I'm so sad coming from SQL.

    An introduction should explain the tools used and how to run it into the browser. Getting the project from babylon and setting it up.
    You start by writing html files.

    there is no debug process in between? it's like write 50 lines code... if it works fine, but if not, how do you know which line is wrong???

      Use Typescript, normal JavaScript has pretty terrible error handling

    Worked great! Except that the URL you used as the source didn't work for me, maybe because it's from 2016? Instead I used the one listed on the Babylonjs website: cdn.babylonjs.com/babylon.max.js. I like your simple and direct style of teaching.

    Hello sir. I am a new user of Babylon.js. I have a project to show the co-occurrence network like this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Co-occurrence_network in 3D. but, I don't know how to do it. It will be very helpful if you have any ideas to show me how to do this.

    • @gamefromscratch
      @gamefromscratch  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is probably the best example right now.
      www.eternalcoding.com/?p=113
      Chances are it's ShaderMaterial you want:
      doc.babylonjs.com/classes/2.3/ShaderMaterial
      I will probably cover this as part of the series.
