I did over 150 coursera certificates and I am still stuck on my current job over 6 years, no promotion at all (although my colleagues that I outperform by a lot got promoted), I also did not get interview what so ever, I am thinking to just quit, rest for 6 months and start applying again
@@DataEngineerAcademy I am a fast learner, I can learn any new technology quickly because my background was in CS. However, right now I am not working with most of the technologies being asked for, I am still working with C#, SQL Server, and Azure data factory/SSIS, it's an ETL not demanded by Amazon or MSFT or Netflix or any good paying company. How to break from this cycle? Do I list Pyhton and Airflow on my resume even though I am not using, I know I can build projects on airflow quickly if I wanted to learn it
I am working for FDOT about a year now as a data engineer, My first data engineering job. Solo engineer in the entire department. I am lost. Thank you so much for all the videos. I am looking to get out of here.
Thanks for your sharing your testimony working in the industry. In my undergrad at UA I took courses in AI and worked on a, then, early AI model called OSCAR with Dr. John Pollock. Programming in LISP. 😂 Recently, I've been working as a contract program analyst, I was earlier about to become a law school student but from family choices at the time, went to work as a p.a. instead. Ended up ten years later with a MS in Intelligence Analysis and almost a BS in CS, but I'm currently essentially unemployed, with one client, looking to find job placement in data science, BI, PA, etc. Really needing mentorship and help now, labor market's rough!
I'm a current Undergrad student in Engineering Technology Specializing in Machine Learning and Design Techniques and Software development. Are Data Engineers in high Demand? Is the job description similar to Data Science and Machine learning engineering? Those are the 2 fields I am pursuing.
So what you are saying is that this is the best time for me to switch to learning AI/ML . I am a Sr Software Engineer with many years of experience and been thinking about this decision for sometime now
This is a great time to just learn either data analyst or data engineer skills. No need to jump to AI and ML. There are a LOT of open jobs in both fields.
Hi, Thanks for sharing your testimony. I have been trying to make a transition into a data science role, coming from a core telecom background, how can I make the transition, kindly advise .
I have spoken someone today about doing this. I haven’t received any email that he said he going to send me. I want to see what other payment plans you guys got to offer. He told me it can cost between 5k-15k
Hi Jack, Chris told me to reach out to you in regard to this, kindly send me your full name and email, I would be very glad to send this to you! Regards, Olivier from the Data engineer academy!
Hey Data , really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail and also help you with the overall youtube strategy and growth ! Pls let me know what do you think ?
Well done, thanks for sharing, refreshing, honest. I thought Data Engineering had been around for a long time. There's some fud about AI taking over DE and SWE, and other roles for that matter. I didn't know DE was still in its infancy because it is about data cleaning and databases and the duties are clearly defined from what I see on job descriptions. Some people speculate DE used to be the job of a SWE but now we have AI, SWE will have more time on their hands and SWE will end up absorbing DE. I also see in come companies, DE and DS are merged (maybe in smaller companies) - if someone's title is DS, they may be doing a lot of DE. What is your take on the above? Thanks
So what do you think are the skills or knowledge companies expect to you know be a person 'in demand' (its very confusing as to what should I study or know to land a job)
Thanks for sharing your experiences!
You guys in the US live in a different world.
You might begin to understand if you ask yourself, "If I lived in a world with no computers, what would cause me to invent one?".
Thank you so much for this video, very insightful
Glad it was helpful!
I’m joining got a talk with Benjamin tomorrow
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!

DE is different but same data family - very hgih demand w AI booming though

I would look into data analytics or data engineering. I feel data scientists may be impacted by AI.

How can i get started?
Did you end up getting started?
@metalmagex no. Tech field has gotten really bad. Many layoffs.
First how di i even land a job in tech.
Can you please give your feedback on how ai is affecting de jobs
DE is becoming more in demand to build the infrastructure for AI
@@DataEngineerAcademy does it mean that data scientist will be in demand after DE ?
I can’t even get an interview
dont give up. but also experiment with different resumes and strategies
Definitely somthing wrong with ur CV
