Thank you 💛 for this excellent documentary. I enjoyed watching all the planning that went into this, on both sides of this crime. In the end both criminals were caught. It just goes to show you that crime doesn't pay. Even if you're a genius, you have to calculate how many years you are willing to spend behind bars if you are caught.

Just thinking that the procedure for all armored trucks picking up and delivering money can change nationwide.
For example, only allowing marked law enforcement vehicles in the lot or vicinity during pickup and drop-off.
Used to know a person who worked for a security outfit. While one company closed down the gate to the store, a second security outfit watched on the side. Happened to be in shopping area and witnessed the security procedure of which I asked and he explained. Now, I understand the importance of why.

this type of crime has been basically eradicated in So. America...the armored car is never alone, a car with four heavily armed guards follows it always. When they get to a stop the guards from the following car get out first, they take positions and stake out the perimeter BEFORE the courier is allowed to open the armored car door.

My father was a special agent in boston then in portsmouth. The killings in NH were special to him as he was familiar with these sad families from Charlestown so he worked close with Cullen who i think was in portsmouth also. All the stories of my childhood make sense when watching this.

It seems like a good idea for armored cars to have 3 guards- one driver, one courier and and one armed lookout for when the courier was opening the back of the truck.

Somehow we always have additional armed and at the ready guards with every cash in transit van. I don't say we don't have heists but it's so much more difficult. And takes really big number of people and bombing.

Even nowadays (with ALON etc. on the market) the armoured cars dont (atleast 30 yrs. ago) use the "real deal" armoured glass with polyurethane in between the layers of glass (since the WW2 the tanks etc. were equipped with that and it's about 4-5 inch thick and weights like a motherf*cker) and it does withstand those real .50 AP-rounds (which are coated with steel and made of aluminum; unlike those led toyrounds with a copper layer on top that are sold to amateurs because they go through the A1- toy vest. The armoured glass used contains layors of glass and polycarbonate so the result = these ler projectiles will go flat like piece of gum and the window shall not fragment into pieces. PS. I have been part of military in Finland since 2008 so i might know something - as well that my english is not 100% fluent so sorry about that :) By the fay: why they even use those armoured cars? Would it not just be so much easier to camouflage the operation to appear like a staff member is getting home from work with his gym bag or whatever and drive a regular car into the bank? No one is going to think that the owner of a 10 000€ piece of junk car drives with 300 000€ in his trunk? .....just saying - did this ever occurred in anyones mind?

All that's needed to stop a locked vehicle's motor : plug the exhaust pipe with anything that can be found nearby.. mud, large branch, potato, tennis ball etc. It's faster than waiting for a key to unlock the door.

    Romans 13:3-4
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to wrath on him who practices evil.

They didn't have to unlock the armored car to shut it off. All you have to do is block the exhaust coming out of the tailpipe by tightly stuffing a piece of cloth in there which chokes off the engine.
