  • In this video, Manisha from Aanandaa Permaculture Farm describes how to make Jeevamrut/ Jeevamrit step by step, Jeevamrut is a microbial culture, whose formula was conceived by Shri Subhash Palekar ji, the founder of Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF).
To make Jeevamrut/ Jeevmarit, you need:
    A 200 Litre drum
    10 Kg Cow Dung
    10kg Cow urine
    2 Kg Jaggery
2 Kg besan or chick pea flour
    2 kg good soil.
Add the cow dung and cow urine to the drum and stir it with a bamboo stick. Then add the jaggery and chickpea flour. Stir further a few times. Mix in the good soil. Now, top up the drum with 190 litres of water, while continuously stirring the mixture. Then cover the drum with a wet gunny sack or a burlap. Leave it for 48 hours - while stirring it 2-3 times a day.
After 48 hours, the mix would have fermented - which means the microbes have multiplies several times and are their maximum strength. Now, dilute it 10 x with water and add it to your irrigation water. You can also spray a 5-10% solution of filtered jeevamrut on your plants for added benefit!
