Englishman Goes Fishing In Spain With The Bare Minimum Kit

- I am on holiday in Spain. I go fishing wherever I can. I was determined to catch some fish and show you just how easy it is to get fishing when you are on holiday. If you have a low budget that's no issues. This set up cost just over 20 Euros. I take you on my adventure walking Spanish rescue dogs at a shelter, before hitting the marinas of Spain. You might call this LRF fishing but bait was used. bait was sourced from the rocks and fishing was mostly to sight. What can we catch in my few hours I was allocated to fish!

Hi Jake, this looks like a region of Spain I know well but haven't been to for a long time. I'd be interested in your thoughts about the potential kayak/ jetski /boat fishing prospects in the area, especially in and outside the lagoon.
Hello and welcome to the channel. Funnily enough I looked into it… there is many places you can rent a kayak and even a small boat. There’s very little to no tide there so that wouldn’t be anything to think about. I think you’d do quite well trolling lures for bass! I want to rent a kayak and take my rod with me in the summer!
i might be wrong but the fish shown at 5.35 that looks similar to the scorpion fish in the uk is a rockfish, if im right it has highly poisonous spines , hopefully you didnt get stabed by it.

Los Infiernos, Murcia = dog shelter
Cabo de Palos, Mar Menor = fishing
It’s a great area and more natural Spain which I like. Thank you for going. I believe the walking is 4 days a week from about 9am to 2pm 😊 the dogs are very grateful and the fishing is fun to!

My dad sorted it. Tbh I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Quiet place and catch and release I think you’d be fine. But I know you needed passport photos and was done in town. Companies online do it though about 40 euro for 5 years validation

Oh I see, so don’t just worry about yourself and what bait you have to catch fish? Now I know where I’m going wrong! I will have to bring a full blown picnic next time to ensure I get a little longer on the rods 😉 thanks for the watch and pleased you enjoyed it mate

Yes ive hand lined many many times with a little float was with bread that i made in to a dough ball smaller than a pea hook in the middle size 12 hook or smaller catching bream ornate wrasse rainbow wrasse which is one you cought small grouper about 4 inch long that was with a rod later on different holiday same place mullet up to probably 6+ pounds massive fish pets in the local marinas locals didnt like it only ever done that one once 😮but other fish many times other bream types ones i didnt look up and just put back seem at times to beat the locals in number of fish cought was spain mainland canaries islands menorca mallorca crete corfu Italy where ever i go i take a rod
In the job the smallest hook they did was about a 12. But just not quite small enough. Will smuggle some size 20’s next time to catch the other bits. The locals love it don’t they! Thanks for sharing that info! I’m looking forward to going back and having some more fine small hooks for the other mixture of species. It was great fun! Madeira is a place I have wanted to try for a while! Looks pretty and I think the fishing is good to!
i use the same mix here in tunisia and i catch alot of mullets!
