Great video sir! I built my first UDS in 2008 following the UDS build thread from the BBQ Brethren forum. I like your design especially the wheels and your intake/exhaust covers. When I first built my UDS, I covered the inlet holes with magnets from computer hard drives but they would weaken after several cooks and fall off. I now use a Heatermeter and a rotodamper to control the cook. I had looked into getting a pellet smoker but saw all the issues they had with augers controls and maintaining temperature I am going to stay with the UDS. Keep up the good work! Subscribed.
Hello, great video, I'm in the process of building a smoker, I have burned the barrel twice and the liner is burned out but it's still black inside, I still need to give it a good cleaning just wondering if it needs to be down to bare metal. Thanks
I would rinse it out real good and see what your left with. At that point hit with some 50 grit sandpaper . Bare metal is ideal but if it won't come out at that point than it's not coming out. Spray oil the inside and start the seasoning process. The inside will take on a texture just like a cast iron pan .good luck and thanks for watching.
Thanks for the build video(s) , question: could you move the chimney to the middle opening or would that change the way it works, or how the food turns out ?
The restrictor slides over and the chimney goes in it's hole. When I need to put the fire out I unscrew the chimney and close the restrictor. Thanks for watching
Hi dude! Я из России и смотрю твои видосы😉 Всё чётко и спокойно, как для друзей👍 Давай больше и чаще. Очень нравится. Сам делаю себе барабан. Let drums smoke!!! ✌️🤟🤟✌️
I will admit you build an economical drum and it looks great. Thanks and GOd Bless.
Thanks David. Economical was part of the goal .Appreciate you watching

You definitely could try it , it's something I've thought about exploring myself👍
You make a cap for the 2 inch in the center, then you made a restrictor for the other. Where's the chimney going?
The restrictor slides over and the chimney goes in it's hole. When I need to put the fire out I unscrew the chimney and close the restrictor. Thanks for watching

Where do you find the smooth side drums
Well it's purely by luck . The guy I get them from always seems to have at least one smooth drum
