It is unfortunate that they were disbanded so soon, after cleaning up a lawless territory. But in true Ranger fashion you know you can’t keep a Ranger down. In the 50’s with the help of some original tall riding Arizona Rangers, we were reformed as a auxiliary law enforcement program. The legend did not stop there, Marty Robbins had a big hit song with a tribute to the Arizona Rangers in “Big Iron”. TV also took the legend to the airwaves in the classic TV show “26 Men”.
Today, I and over 200 more proudly wear the Ranger star and serve at the request of the agencies within and all over the state of Arizona. Staying up today and training in the most current law enforcement methods and donating countless hours to the service within our own communities, we salute and pay respect to those original Arizona Rangers! Let ride!
Hermon Adams has done a series of prints on "Old West" themed action. The series may be on Rangers, I'm not sure about that. My print is entitled "The Arizona Ranger".
Texas Red was said to have fallen at the hands of one of these men.
Oh, he might have went on living but he made one fatal slip
When he tried to match the ranger with the big iron on his hip
He was killed by Billy the kid
Was it a true story i thought it was just music
And the swiftness of this ranger is still remembered to this day.
