Both of which would be a waste of time because they are Niche interests rather than doing something that more people would enjoy. A very small subset of people even get HBO, and fewer people give a crap about Quentin Tarantino. Yes I understand each one has a loud and rabid fanbase, but those will be the only people that watch those videos as opposed to videos with a wider audience appeal.
@@Jack_Stafford Do you realise how big Tarentinos fanbase is. I dont think you do. Also has it occured to you that chernobyl is the highest rated tv show of all time?
@@ashenone6166 yes of course I know that Tarantino has fans. Just like Kubrick has fans and many other directors have fans. I think you are overestimating his fan base because you are part of it. There are a lot of people that think he is a hack that just goes after the lowest common denominator as far as language and Gore. There aren't people that have the same opinions about Kubrick, they may think he's boring but he's not nearly as divisive. And Chernobyl is nowhere near the highest rated TV show ever, that would have been the finale of MASH. Just because you claim something doesn't make it so, do the research. Most people don't even get HBO to start off with, of those that do there are only some people that are going to watch a documentary that basically has been made into a horror movie. There lots of people that only watch comedies or fiction and won't go near anything that even smells of a documentary. So when you take out most of the population, and then of the people that do have HBO the percentage of people that aren't going to watch it, and you really do have a very slim percentage of people I have watched it, and fewer still that watched it all. So while it may be a high rated show for a pay cable television channel in the United States this year, that is far different from the highest rated TV show of all time. Not even close.
I just finished watching it on HBO. Honestly, I think he was just having fun with it. It's like he took all of his friends and gave us 1:45 minutes of Jim Jarmusch fan service. Even the "message" ; the fracking and the tom waits monologue at the end, were so blatant and over the top that I'm sure it was meant as parody. I don't think it was a good movie, by any means. But I also don't think he was trying to make a "good movie" either.
@@jjfossum113 why review all of Tarantino's movies, that is only going to appeal to a very small Niche audience and not getting a fuse to make it worth it. That was why I said why, why waste the time? If this was a Tarantino only Channel, or a channel that deals exclusively in those types of movies, then maybe. But this is a more General audience type of Channel, and doing that kind of extensive research, viewing, editing for all of those movies would just be a huge money-losing proposition for the channel. In other words it's not going to happen.
Personally, I think the director was going after Ed Wood’s title and on that score it was a raging success. This movie is a total pointless waste of time.
I'ts a comedy where the comedy is repeating lines, character names sounding slightly as the actors names and references to actors movies. Truly brilliant mr Jarmusch. Ingenious.
That "what?" moment with Tilda Swinton had me dying laughing in the theatre. For something so out of left field, it suddenly made everything about her character make sense. This is the kind of movie you have to be onboard for without even knowing if you'll be onboard, and that's a hard sell for a lot of people, but if you're able to watch the movie and just be ready to go "oh, THAT'S what we're doing. Weird, but cool!" Then it'll be a great watch. Parts of it even reminded me of my favorite Edgar Wright movies - Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. It's irreverent and self-referential and the only real issue is that a lot of subplots go nowhere because the zombie apocalypse happens to the people involved in those subplots. It's somehow incredibly heightened and yet grounded, deadpan, and realistic at the same time
A good, fair review. I'm not sure I would go as high as a C+, but the movie did have some ok scenes. Agreed regarding the Juvi kids, and the Tilda Swinton scene. To me, it looks like they left a lot of film on the editing room floor. I definitely had high hopes for this movie.
Dead Reviews Movies just please remember to fart on the single command we’ve previously agreed to and the spotlight maneuvered by my severed left testicle will point the way to penile reunion zone
Totally forgot about the three kids from the youth detention center basically vanishing from the movie with litterally zero payoff. Shame cause it feels like this movie had everything to be a great movie, a terrific cast, great special effects, great cinematography and arguably nice characters, it's just none of the plots go anywhere and it ends up feeling like a disjointed mess that's quirky for the sake of being quirky and is way less smart the the director seems to think it is.
My favorite part is when he’s holding Selena Gomez’s head. By far her best role… well actually, just the one scene… she’s only good as a corpse is what I’m saying.
I disagree. I don't know if I'd give it an A, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and left the theater smiling. There weren't any belly laughs, but that wasn't the point.
The only funny thing in the movie. The only thing that a tone in the theater laughed at was the fourth wall break when kylo Ren is talking to Bill Murray and they talked about how kylo Ren read the script to see how the story ends.
You must be the stupidest TH-camr (as a movie "critic") or are a four year old in a grown man's outfit. This movie was not suppose to have been laugh out loud funny by any means, but slightly funny. Watching Bill Murray and Adam Driver's chemistry was great. Those juvenile kids though...I totally forgot they existed and the last time we see them is just like "Hey I know where to hide" Strange
Let’s make sure Chris reviews all Tarantino movies before Once Upon a time in Hollywood. Like all comments that tell him to review them, tweet at him! Make sure he knows!
I've just seen this movie, and I thought it was gonna be like a Sean of the Dead kind of drama, but it surprised me. I like the 4th wall talk to the audience, and there were hidden messages that I thought were subtle. The part where you mention of Selena Gomez sparkles around her head, reminded of her hit movie Hotel Transilvania, where she found her zing that sparkle! And lots more. In my opinion, i find that zombies were a metaphor for what we are all tied to today with our cellphones and personal addictions, i.e., wifi, tennis, gym, coffee. I do agree that the teens at the detention were a little confusing, which I think there was a reason for it.
Part of me justified that Tilda Swinton scene by: the actors are watching Tilda Swinton as an actor do something stereotypically weird for Tilda Swinton. Which is a niche justification, because she seemed like she was being stereotypically weird thru the whole movie But she was lovely and I swear some of that was improv(like walking in and out of the police station)
I found the film hilarious, and I think a lot of the things people have issues with are the reasons I liked it. Like to me the character setups that don't go anywhere like the hipsters and the kids felt like a parody of other zombie flicks where you get so many characters only for most of them to die or get separated, making their previous interactions meaningless. I think the hipster subplot was the whole point of this. I also felt with the gas station clerk it set up the "it doesn't matter how much you know or how prepared you are, you're not getting out of a situation like this"
I love watching your reviews! Speaking of zombies, have you ever seen Exit Humanity (2011/2012)? This is a zombie drama filmed on a very low budget. It is one of the best ones I have seen in this genre because it actually has a story to it. It is character driven-another reason that sets the film apart. Would love to hear your thoughts on this one!
I would say the final message is well conveyed. When you have obsession (inside you head), you are "dead" (in the sense "The Dead Don't Die"). And yeah, an ending should be given to the escaped kids. But could we interpret it as "there's still hope for some"? It could worth more than a C+ considering that it got Buddha linked to extraterrestrial livings 😉

That's sad as fuck. You being sad though over someone not reviewing some films makes me happy, i mean really happy. I realise some people have serious issues. Thanks for being sad. See ya
When did he leave?
This movie sucked. Plain and simple. It seems like you have to be a movie snob just to say that you understood the movie. It's pointless, makes no sense... It's dumb.
Completely agree
it's not the most complex of plots tbf mate
60% of the comments: Chris review Chernobyl
30% of the comments: Chris review Quentin Tarantino movies leading up to Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.
It's a niche of a niche of a niche market, and I know to people in that Niche it feels really big but to the rest of us it's just a very tiny crack.
You missed the 10% of comments commenting on the comments...
Review all of Tarantino’s films leading up to Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood
YES
@@vegangurly lmao
Why?
@@Jack_Stafford why what
@@jjfossum113 why review all of Tarantino's movies, that is only going to appeal to a very small Niche audience and not getting a fuse to make it worth it.
Kywaterdawg71 I agree, but I think the ending was definitely rushed. Also, what happened to the kids who escaped Juvie!!!!!!!!!
JtheDude! Yeah, I honestly believe the entire movie was an elaborate troll, a thumb in the eye to fans of the genre and fans of the actors.
Kywaterdawg71 and why were they so calm about the dead coming back to life. They seemed a little too calm
@@jg2358 gee, i wonder why. you know, you two are really smart.

Hey Chris can you review all Tarantino movies before Once Upon A Time comes out? If you want to of course. But also if you don't want to.
Lmao. He really should tho
Sandwich Thief But Also if you don’t want to 😂 I like that 😉
It’s nice there was at least the illusion of choice lol
It's somehow incredibly heightened and yet grounded, deadpan, and realistic at the same time
Finally someone understands the movie!
Yes, fantastic description!!
" I can respect anyone who can come from Akron and do something big"
Clearly this dude has never heard of Logan and Jake Paul
They are from Westlake
They're not from akron lol. Try LeBron?
Adam driver is such a dynamic actor but honestly I love him so much more in comedies like this and Logan Lucky.

Did I see Steve Buscemi and Carol Cane in there? Seems like a pretty decent cast.
Hey Chris you should review every Quentin Tarantino movie before the release of once upon a time in Hollywood
Day 1 of asking Chris to do a T-Shirt Collection Video.
Where do he gets his shirts
My favorite part is when he’s holding Selena Gomez’s head. By far her best role… well actually, just the one scene…
she’s only good as a corpse is what I’m saying.
Where do you get your shirts? Even the designs, they're amazing!
I disagree. I don't know if I'd give it an A, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and left the theater smiling. There weren't any belly laughs, but that wasn't the point.
Spot on!
Sometimes we see a Jarmusch film so we can enjoy his company for an hour or thereabouts.
Is this considered "post humor" genre as in its not funny on purpose? If that's the the case they nailed it🙄
Something something Chernobyl Chernobyl... Ok, people, we get it. Chris should watch Chernobyl.
Chris, please watch Chernobyl.
Also, ALL TARINTINO MOVIES, ALSO
Who the fuck cares about Chris's opinion on anything.
Not even lying, this was probably the worst film I’ve seen in years.
I felt like this movie drained my energy. I hated it

I am really surprised you have not done review of Chernobyl yet. True masterpiece
Shit was so gay.

Could you review all of Tarantino’s films leading up to once upon a time in Hollywood
Personally, I found the fracking message being so in your face funny.
Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was intentional, but a lot of this movie just read as a shitpost.
@@joshuawisner4177 100% intentional
CHRIS PLEASE TELL ME WHERE YOU GOT THAT SHIRT, I NEED IT.
The only funny thing in the movie. The only thing that a tone in the theater laughed at was the fourth wall break when kylo Ren is talking to Bill Murray and they talked about how kylo Ren read the script to see how the story ends.
Exact same thing in my theater
Two people behind me laughed at so much from this movie. Like it felt so forced because nothing was happening on the screen.
You must be the stupidest TH-camr (as a movie "critic") or are a four year old in a grown man's outfit. This movie was not suppose to have been laugh out loud funny by any means, but slightly funny. That is it. I just watched it and it's the best zombie movie I have ever watched. The only other Honestly good ones are "World War Z" and "The Serpent and the Rainbow"--kind of a zombie film.
Can you put a link in future vids where you get those dope shirts? Tryin to buy lol
Omg YES! I've been asking for a while with no success 😭
Just Google them. I've found most of his shirts that way
Watching Bill Murray and Adam Driver's chemistry was great. Those juvenile kids though...I totally forgot they existed and the last time we see them is just like "Hey I know where to hide" Strange
Thats part of the humor of the movie lmao
Hey, *The Black Keys* are also from Akron!
Didn't you grew up listening to them?
"Was that in the script?"
"Not the one I read."
The Black Keys are also from Akron! Major current rock band!
Love them
How did you know that was going to happen?
I read the script..
ahh I didn't get that part yet
Fucking Epic lol
I am literally starting to base my decision to see movies on your reviews lol
Always think for yourself.
That also serves as an example of dry humor.
You people use the world literally too much.
Hes right, this movie is for a very specific audience and should not be viewed by people seeking a regular zomcom.
Review Chernobyl it’s pretty good
@THE ONE he probably wants to hear Chris's thoughts on the show init
THE ONE I’ve watched him since 2011 I just like listening to his thoughts whether we disagree or not
Part of me justified that Tilda Swinton scene by: the actors are watching Tilda Swinton as an actor do something stereotypically weird for Tilda Swinton.
Which is a niche justification, because she seemed like she was being stereotypically weird thru the whole movie
But she was lovely and I swear some of that was improv(like walking in and out of the police station)
"Bill Murray is the king of dry humor"
Norm MacDonald would like a word with you.
You know, with Hitler, the more I learn about that guy, the more I don't care for him."
Bill Murray came first, Norm Macdonald is great but he was Next Generation from Bill Murray.
Bob Hope did it first, and brilliantly
“Hey, remember 9/11?”
I also felt with the gas station clerk it set up the "it doesn't matter how much you know or how prepared you are, you're not getting out of a situation like this"
💯
adam driver is the hottest nerd alive.
Toby Melvin I just realized it’s Kylo Ren
Loved his Star Wars key chain! 👍
After Endgame came out I started saying I love you over 9000. I need that shirt.
I think The Black Keys come from Akron too. Excellent band.
To me, the movie felt like a heartfelt tribute to Romero's Dawn of the Dead (1978), whilst still incorporating Jarmusch's distinctive style
Adam driver+bill Murray +zombies = c+?
Should have been a F. Chris has gotten soft.
It's a crap shot movie
Jarmusch Jarmusch will you do the fandango?
Yo Chris you gotta try Metro Exodus it's really one of my favorite games this year. Red dead redemption 2 if you haven't yet!
I was very curious to know your opinion on this movie. Thanks a lot for this video!!
Bill Murray and zombies, it's a proven formula...this would have been a total mess without him
Kurapika fan ahhhhhh?
What's with the zombies bleeding ash in this movie? Including the recently dead ones. An attempt to get more violence past the censors?
Hi Chris, can you review Twin Peaks? ☺️😍

Yeah, some scenes seemed to be random for the sake of randomness (Tilda Swinton) or exclusively for (mostly unnecessary) exposition (the jail kids, the hermit). Heavy handed is almost an understatement, it bats you in the head with it...
Hey, Chris you seem kind of down, whats wrong?
I dont know, I just feel like Im stuck, mann
People unfamiliar with Jim Jarmusch's style are certainly going to be in for a surprise with this one. I enjoyed all the nods and references to other horror films, but the random subplots and underutilized characters dragged the third act down for me.
