    Yes. A cover of this would be awesome. I have always loved this song and the sacrifice of the Swiss Guards to protect the Pope. This video used clips from live shows and images of the Last Stand album cover and yes, Hannes was the drummer. Current members are: Joakim Broden, lead vocals (and guitar/keyboards when used); Par Sundstrom, bass/backing vocals; Chris Rorland, guitar/backing vocals; Tommy Johansson, guitar/backing vocals; Hannes van Dahl, drums/backing vocals/Floor Jansen's husband. Joakim and Par write the majority of their songs. There was a great interview on The Charismatic Voice reactor channel with Jokim where he discussed their songwriting technique and other interesting facts about the band. Sabaton also have vlogs of most of their tours which are interesting. Tank the Tech reactor has interviewed both Hannes and Joakim for his The Back Lounge podcast on his channel. As for what to react to, all of their songs are good. Some of the fan favorites are Primo Victoria (Normandy Invasion), 40:1 (Polish resistance to the Nazi invasion, the Woodstock live version is awesome), To Hell and Back (story of Audie Murphy; fun fact, one of their on stage tanks is named Audie), Winged Hussars (relief of Vienna), and Night Witches (Russian female nigh bomber regiment, watch the full animated story video to the end). Thanks for sharing the journey with us. Stay Safe, God bless, keep rocking.

    Title track of the 8th album in 2016, so yes that is Hannes on drums(he joined 2014). The album was recorded with Thobbe Englund on guitar, he left later that year and was replaced by Tommy Johansson. Lead vocals- Joakim Broden, bass- Par Sundstrom, both original members and primary songwriters. And Chris Rorland on guitar(joined 2012)

    The song is about the Sack of Rome by 20,000 Hapsburg troops in 1527 . The Swiss Guard are the Papal bodyguard and at that time numbered 189 they fought to the death to allow the Pope to escape

    Great reaction, guys!🤘 If you'll cover this song in the church, will you add some pyro to that show too?🤭🔥Sabaton use a lot of pyro on their European shows. But they play in bigger venues there. They did actually use the whole package in Montreal, Canada when they played in a big arena.

    • @RexRegisPeter
      @RexRegisPeter ปีที่แล้ว

      They are actually on a tour at smaller venues in Sweden right now, I saw them a couple of weeks ago in a small arena without any pyro at all.

      @@RexRegisPeter Yep, I'm going to see them in a small venue not far from my hometown. 😉🤘 On Saturday, actually. It's a part of the "Swedish Tour" they started during the pandemic. They had to postpone a lot of shows abroad at that time. They set their minds to visit towns and places they've never played at before.

    This is one of my favourite Sabaton songs, try Winged Hussars next or the song Carolean's Prayer from their Carolus Rex album, there is a brand-new lyric video for that song and within the song there is a Lord's Prayer in Swedish (and the reason is that Carolean soldiers were VERY religious - they believed that God already decided whether they live or die in battle, so there was no reason for them to worry about it - made them very determined and dangerous opponent)

    Sabaton is my favourite band and I am glad that you are reacting to them but why have you put on subtitles when they are singing in English perfectly understandable. I am English and I do not need subtitles unless they are singing in their native language of Swedish. I have been to Stockholm the capital city of Sweden where the majority of Swedish citizens speak English as a second language, I just can't understand why Americans put on subtitles when someone from a non English speaking country who speaks perfect English and us British can understand everything that they say. I have been to America and I have American cousin's also my great grandparents on my late mum's side where American, but with all due respect to American's it just boggles my mind when subtitles are used even when someone is speaking English. It is just a mystery I have never ever worked out. British Sabaton Fan 💂‍♂️💂‍♂️💂‍♂️💂‍♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪

      Close but it was how the swiss guard protected the pope as he escaped during the Germanic wars. They sacked Rome and 189 Swiss guard fought a rear guard action to save the Pope and some of the citizens of the Vatican. It is the story of how the Swiss Guard cemented their role as what we now know as the Vatican Guard.
