Meanwhile, in GA, there is $11 billion in unallocated surplus cash and the state’s cash reserves stand at over $19 billion. The surplus has been so large, in fact, that with the rainy day fund at its legal limit GA taxpayers are expected to receive an extra refund of up to $1k per person. This all according to The Associated Press.
Democrats need to carry the weight for causing this problem. You should ask, how did they spend the raining day fund and the 5 billion dollars left by Hogan? Julio
They’ll do it now and in a year when they overspend they’ll want more. This administration is a bunch of Spendaholics and that worm Ferguson is one of the worst.
Yea, because Republican governor states are so amazing. NOT! lol Sending funding back to the people to improve their well being is what government is suppose to do. Not hoard our tax money.
Good, 10,000 new state employees would cost on average about $450M additionally in just wages, then add state employee medical cost which is estimated at $27K per employee and the cost of pensions down the road. Adding 10,000 state employees would cost nearly $1B just in the first year.
We need to Raise our State Income Tax to 14% on all earned and unearned income with an exception for union pension funds. This will enable us to hire not 5000 new employees but 10,000 new state workers.
Its absolutely the democrat problem.. This exact same mismanagement, high tax, and wasteful spending, is the exact same in every democrat city/state. Im no Hogan fan, hut republicans always leave a surplus, and democrats always a deficit
@user-xz9ed8pw2s Colorado is falling apart dude.. Youre being flooded with immigrants. And I dont believe Colorado has been democrat for very long.. Its got alot of right leaning areas.. Its a purple sstate. The Democrat city, of Denver, is an absolute crap hole, subsidized by the affluent surrounding counnties. My son just moved back to Maryland from Colorado, 8 months ago
@@user-xz9ed8pw2s Are you going to address the points I made, or looking for an appeal to authority? No.. ai dont live in Colorado, nor do I need to.. Medicaid and entitlements absolutely need looked at. A family member that has been addicted to drugs and alcohol the last 20 years lost his job of 3 months in December. And starting tomorrow he gets “free” aka tax payer funded healthcare so he can continue his suboxone and drugs. Suboxone is a joke. I have many other cases like this. Quite frustrating when many of us work very hard and make better choices and are rewarded by paying higher fees to subsidize these free loaders. Our health insurance went up another 12% this year and we pay $1300/mth for two people and the benefits did not improve, they got worse!
Split divisions he said she said. They hide behind party lines and we point fingers at a door with silly animals that we endorse a step away from nowhere.
What a shame! These politicians don’t give a rip about their constituents. All they care about is keeping their cushy jobs. Even if that means the whole ship will go down.
Healthcare is not wasting money. Education is not wasting money. We only benefit from a well educated and healthy society. Is the money getting allocated to those areas and not being spent as it should? How many executives take vacation using it? Also, why focus on those two topics? How much has Maryland had to pay in police lawsuits or other civil cases? How many tax breaks to Amazon did we give? Just naming a few ideas to get the ball rolling.
Follow the policies of the states that are doing extremely well. The Southern states seem to be doing well with their citizens, along with making opportunities for citizens transplanting or moving to their states as well. The South has taken a lot of responsibility and they should get more fed dollars to get relief. There is an old saying in Maryland “Outsiders can not run Maryland . Maryland is a hard state to govern. Because ppl live differently statewide. Therefore the resources and approaches to services must not be a one size fit all. This is not our great grandmothers Maryland so we all must pray for more solution oriented leadership in this new year.. This is another hard hit to Maryland on top of losing our bridge in Dundalk. . Prayers for Maryland and Historic Turner’s Station as well. The bridge effects their community the most.
what is the point of mentioning asians for end of life care? Is MD different with an asian boom that drains Medicaid or something? what is the context of what he meant?
But they will spend billions of dollar on the Montgomery Co Purple line people mover tram that is slower than a diesel transit bus and much more to run.
I hope MOCO finally gets a wake up call. The rest of the counties are tired of paying for an oligarchy of spend, spend, spend Demonrats whose only focus is on 4 counties and the city and figuring out how to give away every damn cent to useless state employees and illegals and welfare queens.

Democrats are going to raise taxes, not if but when. 😢
They’ll do it now and in a year when they overspend they’ll want more. This administration is a bunch of Spendaholics and that worm Ferguson is one of the worst.
Yea, it’s glaringly obvious where the deficit came from. It’ll just get swept under the rug.
Wes Moore sucks!! Worst ever!
Either he robs us or the honest criminals rob us.
10,000 vacancies sounds like an excellent start. Can we get rid of another 10,000?
How much did they spend on illegal migrants?
$1 is too much
Senator Ferguson is full of it.
Stop spending.
We all know where it came from. The whole damn state is corrupt.
Next time I’m voting republican.
@Brian-MCG I'm hispanic and I knew better to vote Republican. It's common sense at this point.
But the democrat progressives ASSURE us that their idea of socialism will really work this time 😂
Yea, because Republican governor states are so amazing. NOT! lol Sending funding back to the people to improve their well being is what government is suppose to do. Not hoard our tax money.
You can tell that Mikenzie Frost worked hard on this report. Thank you for GOOD reporting! :)
She is the only reporter. She doesn’t accept the jawboning
10,000 more people to stand around and add a broken link to any service.

so you want taxpayers to pay more for bigger government? why? I hope you're being sarcastic.

@ have you lived in Colorado? Or are you just going by what you see from the media?
Colorado is like the stoner kid who has no job and no skill just living off the last of his parent’s savings. It’s an illusion that WILL dissolve.

Medicaid projections weren't off, they were never realistic so they could be easily sold to the public
I want to know why those vacancies are not filled and what job requirements are possibly preventing them from being filled
Don't forget that hogan left us with a multi million dollar surplus. Democrats mess it up again.

😂😂😂😂😂. Keep voting democrats
Or vote republican and be West Virginia. You all are irrational.
This knob doesn’t are about you.
this is what happens when you let the kids manage the money

Scrap DEI and hire competent officials and employees.
All i can say is that it better not affect MoCo( usually the democrats are business oriented).
Please balance the damn budget!!!

Democrats have never been business oriented. What are you talking?
Dems are not business oriented LOL. businesses pay higher taxes to fund more social programs under Dem leadership. that is everywhere.
