An old trucker trick too, add a little dawn dish soap to washer fluid. And I do mean a little. Maybe the washer bottle cap mostly full of dawn. Will help clean bugs and keep hoses and nozzles clean
Great fix and saved me a pile of money. I was about to buy a new pump. Only took about 15 minutes but I did go thru the grill instead of the wheel well. That was some nasty green slime.
Worked great, originally when I pulled the pump the filter stayed in but once I pried out the filter it was gummed up with algae like material. Saved me a visit to the dealership
Great video - but I thought I would try a wet dry vac to suck up any debris. I used a rag around the wet dry hose to create a vacuum. Dumped clear water into reservoir and sucked it dry twice. Added washer fluid and back in business
Just fixed mine and I had a bunch of junk come out of the line and also around the filter. Tested it and is all good now. However, on my 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 pump was right in front after you remove the grill. Already had the grill off cause I was changing out headlights.
Good job. I too was ready to order a pump. I had checked the entire hose. No leaks. Figured the pump was getting old and weak after 206K miles. Now I'll do what you did and I'm hoping I get the same result. Assuming I have the same problem, you saved me a bunch of money and time. Thanks! By the way, that looks like Louisiana. My old stomping grounds. Is it?
Thanks, great video. I did what you said on my 18' 3500. Turns out, the seal that holds the pump in the reservoir was ripped and was clogging the hole.
ah yea, the slime. I get that on other hand held pump sprayers. Makes sense that it would be here as well. Guess I get to look forward to that on my 2015. Never dropped the inner wheel well though.
I'll be a son-of-a… Just did this to fix my '14. I sprayed into the tank with a garden hose while the pump was out, and flushed out a ton of gunk while I was in there. Thinking about flushing it vinegar, then distilled water, and letting it dry completely before I put fluid back in it.
I think this will net some good results. The motor works, but nothing comes out. Even if this doesn't do the trick, it's a good maintenance tip for the washer system. I think this will do it . Thank pal ! ! A little question for ya . . . . . do you ever get any alligators swimming around ? ? Looks like a Florida neighborhood.
How do you remove the reservoir? Mine is leaking. Don’t know where. Any ideas what leak is from? Do the gaskets leak? Or is it a crack. ? Thanks for video
2017 And 2020 new trucks same issue, seems to me they have design problems, as I never had such problems with any other car, even 20 years olds, mine weak flow, then stops one side, then both died, then suddenly works, 6 visits to dealership, and no cure, just temp fix.
Absolutely giving this a try tomorrow! I was on the verge of ordering a pump, and thought I’d check TH-cam. Thank you!!

Tried to blow out did not work. Saw this and yes it was the problem. works great now. Thank you.
