Well, that was a "fun" marathon, I hope everyone enjoyed it. Tomorrow I'll be having a conclusion discussion talking about every review, my thoughts and a brief look to 2018
This one. Is this a redub? I ask, because it looks like you're using Windows 8. And I'm not sure if you know that there is a free upgrade to Windows 10 (if you use a loophole, but its perfectly legit).
Look up, "Windows 10 free upgrade page for people who use assistive technologies" in google. You don't have to use the assistive technologies, its just a loop hole. Because the normal upgrade period is over. You just have to say, "yeah, I totally am deaf, give me windows 10 please!" And 10 is a lot like 8, just faster and more intuitive.
tgx me and 2 of my friends who came over last night watched the review together cause we grew up playing ctr and it is the best racing game ever and we enjoy your videos so much
26:05, TGX is a living legend. I love the mix of creative comedy in combination with an in depth mechanical analysis of the game. These reviews are always kept fresh, clever and interesting while being informative, unbiased and thorough. Great job, and keep up the awesome content!!
Definitely my favourite racing game. Had so much fun playing with my older brothers growing up! Even when we had ps2, we still go back to our old psx to play this!
I beat Oxide on every track. Made me SO mad i didnt unlock him for all that hard work. Penta was sort of a nice consulation prize since apparently they share the same stats.
Only in the PAL version is Penta OP with maxed stats. In the North America version, he's a regular +turn -speed character. Nice to meet someone else who beat the Oxide times 👍
They likely had to cut N. Brio, Koala Kong and Tawna due to system limitations. For all the amazing stuff they could make the Playstation do, they were severely limited by it.
Tabreez Siddique maybe not, but it’s still a point to consider. Naughty Dog back in the day were really good at pushing the Playstation to its limit, pulling off stuff Sony didn’t know the system was capable of and no clue how to recreate. They were an amazingly talented team of programmers, but they were still limited by the system’s hardware capabilities. Of course, it could have also been budget and time constrains as well, but my money is on the Playstation’s limitations.
I loved this review. It actually helped me realize this is my favorite game of all time. It was a grand finale to an amazing series. What I love most about the game is that ND made the most of the previous games and the tie ins that made the series what it is. The weapons, music, levels, it's all beautiful. They combined it all into a super fun racing game full of life. I knew it had a special place in my heart since I own 4 copies of it. 😆
You do unlock the scrap book for beating oxide times, instead of having to 100% complete adventure mode. There was a time where I could only beat Oxide times with Penta Penguin. I have the PAL version of the game where Penta is busted having top stats in everything. Later I managed to do it with Dingodile (since he's my favorite Crash character and main) fairly easily. I can play Dingodile on Oxide station but when you get to the cornering section early on you're going to have to drift very specific lines unless you wanna curb yourself. Heavies like Dingodile can drift pretty much straight forward too.
You deserve way more subs dude. You made me appreciate this game even more than I already do. Although I think I do like this game more than you. I even beat all of oxides ghosts... twice.
Splendid review buddy. Very thought-out and in-depth. I never realized CTR could be looked at like this. Crash Team Racing is a vintage classic. I actually got the game on my PS3 just this year, like a lot of other games. I’ve quite enjoyed replaying it. I even played through story mode, but I haven’t gotten to a hundred percent yet. I absolutely agree with almost everything you said in this review. The key word is almost. But regarding the game itself, absolutely, and I see where you are getting at. Speaking of Naughty Dog, after I wrap up InFAMOUS 2, I gotta replay the Uncharted games, and save the best for last, for when I finally play Last of Us. You see what I did there? Oh btw, are you suggesting or implying you don’t like Uncharted? Why not?! Uncharted is awesome! Great gameplay, engaging characters, great atmosphere and theme, the sense of adventure and exploration well match the theme of treasure hunting, fascinating puzzles and secrets, etc. Anyway, regardless, I’ll definitely check out more of your content. ValeforXD was right.
Apparently, some people think Naughty Dog owns the Crash IP because he made a cameo in "Uncharted 4," since it's not like 'Used with permission from...' is a thing that exists in copyright law. :P [penguin yay 1]
In canonity This has to happen between first and second game because at second games "%100 ending" aka. "true ending" neo cortex and ngin probably died because of destruction of space station and it is possible that uka uka convinced n tropy to go back time for saving them before nbrio's assult and also this makes no paradox because space station still get destroyed anyway. And in third game they get stuck in time prison and that explains how they came back few days in its about time. Also we can count ntropy as secret character like penta the penguin because he has no connection with adventure mode, you just select time trial mode in the main menu and it requires 0 save slot but actually your best times fills a entire slot anyway. You encounter and unlock other bosses in adventure mod via collecting coloured gems. It can be in second game because its like one day in game and not a long journal like crash 1. Characters show sleep deprive effects in warped to show how long it takes to execute that scheme. Ntropy's voice sounds so meta to me because I hear him like his at my behind everytime I conpleted a time trial because we just hear him without any imagery content. I realized that actually I can write essay about any crash bandicoot related topic because this comment already been too long
My favourite game of my favourite franchise. (Not my favourite game of all time, mind you -- it's beaten by Skyrim and The Third Age -- but Crash is my favourite video game series, and CTR is my favourite Crash game.) This is the game that turned me into a gamer -- it's just about perfect. I haven't been able to play CTR in years -- my copy is broken. But I'll always look fondly on the hundreds upon hundreds of hours I spent playing it. I will never forget it. It's a classic.
Btw...did you know that if you hit the circle button after hitting a weapon-pickup box, you can force the weapon/slot machine to finish early? Also, for some reason, I've never been able to find this game on the PlayStation Store for my Vita -- in fact, I can't find any of the Crash or Spyro games there. Which, as you can imagine, sucks. I don't even know why they're missing for me :(
I haven't seen a lot of your videos. In fact, this is my second. My first was the Crash Nitro Kart video. Gotta say, they're pretty damn good and entertaining videos. Even the jokes are fairly well timed, and don't seem too forced. Nice job, even though this is a year old video. I said this on my Nitro Kart video, but god I can't wait for the CTR Nitro Fueled to come out in about a week. I have it pre-ordered and pre-downloaded, all ready to go. I actually never played a Crash racer before, any of 'em (outside of about 10 minutes of the GBA one). I've always wanted to try 'em seeing as I was and am a huge Crash Bandicoot fan, having played the hell out of 'em when they first came out. I just happened to miss CTR. But now, a near perfect recreation of the original game, with updated graphics, all the characters and tracks from Nitro Kart, new original tracks, a completely free battle pass type system, cosmetic skins for characters and karts, along with decals and stickers you to place on your kart, Spyro the m'fing Dragon along with Spyro themed tracks are planned at a later date, Tawna's back!, the trophy girls are in, and there's two different versions of Adventure Mode (original, and an updated one with the new stuff tossed in). All for $40. It's fucking ridiculous, yet has me hyped as hell. I NEED it. It's killing me, having to wait. I so wish I had access to an emulator, I'd be all over the original CTR while I wait.
I always loved Crash Team Racing. But there are some things I don't understand: the game is called "Crash Team Racing". I played the game before, and there are no racing teams in the game. In Crash Nitro Kart, there are racing teams. Crash Team Racing should have been called Crash Nitro Kart and Crash Nitro Kart should have been called Crash Team Racing. Makes no sense at all. Thumbs up if you agree.
If his Twitter is anything to go by... Nope. In fact, he's rolling his eyes at the fact that it's just another remake and not a new game. No. Not even Crash Nitro Kart content added in can change his mind.

I always misunderstood "crash bash" as "Crash 5" as when I was a toddler because in turkish "beş" the word that means "five or 5" pronouncing same as pronouncing of "bash". And I would think CTR like crash 4(*) because it has same develeoper with original crash trilogy but irrevelant as story wise and just for fun. For feeling more empathy here, I had a playstation 1 slim at these old days(I was between 7-10 years old and I wasnt awareof any game except for trilogy ctr and bash. Now My ps doesnt work like old days and now I have to emulato on samsung tablets but its very easy task for them. Its insulting how even low tier crappy hardwares still emulate crash with maximum quality(I mean at 60fps also there is no resolution options and Its how easy to access the original trilogy. My pc insanely lagging and freezing at nsane trilogy aka the fresh remake that realesed 3 years ago at this day). Also I never finished crash 1 because I was so willing to believe that my controller is broke and not realiezing that I suck at directional pad. After 10 year hiatus I emulated all of that and got %100 all of them. I only used save state in crash 1 because I was little inspired from nsane trilogy's crash 2 type of approach and make bonuses had to be completed for gems and make them replayable For (*): (Also I wasnt aware of other crash games except crash bash but at least I was aware that it has different develeoper because of the intro and its irrevelant to story too like alternative universes or reboots)
My problem with newer Kart racers... which seems to even be a big thing with Mario Kart now, is that all the tracks themselves look and feel like they were just made out of a twisted ribbon. Maybe with a jump gap here or there, but that's about it... Woohoo challenging.... Mario Kart, your drifting/powersliding is boring and it sucks! (Funny thing is, I could say similar things about what Criterion, the Burnout devs, did to Need for Speed, even though I loved Burnout.)
the argument on boss difficulty highlights CTR's biggest shortcoming: it was too easy. This game utterly shits on mario kart 64 and diddy kong, but once you have become acquainted with the controls, (not even mastered them) you will never lose. This is the only thing that bothers me, the rest is perfection!
@@Lukejames_ even online isn't that hard for Mario kart. Played 20 races in a session and I only got 2nd once and 19 wins. While ctr as a newbie with nitro fueled I normally do very well but the pro players (if u played online u know the ones) abosultly destroy me. Same with the n trophy ghosts let alone the oxide ones.
this may be an unpopular opinion and i never played diddy kong racing but from seeing gameplay every character looks like these cheap chinese plushy toys to me :D just my opinion tho

Naughty Dog wanted CTR to kill crash bandicoot since they'd lose the IP afterwards. I think they would've ended the series on the perfect note if it actually did kill the franchise.
First of all, Nitro kart as I've saif in the past was really good simply for being CTR in space, but was a wee bit bloated and had some minor design issues Tag team racing on the other hand was an abortion
While CTR (PS1) is outdated and next Gen hardware is getting more higher in sales, how will CTR live on modern hardware? Easy Answer. Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fuelled.
This game's only flaw is its unfair 2 player vs. mode. During a race, the 1st place racer will NEVER get a mask. Two equally skilled racers can't race on equal pick-up odds. One can almost always win by hanging back a little in the last lap and blowing by the leader with a mask. Don't believe me? Go test it for yourself.
I'd say they're just different. Mario Kart is more of a 'vanilla' kart racer. It doesn't do anything special, you get what you expect. Crash is more skill based I'd say, simply due to how the drift boosting works. Mario Kart is a bit simpler and straight forward, where Crash is more challenging with it's physics and drift boost mechanics. Mario Kart relies a bit more on powerups, where Crash, while powerups are still important, relies more on your ability to cut corners, and take the optimal route. At least, when it comes to the average player. I can assume high-skill players in Mario Kart play it similar to how CTR is meant to be played (as seen by snaking in Mario Kart. Snaking in Crash is just how the game's meant to work. In Mario Kart, it's not something you're meant to do, but people do it anyway as a way to get a leg up.) I'm not saying one's better than the other. They're both Kart Racers featuring an established series of characters from a previous game series. But the games play different. They have two different points of focus. Crash feels more like an actual racing game, focusing on tight corners, mastering shortcuts, ect. Mario Kart feels more like a party game, focused more on using powerups to out-do your opponents.
Well, that was a "fun" marathon, I hope everyone enjoyed it. Tomorrow I'll be having a conclusion discussion talking about every review, my thoughts and a brief look to 2018

Objectively the mechanically best kart racing game ever. And happened to release on my birthday.

Definitely my favourite racing game. Had so much fun playing with my older brothers growing up! Even when we had ps2, we still go back to our old psx to play this!
The "Pass It On" part in 26:05 is still one of my favorite moments in the TGX Cinematic Universe, lol.

In Mario Kart, it's not something you're meant to do, but people do it anyway as a way to get a leg up.)
I'm not saying one's better than the other.
Mariokart 64 was best kart racer.
