The odds are hugely against matt, but A. Nobody's expecting him to win so he doesn't have the same pressure. The man makes a ton of money in the oil field…has a great family. A lot more important things in life than gripping up with all the freaks on the juice these days.

These press conferences would be a lot more fun and engaging if it was filmed at an open bar and everyone was drinking, relaxed and having a good time, with the press/media wandering between them asking them questions.
I appreciate that this style of press conference is every other sports industry standard, but every other sport doesn't have the personalities of armwrestling, and here they're being wasted while they sit bored and waiting for their turn to speak.

I wonder if these would be slightly more interesting if it focused on one person/match-up at a time, but it was more conversational, where anyone can join in and ask a question or add a remark, and just talk more casually back and forth with a faster pace. Would probably liven up the atmosphere and there would be a lot more content for the competitors to respond to. Making it a little more messy and casual could be better for everyone, maybe.
Not that it needs to turn into like an online debate between 9 people at once, but we could move slightly closer to that direction I think. Especially when there's fellow countrymen and training partners and stuff. It's hard to really get into a fun back and forth in such a stale environment, it's always going to feel really forced and also not very fitting for the atmosphere.
Okay 38:00 is a good example. It's far more awkward than it needs to be, due to the created atmosphere where everyone just sits in silence. If other people weren't all silent, and were expected to join in whenever they wanted, this moment would work a lot better and feel more normal.
49:05 - Okay the interaction between John and Todd is more casual and interesting. If they and others could have joined in with the rest of the conference, that would have been more entertaining for sure (while still keeping the focus on the right people at the time).

Even as a massive gynornous devon fan, and i figured hed be a good host at a presser but im actually surprised af at how awesome he is. Devons the type that gets into everything and seems kind of stretched thin (in a good way) as he'll dive into whatever peaks his interest atm but quickly move on lol. I expected him to possibly filibuster going down some rabbit hole, but then i realized thats why devons fascinating and as a former elite special forces operator with something serious like 4 hot deployments. Obviously, he knows to focus like a lazer and get right to the point when the situation calls for it. Lol free time Devon is like a nomadic barbarian, ronin samurai lol. However, when devon is tasked with objectives that super amazing contradictory nature comes out and you wonder what people are talking about whsn they joke that devon has add lol. Im putting aside the fact that i fng love devon, objectively i think he is the best host for a presser in armwrestling I've ever seen and that includes neil, ryan, Travis etc. Never would've expected that.

You can't put that situation on Todd, that beef is with Ryan and Engin. Yeah Todd might have agreed but he probably puts his finances first and making more money is an easy decision.

Also Todd was offered the same money from AWE. And sometimes it’s not just about the money, sometimes your word to someone means something. But we all know what’s going on. I really hope that Ryan and Engin can work it out. It’s too bad that personal feelings are getting in the way and impacting decisions. That’s the thing I don’t like. Personal feelings shouldn’t be impacting any decisions. Everyone involved is an adult and should act as so. Let’s hope wisdom and the want to do things for the right reasons prevail.
