“By George, she’s got it! By George, she’s got it! Now once again, where dos it rain? On the plain, on the plain. And where’s that soggy plain? In Spain, in Spain!”. “Well after all, Pickering, I’m an ordinary man, Who desires nothing more than an ordinary chance, to live exactly as he likes, and do precisely what he wants… An average man am I, of no eccentric whim, Who likes to live his life, free of strife, doing whatever he thinks is best for him…”
Well, fan my brow, I just discovered that my broken English and lousy pronunciation is in reality a random mix of dialects, in no particular order. Ah!
No, in America we don't say "vays" unless we're referring to a plain, no frills receptacle for the expressed purpose of holding cut flowers and water. We say 'vahz' if it's pretty even if there's nothing in it. Ming Vahz, Glass vays.
This was an entertaining video and I enjoyed it very much. In Thailand at the moment? Interesting as I am too for the next few weeks. Looking forward to your next video. Cheers!
TX girl here, also abroad! On BBC, various podcasts, most of the speakers have an 'Elmer Fudd' accent. R sounds like W And 'th' sounds like 'f' 'Bwown' and 'free' (for 3) This is so interesting to compare 'regional cockneys' that I am hearing on the BBC. I'm going to practice 'innit' especially since people think I'm from England just because I speak English. They don't hear my TX /USA accent 🤔
She did really good for 15mins practice. Given a few days, she could probably outdo most American actors in movies....... one thing Gideon was you taught a lot of complex stuff like vowels but missed some easy basics such as ME instead of MY, no G on the end of ING... also one thing I find with Americans is teaching how Tomato, Actor, Elixir and Water all rhyme in cockney always amazes them - similarly Pool, Paul and Pull being pronounced identically.
The Beautiful Lady accepted your challenge, positive results, did very well! I appreciate the accent videos, I prefer British English, and its variations. Congratulations Gideon, beautiful video with a nomadic flower.
They have probably stopped TOTP when music became beige. I can’t imagine anything more boring than a 2014 TOTP with Coldplay, Adele and Taylor Swift! Natasha has played the game really well, I hope she will send you a selfie of her in Covent Garden 😅 bless her. Your videos are always a gentle mix of education, laughs and nerdy facts. They are the best
- Stopping Top of the Pops was a blessing before it became unbearably bland. - I'll buy all my flowers in Covent Garden from Natasha from now on. - Many thanks. - You are the best.
Thank you so much for having me Gideon! This was so fun to make & can’t wait to keep practicing my cockney accent 😂
@NatashaIbrahim You were amazing thanks for taking part. It was such fun. Next time I'm in Covent Garden I'll be sure to buy a flower from you.
Don't bother with a "cockney" accent...you need to try a "Geordie" accent. Now that will be a real challenge!
Lucky American "Duchess" to be taught by such a talented, experienced and funny teacher! Funny and educational as always :)
Agreed😊
Thanks though I consider myself lucky to have her as a guest. Natasha's super cool.
@@LetThemTalkTV Agreed again!
Hey, Mr.Gideon I'm glad you visited Thailand. I hope you have a good time here!!
She sounds fair dinkum like an Aussie when she pulls the British accent.
Aha! Grew up in Australia.
Very Australian
I noticed that especially during the Rain in Spain bit.
Well done Sir! And congratulations to the fair lady

17:10 - That's what I was waiting for.
I'm not even three minutes in, and I'm loving it already.
"Covent Garden is not a garden." 😂😂
Neither a monastery
Next you gonna tell me is Piccadilly Circus is not a circus..
@@B0K1T0 And also Oxford Circus, Cambridge Circus, and other circuses. LOL. 😆😆
"That Hamilton Lady" is another great movie.
Well, fan my brow, I just discovered that my broken English and lousy pronunciation is in reality a random mix of dialects, in no particular order.
Ah!
If you ever asked me how a man from London with a Cockney accents looks and how a girl from Texas looks I would have never come up with these 2.
No, in America we don't say "vays" unless we're referring to a plain, no frills receptacle for the expressed purpose of holding cut flowers and water. We say 'vahz' if it's pretty even if there's nothing in it. Ming Vahz, Glass vays.

Thailand is a great place to be in the winter. Glad you liked the video

"The water in Majorca don't taste like what it ought to."
To me (also from Texas) it sounds like you're teaching someone how to sound like Michael Caine.
Yes, Michael Caine has a cockney accent.
Blimey, the rozzers!
It's only southern England that pronounces 'a' differently in some words. The rest of the UK has one way to pronounce short 'a' and sticks with that
Likewise that weird way of pronouncing 'l'
İ love your hair Natasha ❤😊
Thank you! 🤍🤍

Thanks for you comment. Yes, I didn't include everything otherwise the video would have been 4 hours long.
Gorgeous video.
Covent Garden... back of the stage to the Royal Opera House. Enjoy...
Great teachings 🎉
Next video: Can a Mississippian lady teach Gideon how to speak Appalachian English? That would be something to behold. 😂
Will you introduce me to a Mississipian lady?
I will have to climb mountains, literally the Appalachian mountains (joking). Or I can email. I'll let you know!
Thank you.
I think she's got it! 😁
The Beautiful Lady accepted your challenge, positive results, did very well! I appreciate the accent videos, I prefer British English, and its variations. Congratulations Gideon, beautiful video with a nomadic flower.
Natasha is so natural. Making the video with her was so easy and such fun. Many thanks for your comment.
I can’t play a cockney spy in a Hollywood movie. Let the native speakers from London do that (especially that no one has invited me to play yet).
Unless I take a few lessons from Gideon!..
More rabbit than Sainsburys. Nice teeth.
Spo on, Guvna.
I watched it only because of the duchess' smile. Otherwise I dislike that kind of English, especially the guttural stop.
She creates content on travel and mindset... which is... what exactly?
😍😍😍

Since when is being a digital nomad a way of living
Great guest!! Have her on again, we can get Accustomed to Her Face 😁
You can't become a Fair Lady in 24 minutes
So you are in Thailand, huh ?
Teachers get paid these days more than they used to, innit?
innit?
😃😄
