Docker Tedeschi dominates in sectional championship win Vs Breese Central

The Benton Rangers advance to the super sectional for the first time since 2003 after winning a defensive battle, defeating the #1 team in the state, Breese Central, 34-32.
The Rangers were led by junior Docker Tedeschi, who scored 12 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and blocked 6 shots. Tedeschi shot 8/8 from the free throw line in the win, with 6 of those coming in the 4th quarter.
Benton started hot, taking a quick 9-0 lead, and led 14-4 after the first quarter. However, Breese Central stormed back, narrowing the gap to 18-17 at halftime.
In the 2nd half, Benton only scored one field goal, a 3-pointer from senior Evan Munoz, who had 9 points. However, the Rangers' free throw shooting carried them to the win, as they shot 11/12 from the free throw line in the 4th quarter to secure the 34-32 victory.
The Benton Rangers will now advance to the elite 8 to play against the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes in the SIU supersectional on Monday night at 7:00.
