That Rocks is SO F'N awesome. I have been watching you since TMS in, I believe 08? I am so glad you guys are back. Corey T is such a cool and down to earth guy. He's talks as if he's everyones best friend. Great show, love you guys!
Much love to you guys since the “That Metal Show” and weekly Eddie Trunk show on our local radio 101.5 KRock. Aloha from Hawaii! I’m totally enjoying this new show, keep it going guys! 🤘🏼🔥
With Corey's story about passing out in Dallas, I knew people who went to that show. That's cool he mentioned it, and how he remembered Grand Prairie; however, I'm pretty sure it was actually at the Starplex in Fair Park, which is kind of shaped like a bowl. He said it was in Grand Prairie, but GP is known for an indoor amphitheater, the Verizon Theater (used to be Nokia). That place is known for its concerts. Saw Alan Jackson there myself.
Greetings from Croatia! You have no idea what I had to go through to watch TMS. Good to see you back together, hope you step up the production and get in the same room together
Thanks for the rocker who noted Steel Panther was going to be on Americas got talent-they rocked trying to spread metal-everybody on the panel loved them!
My top 6 picks are Alice Cooper, Rammstein, Gwar, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson and Kiss! I'll be ready for your show next Weds. A really great book to read is Stephen Pearcys book, lead singer of Ratt! It gives a cool picture of the band making it on the Sunset Strip scene! 🤘🎸
I am a vinyl collector and have a few cds. I own a small record player but no cd player. Corey, I also have ‘Nevermind the Bullocks’ reissue from Warmer Bros., ‘Peace of Mind’ by Iron Maiden (got the album for free by a former neighbor who was a metalhead), ‘Too Fast For Love’ by Mötley Crüe and ‘Highway to Hell’ by AC/DC that my mother bought me for Christmas. Working on buying more but listen to streaming on TH-cam Music on the albums and cds I don’t own.
Btw, Eddie I still Love CDs! Records were good back in the day however CDs are more compact and have a great shelf life and they do sound good even if you play them to death! 📀 👍
By the time i found TMS I was watching reruns and then on youtube. I couldn’t believe there were that many people that were just like me for this music. My wife hated the show so you obviously were doing it right. So now with this show, not with my wife anymore, but my roommate hates it, he’s 12 years younger than me, so obviously your still doing it right! By the way I’ll be 59 in July so right there with you. Keep it up keeping me informed. Just bought both Metal Blade books on your recommendation, can’t wait to get into them.
Exactly! Great post, the only vinyl to buy is older stuff, especially 1970' s which was ANALOG. Analog is the truest way to listen to music in its intended form.
I have to weigh in on the Bob Rock controversy, in the original interview he states that he was a fan of Motley before he worked with them and the story he told about Nikki was clearly meant to be Nikki being self deprecating. Love the show guys 🤘🤘
You guys are on fire. Keep this shit up. Maybe try and get Gary Holt or Chuck Billy on, basically anyone from the early thrash movement. Bobby Blitz would be sick.
I' d wrestle a grizzly bear to hear ANY of those three interviewed on here! Especially Chuck Billy, who doesn't seem to do much in the way of interviews and media. What a voice for metal, Chuck has, fookin' perfect tone and growl! New Overkill crushes!
So great to have you guys back! Love you keep up the good work! I salute you! And as for theatrical rock! I got a feeling Rob Zombie might be a tad passed he didn't get a mention x
Attention Eddie Trunk: the problem with Cds, for anything that existed before hand was that they were mixed by teck guys because the great producers and engineers didn't understand the technology. The tech guys did things like raise instruments in the mix that they couldn't hear loud enough and all of a sudden a hi hat is taking up space and the vocals aren't loud enough, or the kick is made louder. Many of those original mixes were remastered which means the 2 channel mix was eq'd and a limiter was used to bring up the volume.unless the albums were remixed from the original recordings it's the same crappy mix almost 40 years later. As a medium the cd is the best hard copy that you can have, and its fair to mention that most of the reissues on vinyl are... you guessed it the cd mixes put onto vinyl... What's better digital or analog ... as soon as it comes out of your speakers or out of your headphones is once again analog the second it hits oxygen...
The Winery Dogs concert was crazy good. Rival Sons concert tour was awesome indeed as well. The supporting acts were decent too. Starcrawler was very energetic with some serious old school Stones vibes. The lead singer literally moved like Jagger. The other supporting act The Record Company was an awesome three piece band as well.
This band opened for Boston on their first tour. Star Castle used crystals, mirrors, and spot lights for a laser type light show before lasers were available. They deserve an honorable mention for that. Hope someone finds a video to share.
Angel! Yes, I had all there old records on vinyl. Now i have them all on CD including their new album which is great. Yes, I know how to stream but I like to hold physical media and read the liner notes etc…
Listening to music on vinyl is the ‘Total Experience”. You take the time flipping the record, reading the album inserts, the awesome artwork (can be displayed in your music room), even cleaning the records. It’s just a more relaxing and intimate way to enjoy music and given the crazy world we live in now, I so look forward to spinning records for a few hours. BTW - Awesome show guys! Cory is awesome🤘🤘🤘
Wow, Corey Taylor seems like one of the nicest guys in the world so cool so down to earth I definitely like to check out slipknot you guys you're doing a great job fantastic
I still play LPs on my programmable turntable. CDs are great, too. Since I don't always have cell coverage, I have about 8000 songs on my phone. One way or another, there will be tunes.
My top 6 Theatrical Bands Honorable Mentions Mudvayne, Marilyn Manson and King Diamond 6. Rob Zombie 5. Gwar 4. Ice Nine Kills 3. KISS 2. Alice Cooper 1. Slipknot
Hey gang.....love your format!!!!....In my opinion about the whole Mustaine thing.....I can't believe he is still hurting because I prefer Megadeth over METTALICA because he stayed true to the music....Mustain didn't have to sellout ...aka The Black Album.....the Megadeth albums are consistent and strong!!!!
I think the cassette thing already came and went. I remember around 2017 tapes were enjoying a moment again and I started seeing them pop up but I don't really see it much since then. I don't often see them in stores. I don't see people on social media post about tapes like they do with vinyl. It was a quick little nostalgia thing but it didn't replace the millennial affection towards vinyl.
Saw the Pledge of Allegiance tour when I was a youngster and that was super influential as a guitarist. Would love to see Slipknot and Mudvaye Tour again...
Another great episode! Corey seems like a "rad dude". I'm glad you guys are back to arguing about music like the good ol' TMS days! 🤣 But now it's harder to understand when you speak over each other on wi-fi.
"Totally rad" Corey comes off as a bit of a punk. Love the music though. I was hoping you guys had talked a little bit about this extreme album and how it may impact the rock landscape. I think we can now say that Nuno is Numero Uno
I like how Corey scoffs at the "big wigs" who destroyed the vinyl pressers. Well, duh. Were they supposed to just let those machines sit around for 20 years and hope records became cool again?
@@blutomindpretzel1735 Yes, Wagner played lead on Sweet Pain as well as acoustic on Beth and Great Expectations. Bob Kulick didn’t play on Destroyer but did play guitar on all tracks except Rocket Ride and Anyway you want it on Alive 2 side four.
Corey and his comment about Elon Musk was unprofessional & he sounds really misinformed. Also if he really cannot find a cd player, he should buy a dvd or blu-ray player, they play cd's perfectly.
Sounds like from his comment about Musk that he leans far left - The people in that group cannot stand Musk. Just my opinion - I don’t want a political war to break out in the comments
I don't believe that hearing story with Brian, im guessing when Malcolm passed a big part of his income would have to be renegotiated within the band and co, id say brian may have wanted his fair cut as Malcolm and Angus were probably on the biggest share within that band and malcolms huge share would have to be re distributed or renegotiated. Im sure his family still gets something but hardly his full amount, and Stevie would probably just be on a big salary as a hired musician.
I love cds and lps, I can`t decide what I love most. I buy more cds though, easier to order from othe countries. Cassettes I cannot stand. I have cassettes that I cannot play anymore, they are not everlasting.
The most shocking thing about Nikki’s bass parts is that a 12 year old can play them. You guys aren’t musicians. I can’t express to you enough, how easy those parts are. We’re not talking about guitar solos here. Half the time he’s thumping away on one note!!! It’s mind boggling that he could be so bad that he couldn’t even do that!!!
In this Moment for theatrical
I don't know what's worse, interviewers always asking Mustaine about Metallica, or fans thinking they have to pick a side and can't like both bands!
Right, you can like both bands, just like people can enjoy Van Halen and Van Hagar.
Megallica rules
@@Rob_Kates van Hager should be illegal
Hard to pick, but lean towards thinking you can’t like both bands being worse.
@@2004Terminator I think you're right! 👍🏼👊🏼🤘🏼
Thank you SO much for a show without ads DURING the actual show! I can actually be productive without interruptions as the show plays.
CD guy here, but I do love to see the come back of physical media, love the look of vinyl but I prefer the clean sound of 💿

FYI - That amphitheater Corey is talking about is Dos Equis Pavilion (Starplex to us old-schoolers) and is at FAir Park in downtown Dallas.

Most Vinyl today isn't Analog anyway, it's a digital recording pressed into vinyl. CD-$11.99 and vinyl $35. I'll take my CDs
I 100% agree

Twisted Sister and Screamin' Jay Hawkins...and Plasmatics as well. Definitely.

Favorite Ozzy story...shitting in a plant in the hotel lobby, manager walks by, Oz says "It's okay, I'm staying here.."😂
Haha! Good stuff! Ozzy cares about plants and insists on using his own fertilizer - respect!

Early insane Clown posse for theatrical. The Mentors (masks), Mushroom Head, Motograter great theatrical.
Slipknot, INK, Avatar, Kiss, Zombie. Alice my 6 pack of theatrical bands

Wondering how they are doing the show at noon Eastern next week when that is the start time for Eddie's SiriusXM show.
Can you guys work out doing the show when Feddie isn't available? That would be great!
Dick Wagner played guitar on the KISS “Destroyer” album. Eddie should’ve known this.
not every song. Just the solo on Sweet Pain. I think Bob Kulick was in the studio too

Forgot to mention speaking of AI stuff, the band Frostbite Orckings. All AI but it's good.
Pat Paradise Rock Station likes this video! I play Corey Taylors latest single, it's good
Mushroomhead or Mudvayne would be a good choice for theatrics too

You can play a CD on a DVD player
Can you play most CDs on a DVD player? Thanks.
And Blu-Ray.
May not be TMS but this is just as good. How about Netflix getting rights for it
Ed!!Watain is "Black Metal".Death metal is camo shorts n rock shirts.
Angus lives in Amsterdam not Australia as far as I know.

Yes, Noel Monk's book is great, the Eddie Van Halen "problem" is amusing but he suffers as hell.
What's up with Corey's speech? I've never noticed him having a lisp before. Has it always been there?
Judas Priest was pretty theatrical back in the day too
I just bought a home CD player for my old school console. Poor Corey doesnt know about eBay? They are not expensive either
