Hello Paul. Sorry, I didnt get back to you in good time. Threats normally affect research designs. However, you must ensure that your instruments will collect valid & reliable data if not your confidence on the findings will be threatened. I will discuss validity and reliability in lecture 19-25
The Pygmalion effect -high expectations lead to improved performance in a given area. The effect is named after the Greek myth of Pygmalion, a sculptor who fell in love with a statue he had carved. Robert Rosenthal- Rosenthal effect the situation in which an investigator's expectations about the outcome of a given study unwittingly affect the actual study outcome
