she's defo got those scat skills Tim, you'll discover more as you go through her catalog. I look forward to your reaction to 1) Brit awards 2024 medley & 2) Oscar winning tears at royal albert hall
I bought Rayes Live album after hearing Oscar winning tears at The Royal Albert Hall and i didnt even have a record player it affected me so much. Raye never sings a song the same way twice she mixes ut up everytime a true artist. So much to recommend 1) singing James Browns Its a mans ,mans world live at Montreux Jazz festival 2) SNL performance Escapism into Genesis. 3 Medley at the Brit awards 4) Tiny desk performance Enjoy your Raye Journey
After listening to that song and its message, i felt i needed to send Raye a hug, and let her know i felt her pain. I also wanted to send one to you Tim for understanding and feeling the message too. So brave and beautiful.
Instant sub - since I discovered RAYE four months ago I watched nearly any reaction to her I could get my hands on, and yours is one of the best I've seen, both knowledgeable and emotionally permeable and compassionate, your reaction has got everything I wish for when watching reactions to my favorite artists, thank you! RAYE for me is the most fascinating vocal artist of our days, of course there are quite a few excellent singers out there, but RAYE's tone and style, but also her lyricism, her honesty, her mixture of strength and vulnerability, her connection with her musicians and audience make her very very unique, her musicality, versatility and vocal prowess lead to every performance of her being an extraordinary pleasure to watch and listen to, she never sings a song the same way twice. As I read through the comments on your reaction I know you already got a path lined out to follow, so I won't give another suggestion here, Oscar Winning Tears live, Brit Awards Medley and Genesis MV are certainly all worth your attention and reaction, but she has so much more to offer, so I do hope you'll fall in love with her just as much as I did and will keep reacting and thus promoting her over a longer period, really love your way of doing a reaction and breakdown... Peace and love from BavaRAYEa!
P.S.: For anyone who's interested, five min. ago RAYE uploaded a video of her full set at Montreux Jazz Festival in August, 1:11:22 of musical bliss... Ice Cream Man was part of that set as well, starts at 21:47... th-cam.com/video/4GRfxJiQeyM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ViDuiw3_ZbOcUjCG
Raye and Faouzia have given me so much hope that true talent, authenticity, creativity, originality and live performance will not just survive, but thrive in music. They are both absolute queens 💙
Man that was powerful. Kudos to her for even putting that out there like that. It's really a beautiful song. I'm def gonna check out more of her stuff!!
I'm with the people who are requesting Oscar Winning Tear at the Royal Albert Hall!! Also, I don't know if anybody said it already, but she dropped recently a live album/ep from her performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Hope you have the chance to check it out, even only by yourself.
Thank you so much for listening to this! The one thing I've taken away from your videos most is how important feeling is, so I knew it'd be special to you how raw and emotional it is in its content let alone the effort she puts into conveying it. Also, thank you for what you said about SA and abuse in general. Being blunt and raw is in her nature and she does this with many songs; she sings about feminism, drug addiction, alcoholism, sobriety, body dysmorphia, climate destruction. I think she is a powerhouse who stands out from every artist in her generation because as an independent artist, multi-instrumentalist and singer, she has both this unimaginably solid songwriting coupled with vocal abilities which are unmatched. I think she will be remembered as one of the greats. I highly, highly recommend watching her cover of 'It's A Man's Man's Man's World' at the Montreux Jazz Festival for a bit of a vocal showcase. P.S. you're exactly right about the scatting. 😅
i’m so happy to see you finally reacting to raye..! she is one of the best vocalists of this generation in my opinion - other good performances are her covers of it’s a man’s world, feeling good and her songs the thrill is gone and escapism (but the acoustic version). on a separate note, i really would love to see you react to a song called ‘singularity’ by V of BTS - it’s a korean “kpop” song, but it’s more under the neo soul/r&b genre, and his voice has a really interesting texture to it. i’ve not heard any voice like it and i’d love to hear what you think of it! try not to let the kpop genre scare you - because this dudes voice is so different and soulful!! anyways great reaction and i love to watch your reactions !! :) sending support from taiwan!
Very rarely comment on reaction videos what kind sir, you deserve recognition for both the emotional and technical response. I'll keep an eye out for more Raye
Please do more Raye and alsooooo English girl group FLO incredible vocals in live performances id love for you to break down their live vevo performances for bending my rules, losing you and feature me, they’re incredible
OT from vocals. Raye: If you can please DO put the ones in prison who deserve it. It is very hard to do, but it's NOT ruthlessness to save other eleven-year-olds from him.
Amazing 1st reaction to Raye 🙂 This is my first time seeing your channel, and I have subscribed for more. Down the line I may even suggest another REALLY good singer for you, Norwegian Angelina Jordan. I know your skill set and experience can handle it. Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
I expect that as a vocal coach you most likely are familiar with Brandi Carlile. She has a wonderfully distinctive vocal style that has some big, almost operatic moments and delivers very powerful emotion. A prime example, The Joke, official live studio version, 2017: th-cam.com/video/2adTSxUqnc4/w-d-xo.html Bringing the house down at the Grammys with a similarly impassioned but technically less perfect performance of it: th-cam.com/video/KJqL1yIm9e0/w-d-xo.html If by chance you haven't heard The Joke before, I promise, you'll love it.
Oh yes, I love the joke! I have taught that song many times. I agree it would be great to react to her. She is such an interesting and incredible vocalist.
The thing I LOVE about Raye is she’s the closest vocally to Amy Winehouse. That’s all I think of when I see her perform and hear her. Obviously Amy was much more deep and sultry. But maybe it’s a Brit thing. But yeah. 😌
would you ever consider listening to a kpop song?? pls react to singularity by V of BTS !!! his voice is so different from other voices in the kpop industry - it’s like and velvet
This song is so special to me something like this happened to me when I was younger I didn't till anyone till this year, but I do still dream about it and how I could have changed it Raye is my new favorite artist I hope and pray others get help soon I wish I did because I was angry with myself my mom and God for a long time I'm slowly opening up to men I was scared of my uncle for years thinking he was just like him because I thought all men where the same but I'm realizing I was wrong life goes on and the past is the past you can't change it just move forward and keep your head up. ❤
Oscar winning tears live at royal Albert Hall next for raye 😊
On it. 💛✨🙏🏼
👍👍👍
I second that !
Yes please, this. Its amazing.
Yes agree!
Don’t know how anyone could not be moved by her honesty. She’s so powerful and true. Thank you for your reaction
I love this reaction and song. Such powerful song. I think you’d really enjoy her performing Oscar Winner Tears Live at Royal Albert Hall.
Yep, lots of request for that one already! On the list. 🙏🏼
she's defo got those scat skills Tim, you'll discover more as you go through her catalog. I look forward to your reaction to 1) Brit awards 2024 medley & 2) Oscar winning tears at royal albert hall
Thanks so much, added it to the list
@@TimWelchVocalStudio like Ren and Chinchilla, Raye is pure talent and emotion
Raye is a force. There is no world where she doesn’t become a super star. Independent too, her first self released album just like Chinchilla.
I love that!

I also thought about buying her vinyls even without owning a record player... eventually I will, just to support her and put them on my wall...
After listening to that song and its message, i felt i needed to send Raye a hug, and let her know i felt her pain. I also wanted to send one to you Tim for understanding and feeling the message too. So brave and beautiful.

yep - girl dad here with a big lump in my throat, and tear-dampened cheeks. The way she says "I'm a very very very brave, strong woman", ugh.
