This choreo/dance practice was so amazing and a surprise for us armys and just watching the guys goes and shows that they still have the passion for what they love and do even after 10 years

You are totally right this type of music & choreography is really their CORE since their debut👌 and the outfits of the dancers is the outfit of their debut days😊
For sure. I'm not gonna lie, I've not kept up with BTS too much in recent years because I personally felt like their style changed too much from what I liked back then... and then they released this. A song that is reminiscent of their past. All of my former emotions and memories flooded back in. I'll always love them, even if I don't keep up with them as much as before.
@@Cristyface As RM said in their last festa dinner, when PTD, Butter came out he felt like " Is this still BTS? he's frustrated bcoz it's kinda like he lost his "creativity" bcoz of the toxic demand of music in kpop industry. We all know they've been working non-stop they just have few breaks so no room for improvement & creativity. So RM felt BTS lost their true essence & what their group is all about.
@@unique05 I'm glad he felt this way too. Trust me, those songs weren't inherently bad. In fact, Butter is a really fun and catchy song! But I remembered BTS with their creative concepts, their hard hitting songs, their songs expressing the pain of growing up and navigating through life. That, to me, feels like the heart of BTS. I hope this hiatus will bring new, fresh, and authentic ideas to the members so they can explore who they really want to be.

@@unique05 as as they said, this time they need to be "lazy" to fulfill their soul, but in another hand, they really love to do music, art, and performance from stage to stage together, so as they said they need to fulfill themselves, so BTS can keep run and run for very long long time.
P. S I am so happy to find photos of Jin in Military Service that seems he make many new good friends there, as his personality and other reasons, he didn't have many friends, but since several months before his enlistment, he started make new friends, like he went to some tv shows and he enjoyed it. Like a show where he made Korean tradional alcohol with an expert man, he loved it and since that they become friend, the man even mention want to see Jin in his camp, and he make many drinks for Jin so Jin can give them to his family and members when he finish this military service.
Jin is achievement goals for sure. I mean, anyone who thinks they have two left feet, all they need to do is watch Jin and all the work he put in and they'd realize if they put in the same amount of work too, they'd have a successful outcome. It's inspiring to see someone who was only hired for their pretty face, going on to singing and dancing stardom.
70 year old army here. We can again thank Sienna Lalau for this choreo. I know you know her but for those who don't: She choreographed and performed in "ON - Kinetic Manifesto Film at the age of 18. She also choreographed and performed in J-hope's historic record breaking show at Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago last August. Love her!!!
IMO, nobody has more swag than J-hope. After his solo show at Lolla, he is now the coolest. If you haven't watched it, you really need to. In it's entirety including the introduction.
They performed "Run BTS" second after they opened with "Mic Drop" at their recent "Yet To Come" Concert in Busan. Those two songs back to back are worth watching.
They will all be enlisted by mid-2023 in order for them to be able to reunite by 2025 which is their plan.
Jin said he will be on the front line by his birthday Dec 4th.
Don’t forget the ever iconic Dionysus!!!! ARMYs global head banging anthem 😆 Sienna will always be dear to our hearts for the amount of thirst traps she has produced for us.

V did not catch the bandana RM threw. V had his own one. The one RM threw fell on the floor and one of the dancers took it. But still it looked like a magic and the performance is great and I love it.

Jungkook starting majority of BTS music… he really is the king of intros!!! But I love all the interaction with them together .. high giving and stuff together and just being BTS… I love it
Little fun fact: there is a part of the choreo where the members slap their face (seen at the 12:51 mark of this video) but Jin chooses to just boop his cheeks instead, as he has been known to take very good care of his face. I just find that part so sweet 🥺
The use of backup dancers wearing bandanas as masks brings a lot of texture to the piece. The way the bandanna's were tied reminded me of the Kathakali masks, especially the white elephant masks, in the dancing for the video for Kandukondain Kandukondain's "Konjum Mainaakkale", starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
About Jimin's swag and his animated clothing. I realized by watching the Busan concert live of this choreo, plus this practice, that his torso is so stable and centered that everything connected to it is flying around like crazy, including his clothing. His strength and proprioception are far beyond what we see in most dancers. And I think that that comes from his martial arts background. He has his innate gifts, but I think the Taekwondo in particular gave him the additional gift of learning how to control his body with force and focus.

Sienna choreographed this, but I think there were others as well. A LOT of the choreo in this is from previous choreos they've done (or versions of) as an homage to their journey.

It is truly amazing the amount of effort that was put into creating this dance, ostensibly for a single performance of the song, at their Busan concert. But then why am I surprised- this is BTS after all! Sienna's choreo perfectly reflects the lyrics which talk about how hard they worked on their journey to the top. The whole performance is full of impact on every level. Thanks for taking time to appreciate it.💜
Let's take a moment to appreciate how good Jin is here. He and the guys like to make fun of how stilted he is naturally (the crossing guard dance 😂), but he has become a damn fluid professional dancer over the years. And he had an incredibly short learning curve.
The sweater choreo was my favorite and you highlighting the bandana choreo also made me just be like dang these background dancers were just putting in work. So cool to keep learning new things from this dope practice.
Thank you for spotlighting the backup dancers. I think one of the reasons for BTS’ huge success is their use of lots of backup dancers from the beginning. Costs more but adds to the overall performance big time.
the bandana switchoff illusion gives be so much nostalgia because it reminds me so much of the wabp2 hat switch off illusion! if you watch closely, taehyung already had a bandana in his hand and just flicked it up the same moment namjoon's did

So amazing ~ I’m glad you went back to appreciate the footwork in slo-mo. I love when JHope calls out their names and they come out from behind him in the order he calls them. The back-up dancers dancing while basically blindfolded is over the top. Suga’s part is magic. I love everything about this dance practice!!! 💜💜💜

It seems that RIEHATA is added to the choreography, the same as during the Mic drop! RIEHATA is famous in the K-pop neighborhood, including BTS, and seems to be joined by various artists.
Glad I watched this bcs when it comes to BTS performances I always wondered why they stood out and just captivate everyone's attention and you just answered it. Like you said their performances or choreography gives the members a chance to introduce themselves, and show their individuality and charisma while also showing this chemistry between the members. It's like watching a movie, each character is introduced and we feel connected to them bcs of their charm and etc, the scenes flow seamlessly.

The backup dancers are doing their parts while BTS is catching their breath and getting ready for the next chorus where BTS will have to go hard on the dancing/singing.
The first bandana throw from RM to V was a trick. If you look closely a backup dancer on the right, has 2 bandanas right after the throw, and watch V move up behind RM. You can glimpse a bandana already in V's hand. It took a slo-mo watch to figure it out though. lol
enjoyed your POV. First dancer I've seen that totally see's it, plus isn't so jealous they downplay when BTS does. Backup dancers are amazing, no peripheral vison.

Brilliantly performed by all. I was drawn to BTS 9 years ago because of their unique style of dancing. I loved their music although I didn’t understand Korean. They have given 110% performing and it’s easy to recognise why they are now a global phenomenon. I’ve watched them grow from teenagers especially JK, into fine upstanding gentleman. Also you can feel their respect for one another. They each have specific talents and it’s brilliant how these all meld together. BTS forever 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 BTW thank you for your commentary.

seeing that. With blinding stage lighting and psychedelic back lighting it was hard to watch. And the camera angle...very few wide shots and mostly filmed from the waste up. That's why dance practices are so important...you get to see everything! I had never seen that 3 step sweep sequence before. I loved it. Some are calling it the "skateboard". Being a choreograper I fell in love with them the first time I saw them dance "On" at Grand Central Station. It's another one of Sienna's electric choreographies! Brilliant and Dynamic and Explosive and Energy Plus from the start to the finish. My opinion. BTS's best performance in choreography ever!. Best Choreography of any idol group ever. BEST Rock song of BTS ever to date!. I look forward to more of your reactions. Sienna also choreographed "Dionysus" and their latest Grammy performance of "Butter"!

I though V caught RM's bandanna too. Till I watched it like 20 times and I realized V already has his bandanna walking up. The bandanna RM threw is on the floor to the right being swept up by a background dancer. Still a cool move and it works in the dance studio, but on a live stage outdoors? The smallest gust of wind and that bandanna is half way across the stage.

I noticed things through watching your reaction. Like when RM throws up the bandana, V does not catch it! It lands on the floor and the backup dancer retrieves it, and you see the dancer now holding 2. V has his own bandana he pulls out to make it seem like he caught it.
Also, at the very end, when RM is standing on the platform, the two sides are divided up by the maknae and hyung lines!!! So many cool little details

I think Hobi is an all rounder, and I am a Jimin bias too. Hobi seems to move more smoothly and precisely more than the others with all different types of dances but Jimin is great as well!

I presume you are not a dancer, so you just go around with other words for Jhope and Jimin dance.
Jhope and Jimin have different radiant and vibe in dancing. Indeed Jhope is sleeker in swag, but Jimin movement always a combined between supple and strenght, might due his basic is contemporer dance and well trainned in martial art.
If you look into detail in run BTS chreo, you will understand. Just like Jhope bounched and Jimin was firm in their steps. These two gave different vibes, Jhope looks lighter and Jimin looks spunkier. So this is not about who is better but their own dance styles.
Felt bad for jimin bc he couldn’t get his foot down flat like the others during the chorus choreo where they did the heel toe heel toe and back step… like the first one is maknae line and tae and jk were able to plant their feet flat but jimin didn’t seem to be able to but I always love his dancing and def has his own style. Poor thing looked miserable during this though lol looked like he was gonna pass out… bet they did this so many times before finishing recording.. I duno how they do that

@@ashleyestrada81 it's kinda funny how some armys wanna discredit jimin as a dancer, he is not just "great", his versatility is unmatched, he has experience in contemporary, modern, hiphop, popping, etc, and professional dancers always find it unbelievable how a person can master all these crafts and integrate them so perfectly. no one in the kpop industry is at his level

I think the multiple texture is due the choreo being made by many choreographers, I know Rie Hata and Sienna were 2/4 choreographers and contrast between Rie and Sienna’s styles show in the choreo
You highlight things well and the enjoyment from witnessesing the craft on witch you are passionate is enjoyment for us army too

I really loved this reaction video. Not all reactors give enough credit or attention to the back up dancers. They are very much vital in making the performances more enticing to watch. The transitions were insane. Your comment about the back up dancers with their eyes covered by their bandanas, just reminded me of Jimin and Jhope’s “Boy Meets Evil MAMA 2016” duo performance. Not sure if you’ve seen or reacted to it already, but watching this Run BTS dance is very nostalgic. Jimin was blindfolded then, but he was still in sync with Jhope.

The heel toe slide move (I don’t know what else to call it, it’s been awhile) reminds me very much of something you’d see in tap. Which then could totally have its origin in African dance.

Jin threw handkerchief and it landed on floor here in the practice. In the performance, he wadded it so it could reach the dancers.

Did you know that the scarf RM supposedly threw is not the same one V used in this video? IT means that V is already holding a scarf and it is the scarf that he threw to Jin. A backup dancer catches the other scarf, that RM threw. Watch the DP again guy,s and you will notice it. The backup dancer gave a nice save.
