Hello everybody! Welcome here If you are news! 🔥 Please, don't spoil in the comments, no spam, no links, no politic, no advertising etc and respect Teddy's will. You can debate among yourselves but without any spoilers. Thank you and enjoy her reaction with with this ep of Haikyuu ! 😌
You definitely should NOT underestimate what it takes to be a ball boy! So many people think this arc is boring and other things, but IMO is one of the best things that could happen to this show. As always, really hyped to keep watching this new season with you Teddy!
@@ted2885 I wont lie, when I watched the episodes as they were coming out I felt like it was slow (I really wanted more every week haha!) but definitely not boring. I am now super appreciative of them exactly how they are though, some of the most important growth episodes in the series.
I like how this arc gives Hinata to see things from other points of view (outside the court) and take the time to absorb the basics. Idk if this is mentioned in the anime (probably in season 3?), Daichi was a ball boy in his first year too, and now look how good his recieving skills are. It shows that being a ball boy isn't merely running errands.
shiratorizawa coach actually is doing nice in these episodes. Being a ball boy will teach Hinata some discipline (and btw he really needs it) Actually I respect the coach for this decision (to make Hinata ball boy)
The thing is, Hinata is now doing the exact thing he was supposed to do from the beginning since he had no volleyball preparation. But because Karasuno needed his and Kageyama's attack, they skipped this part. That's also why Hinata still has no technique whatsoever. He can just spike and jump, but his blocking, serves and receives are horrible. That's also what Ukai is talking about when he says they limited what Hinata is doing in the team.
I mean, that’s not really true. It’s just a platitude that doesn’t apply to everything. A ton of people lie their way to the top without ever working for it. People are given positions of power just based on who they know, regardless of experience (as unfortunately evidenced by U.S. politics and companies, as well as dozens of other countries). There are countless examples of this “truth bomb” being straight up false. It works for Hinata, because you need more than one skill to be good at volleyball, but it certainly isn’t applicable to everything. Hell, we see in plenty of teams in this show and other sports anime, and real life, that guys get positions on court just because they’re tall.
@@SnailHatan Yeah, they get positions because they're tall, but you're missing the point of it. Takeda says, "He who climbs the ladder must begin at the bottom." In order to be a truly good player, you have to start at the foundations. Yeah, some tall guys get positions because they're tall, but we see in this series that the people who are good just because of their height aren't actually good players. They're strong, sure. But Takeda is saying that for Hinata to reach his goal, for him to play in the pros, he needs to go back to the basics. This is a common arc in media around sports; 'geniuses' who excel on physical talent alone for a long time, and then when presented with someone they cannot beat, have to go back to the basics and actually learn the sport. This is also what happens in season two with the Minus Tempo Quick. Hinata gets far with raw physicality, but has to go back to the bottom of the ladder to get any higher, so to speak. Also, any "truth" can be false in a specific circumstance. Outside of the laws of gravity and similar Truths, all truths are subjective to the person and context.
Hinata will definitely grow here in this training camp in more ways than before. Also, really applaud Hinata here for finding his path and carrying himself up to make the most of being a ballboy. It really requires so much of patience and hard work.
"To become a god at something , you must follow proper steps"-sensei. To become good at volleyball you need to have the very basic fundamentals about the game very clear, before you can touch the ball.
I like all the constant reminders that Hinata needs to be humbled at this part of the story, even though we initially don't think so because we want to watch him succeed. But as Ukai himself said, they were too focused on polishing the duo Hinata-Kageyama that they forgot to nurture Hinata on his own individual skills. Because aside from mid-air battles, he really can't do anything else, and if the team's going to stand against national level players, that needs to change.
The answers are coming... In the end, all will make sense jejejeje. Furthermore, I believe that this arch it really speaks of the importance of realizing that we should be humble and begin from the very bottom to keep improving.
As a former ball girl, some of the best on-court lessons I learned were while I was off-court, observing and taking in information. It doesn't seem like practice, because we (collectively) have this view that practice = physical exertion/action, when practice can be honing one's craft in any way possible. Volleyball is both a physical and a mental game. Take Kageyama, for instance. He has all the physical action needed for his role at his age, but he lags behind in EQ when it comes to his teammates. Similarly, Hinata is physically skilled (at least in mid-air battles and with agility), but he's not yet analyzing the position of those on the other side and adjusting to that. Thus, Hinata lacks IQ. That's why, at this point, Hinata is reliant upon Kageyama. If both ever achieve both high EQ and high IQ, they'll become as Nekomata-sensei said, "Two oni," that will be nearly unstoppable.
A small throwback to Season 3 when Goshiki was yelled at the most by Washijo sensei, it was because Washijo sensei counted on him the most. Take that as you will 😉
Everything going on now is so pivotal for Hinata's growth as a player. He's always been focused on spiking and having a genius setter like Kageyama masks all his other short comings. Ushiwaka asking Hinata What are you even going reminds me of what Kageyama said to him in the first episode after their junior high match. "What have you been doing the last three years?"
Not sure if anyone mentioned, but ballboy is actually so important with efficient volleyball practice sessions. Landing on a volleyball after jumping or having one slip you up risks career ending injury; so although most smaller gym users just take extra time to wait balls out or pick up after themselves, any sort of high level training like shown here would have ball boys to pick up after the players, keeping them safe and letting them concentrate on good practice.
I said this when Hinata and Kagiama got into a fight and the statement still holds true. This is a school sport and no one wants to teach Hinata. He has been alone for years trying to learn how to play. As of now... he is a tool for Kagiama's ability and not his partner. How can he be surrounded by volleyball players/ teachers and still be told you can't learn during training camp? He always has to find a different way while being talked down to. Yet his enthusiasm inspires all around him. Just giving a different perspective... and hope it gets everyone thinking.
The thing about the 2m tall guy was a joke at the expense of Noya's bad kanji, as mistakenly read Hyakuzawa (百沢) as Manzawa (万沢), presumably because both first kanji are numbers (100 vs 10,000) and he got confused which was which.
"He who climbs a ladder must begin at the bottom" remember this line cleary anime onlys cause it's gonna be thrown at you at such a moment in the future that you won't be able to hold back your tears and snot.
I quite like this episode, the hardship hinata face and we see hinata really struggling to keep it together. Is something new to see cause hinata is usually the happy go lucky one. This episode show a new light on what actually inside of hinata's head as he struggle hard
This training arc is not gonna let ma boi hinata down. This is his chance to observe the game closer and and learn better now that he is actually playing in a proper volleyball team. There's a reason why the coach didn't want him to play, he want him to observe cuz hinata right now is playing on pure reflex, instinct and sometimes luck. You'll see the results later on and it's gonna be beautiful.
going back to my thoughts about episode 1... i immediately texted my friends who had seen the show before and i was like "guys... help i need a minute.... the second-hand embarrassment is too strong." i'm really sensitive to stuff like that and when i saw that hinata had snuck in i was *mortified* and had to be talked into watching episode 2 lol
7:56 i have to agree, it hurts soooo much :(( it's not that those players that are chosen or kageyama being chosen means that they don't deserve to be in there but to see hinata grasping or searching in luck for those opportunities or chances to get better is really hard. but hey, this is life! we get opportunities, rejections

I really like this arc tbh. Cuz it gives Hinata to absorb more basic skills that he’s supposed to know when he started
Some actually skipped this arc because they think its embarrassing but for me this is my fave arc 💕

"He who climbs the ladder must begin at the bottom." Takeda sensei driopping truth bombs
as always

Small detail: remember that when coach yelled at Goshiki, Ushijima told him that coach yells at him more because he expects more of him.
It’s alright to watch the intro:))
"To become a god at something , you must follow proper steps"-sensei.
To become good at volleyball you need to have the very basic fundamentals about the game very clear, before you can touch the ball.
Tanaka said, "Make sure you learn a new move or something."
You will realise it at the end of this season, can't wait for you to react to that. ;)
Lol the amount of denial Teddy is in for Hinata to join the camp practice is hilarious. 😂
I think you can watch the intro!! And so happy to see you've come so far in the Haikyuu journey

2:45 you will see the impact of being the ballboy later episodes.
Thank to this episode is the reason because we cry in the last ones.

Hey Teddy, you can watch the OP, there are no spoilers in it
There are also no spoilers in the next one

This arc is fundamental. It plays a huge role in Hinata's character development and even in final of manga.

My son swallowed his pride to join that training camp. I hurt so much for Hinata here.

"Don't underestimate a ball boy"
wathcing all these episodes back make me appreciate what washijo-sensei made hinata do: watching the game from outside the court
xd
ball boy arc, besto arc
Many people find this boring but this is the best arc for me growing:)
Don't go underestimating what it takes to be a ball boy.

is it me or just that in s3...daichi did undergo as a ballboy in between practices of his senpais?
Yes, Furudate-sense loves to use little hints like that. :)
