Oh my goodness! You two were SO cute together! In a purely platonic way of course. Seeing Bob get so flustered by how well Amy knew the snakes and how much she admires the channel was touching and made me giggle at the same time. Btw Amy, I love the happy bounce you did when he said he would show you the babies. You definitely deserved to see them after getting 100% on the Snakes of the Green Room Quiz plus the bonus questions thrown in to try to stump you but you nailed as well. This was a super fun video *and* we got to see all of your snakes in it, besides the babies and we even got a little peek at some of them! I truly enjoyed every minute of this video. I like really want to know how much money you spend on your snakes monthly I loveee them they're so cute alsoo Amys knowledge of genetics is extraordinary!
Once they're set up, it's just a matter of the cost of 2-4 rodents a month per snake. You might have a vet bill or two over the course of their life, but definitely cheaper to maintain than if I had 18 cats ;-)
Is it possible to continue to feed rat pinkies even as your pythons grow, rather than mice and small to medium rats, or is that a big no-no? Because the reason I don't have a snake, is that once the prey looks like pets I can't will myself. I have had rats and they're so smart it is very challenging.
The prey size needs to increase as the size of the snake increases. Rat pinkies are too small for even the smallest baby ball python. I feed frozen thawed which is much more comfortable than feeding live prey to a snake
@GreenRoomPythons I think I'm fated to have only domestic snakes, or small lizards then that can have insect, pinky and/or fish based diets... I also love a tortoise but worry about being outlived by my pets...
I have a female ball python I got November 2020 at an expo, this is when I was getting back into ball pythons and I haven’t had one since the 5th grade, after experience I realized she was very slim for her size and when I first got her she seemed she had she’d skin stuck to her that was difficult to remove so I had to soak her and it finally came off, she also had a scratch that went away over time, basically the guy who had her did not take care of her well. I even looked up his shop and he had bad reviews. My snake is a female pastel vanilla spider selling for 500$ wich I now realize is ridiculous especially since it is just a dominant with two codoms and she wasn’t even healthy. Well she was a picky eater and to this day she is not skinny but she has not really put on any size since then, I got this snake because I wanted to one day breed her but she has difficulty eating consistent and putting on weight. Any advice or experience tips, you can see her size on my channel
No need to force it. I have a couple that I'd love to breed this upcoming season but they aren't consistent enough eaters and probably won't be up to size. It just takes patience - and some just end up better pets than breeders too.

Once they're set up, it's just a matter of the cost of 2-4 rodents a month per snake. You might have a vet bill or two over the course of their life, but definitely cheaper to maintain than if I had 18 cats ;-)

Is it possible to continue to feed rat pinkies even as your pythons grow, rather than mice and small to medium rats, or is that a big no-no? Because the reason I don't have a snake, is that once the prey looks like pets I can't will myself. I have had rats and they're so smart it is very challenging.
The prey size needs to increase as the size of the snake increases. Rat pinkies are too small for even the smallest baby ball python. I feed frozen thawed which is much more comfortable than feeding live prey to a snake
@GreenRoomPythons I think I'm fated to have only domestic snakes, or small lizards then that can have insect, pinky and/or fish based diets... I also love a tortoise but worry about being outlived by my pets...
I have a female ball python I got November 2020 at an expo, this is when I was getting back into ball pythons and I haven’t had one since the 5th grade, after experience I realized she was very slim for her size and when I first got her she seemed she had she’d skin stuck to her that was difficult to remove so I had to soak her and it finally came off, she also had a scratch that went away over time, basically the guy who had her did not take care of her well. I even looked up his shop and he had bad reviews. My snake is a female pastel vanilla spider selling for 500$ wich I now realize is ridiculous especially since it is just a dominant with two codoms and she wasn’t even healthy. Well she was a picky eater and to this day she is not skinny but she has not really put on any size since then, I got this snake because I wanted to one day breed her but she has difficulty eating consistent and putting on weight. Any advice or experience tips, you can see her size on my channel
No need to force it. I have a couple that I'd love to breed this upcoming season but they aren't consistent enough eaters and probably won't be up to size. It just takes patience - and some just end up better pets than breeders too.
@@GreenRoomPythons ok thank you so much for the advice, yes this female is very reserved compared to my other snakes, she seems shy and is not quick to eat but on rare occasions she is ready to eat.
