This team lacks a certain killer instict and aggresivness that finish their matchess. Southgate is easy going man, so the players feel relaxed around him. A killer coach like Mourinho or Pep would humble the big name players quick. You can see that players like Mainoo, Eze, Palmer, Toney have more honger and eagerness to show and give 100% because they want to show their qualities for the squad and the country.

Shame to England always finds it difficult to win after investing billions on foreign players in the UK. It was boring and disappointing to watch such a struggle with a new football team that never played before in a world cup. It was a win but Slovakia played better. We need a new manager and a new team who plays with no fear.
Maybe British kids need to start training early on but sometimes talent is God given and foreign players need to be recruited

The biggest revelation is this is the Euro's, not the WC 🙄 the Czech Republic took part in the lost Euro 96 final and were part of the Czechslovakia team that beat Germany on penos in 76. They have a better pedigree in Euros than England.
Congratulations to England. Supported England when I was a kid in the 1982 World Cup. But, England never won any major championships. Switched support to Italy and Argentina. However, hopefully England will win this time. 🙏

Slovakia performance after going ahead was asking for trouble. They seemed incapable of retaining possession and kept playing stray passess. It emboldened England and one could sense the inevitable.

Germans have 4 world cups, 3 euro cups, 4 times world cup finalists, 3 euro cup finalists buddy!!!! Luck happens only once, like the 1966. Now THAT'S luck. Hopefully this is a turning point. Tripper has to be dropped. He stopped every attack by pausing and turning back yet showed on every move forward to receive the ball. He deserved to be booed as he was doing it by choice. Saka at left back, Palmer right midfield has to be the selection vs the Swiss. Players were ignoring runs all match, that needs to be worked on big time. Mainoo was excellent. Subs fantastic. Palmer is a level above and HAS TO START
After Tripper was loudly booed it seemed to affect him positively and he started looking forward rather than back.
Without Bellingham or Mainoo at centre mid we can't get out of defence and Mainoo was exhausted after a certain point. Eze was good and our hometown striker too.

We got so lucky, and it was embarrassing and shocking that there were no shots on target. We will get kick out next game with Switzerland because they have a system in place.
