Dennis Allen is a huge move and one of the best defensive coordinator on the market that runs a similar style defense. Im not too worried about Doyle since no matter who the OC is it will have a very minimal impact with Johnson being the play caller. I really like this coaching staff.
Geez, You casual fans actually think that play calling is the only Job of the ": offensive coordinator".. play calling is just what they do on Sunday, but throughout the entire season their task list stays full. From coordinating practice, interpreting film, scouting, installing the offense, and actually teaching the offense. And I only named a few of the tasks that are assigned to the OC.
I don’t know who this Declan guy is but I love that he a young dude. He’s going to do exactly what Ben asks of him. He’s probably very ambitious and power hungry. We need young personnel who are going to push modern football on the field. And I’m sure he’ll be fine with staying up late nights reviewing film. I’m tired of old heads on this team. We need high energy people. I’m all for this hire.

I'm glad they kept Hightower and I'm also happy to see they hired Dennis Allen as defensive coordinator, everything is looking really good, but I'm trying not to get too excited until I see some real results, as bear fans during the off-season were always predicting them to be in the playoffs or go to the Super Bowl and then once we're Midway through the season it usually turns out to be a bust. I feel good about what's happening so I'm just hoping that things turn out differently next season but I'm not going to put too much faith into it until I see results.
The other thing that keeping Hightower gives the new head coach is that the special teams coordinator typically has had contact with virtually everyone of the players at one time or another as all but the top stars are potentially in play for his use. So he can be helpful in getting to know more about all of them.
It makes sense that Johnson is utilizing people from the Sean Payton coaching tree since that’s where he gets a lot of his influence from. It’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up against the more typical McVay/Shanahan staffs.
I like the fact Declan got hired, it’s giving a chance for a young man to further his career and resume, and like everyone says BEAR Johnson will be the main man calling the offense anyhow…. Dennis Allen is a great hire, we couldn’t get anyone better, prime age and if everything works out we have the coaching staff for years for the Bears
Oline coach is the most difficult position to hire in the NFL right now. Most the experience/good one's are usually hired by offensive minded HC's, and are made OC...
When you think of what happened last season and how the Bears lost games it seems quite possible the Bears could have been an 8-9 team instead of 5-12. No question Bears lost games because Eberflus’s incompetence and the poor play calling not to mention the loss of control of the locker room. Huge improvement. Hopefully Bears win some games next season especially against division rivals.
I think we’re going to find out Shaw turned the bears down. Shaw is a veteran experienced coach. You just hired Randle El as the WR and asst HC. So you passed him over for HC and then you want him to be a non play calling OC and the WR coach, who would traditionally work for the OC is also the AHC and would likely outrank him. Shaw has done his share of watching film and preparing game plans for other people. He didn’t need to do it again.
Movin' on up. LOL. Love the moves. Not worried about the OC, he is expendable if Ben IS actually calling the plays. They could not get any worse. SMH. I feel a change-a-comin' LOL. Go Bears \ Bear Down.
I definitely think with Allen I’d look for the Bears to draft a safety in the 4th round regardless of Brisker because we need depth there especially one with speed and range. I love Brisker I’m talking someone to develop along with him. By arid is good but you need a guy for him to groom.

Rumor is that Declan Doyle is a nephew of Bears legend Mike Ditka. However, I find that hard to believe given the age difference (57 years) as Ditka is 85 and Doyle is 28.
Hiring a DC that runs a 4 man front will keep resources available to overhaul the offense. This is exactly why I was against Flores. The Bears have to many needs without having to replace defensive starters for a new scheme.
Fundamentals is the base of Football, blocking tackling and so on if ur base is greater that the opponent u face u should win the game in the trenches.
