The only TF I still have is Noir Extreme. I think it's lovely but nothing else I've smelled had made me so interested that I needed to buy it. (I also have a travel size of bitter peach because.. it's weird. Weird can be good. )
The party goer’s description 😂 About discontinuation- might be part of the marketing as well. Scarcity drives demand big time. This is just a guess of course.
One of the better cherry fragrances of late has to be Raw Cherry by Aaron Terence Hughes. I see it as what we wished Tom's cherries would be. Truthfully, though, it really doesn't smell much like either. It's juicy, not too sweet, and the cherry smells very convincing. The star of the show is the combination of dark chocolate, tonka and a genuine Thai oud in the base. They provide a delectable backdrop for the cherry that's not quite gourmand but feels as sinful as reaching for that extra slice of black forest cake. It's one of his scents that I feel really highlights his growth as a perfumer, appealing to both younger crowds and those who appreciate quality ingredients.
I still have lots of Tom Ford’s fragrances of years ago, but none of his most recent ones such as the cherry, peach, etc. The last Tom Ford I purchased was Soleil Blanc. Tom Ford’s brand has always been somewhat controversial, but not as vulgar as his recent named perfumes.
F***ing Fabulous was the turning point for me. TF was always a bit naughty but I considered the line to be classy still. After FF it became vulgar, boring and shockingly overpriced. I‘m spending my money elsewhere. Not to end on a whiney note: happy anniversary Mr. P!! 🎉 We appreciate you more than you can imagine and I love the witty little community here! ❤
I agree on Tom Ford always being vulgar rather than classy...and as a stereotypical guy i of course loved the Neroli Portofino ads. TF knows how to do interesting attention-grabbing imagery with his fragrances, i will give him that.
It's comical that as these two new releases arrive, other houses have already jumped on the racy cherry bandwagon. Everyone from Aaron Terence Hughes and his "Raw Cherry" (obviously riding on the vulgar coattails of TF Private Blend, I find him to be really underwhelming as both a personality and perfumer) to Room 1015 Cherry Punk to Bohoboco Wet Cherry Liquor, again, with an uninventive name. I actually love the taste and smell of cherry, and always thought the idea of merging cherry and tobacco would be great, but now with this trend, I've certainly lost much interest in the note at all.
Alas, I have to completely disagree with you in respect of Aaron Terence Hughes. I think he is a wonderfully gifted perfumer with some fantastic fragrances. He has Aspergers so I think its a bit unfair to criticise his personality. If we all took more time to understand this form of autism then perhaps we would all be a bit more understanding and less flippant with our comments.
@@sandymcconnell1969 That’s fair. I’m neurodivergent myself and it’s just my own opinion. He does quite well for himself so I’m sure my thoughts won’t make much of an adverse impact on him.
I wasn't impressed either. As for the actual state of perfumery, I believe that many brands are unfortunately displaying this kind of fragrance creations. All efforts are put on the top notes and then, like a soufflé, the perfume just falls flat. I also noticed that too many flankers are popping up these last months. As if the brands wanted to make up for lost time due to Covid. Though the perfume industry performed quite well during the pandemic and enlarged its customer base with many newcomers...but this also probably explains that...!
All these & many other perfumery cherry scent recall liquid antibiotic medicines of the 60s. All smell disgusting to me because of this association. Guerlain, TF, Kayali etc. gross
"watch out for Tom's cherries" - this was the best sign off! Cracked me up 😂😂😂 Thanks Mr P ☺️
😉
Thanks for watching.
Nice to see balance restored with a negative review, which are all too rare on TH-cam. Thank you for your frankness.
Thanks for watching, John.

Oh, weird can definitely be good.
Thanks for watching.
Haha! "Watch out for Tom's cherries". I'd rather have his plums (japonaises...I hasten to add!) 🍅🍅
Ha!
I spent £170.00 on a large bottle of vintage My Sin & I am in love, can't stop smelling it!
Enjoy it!
Very unimpressed with this one. Sebastian mentioned shampoo and I'm going to have to agree. I've smelled similar quality in a facial cleanser. 😬
Ah, good to know. Thank you.

Yes, I’m sure there must be something in that.
Thanks, Purvi.

Fascinating description. I hope to be able to try it one day.

Yes, he was certainly never opposed to controversy.
Thanks for watching.
Oh wow! Can’t believe I missed the Live! No worries, happy to watch the replay! Super excited to hear your thoughts on the new Hermès & TF! 😀🙏❤️
Thanks, Rachel.

That’s too kind, thank you.
Yes, FF changed things for me too.
SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON!!! Sire Persolaise is coming for the top of the pops in 2023 🔥
😂 Thanks, Ryan.

Yes, much of the imagery was very striking.
Thanks for watching.
Tom Ford Sold out .. Literally 🐏🍒
I always hope they release at least one worthwhile scent each year.
A baby shampoo that costs a few hundred. Very disappointing.
And thank you for not being dishonest.
Yes - it’s not one of the brand’s best offerings, that’s for sure.
I do love Noir de Noir, Noir for men and, weirdly, Soleil Brûlant, but overall think TF perfumes are overrated and overpriced. Over and out.
I really like those two too.
Thanks for watching.

Yes - there is something of the bandwagon about it.
And I love cherries too 😋
He is indeed very vulgar.
Not for everyone.

@@Persolaise I find Heering Cherry Liqueur to be delicious!
I have zero interest in new Tom Ford releases. It’s sad where the house has gone.
Their direction does seem to have changed lately.

Thanks, Suleika. Yes, it’s certainly not the best TF we’ve had.
The ”bros” I picture buying TF fragrances….
As long as they enjoy them…
All these & many other perfumery cherry scent recall liquid antibiotic medicines of the 60s. All smell disgusting to me because of this association.
Guerlain, TF, Kayali etc. gross
I sometimes get a whiff of cough syrup.
Thanks for watching.
One of the worse releases by tom ford ever
Well… it’s certainly not one of my favourites.
Thanks for watching.
Definitely in agreement with this one. 🫤
Thanks, Laura.
