This isn’t a prequel to the live action films, rather it’s its own standalone story set up for a new animated trilogy. It does take inspiration from a variety of Transformers stories, including the Michael Bay ones (Optimus and Megatron being as close as brothers long ago, Sentinel being a traitor, the Matrix of Leadership being an energon key that dissolves if you are not worthy).
i read it was a prequel to the live action movies tho. just looked it up and double-checked just in case. i think its like a prequal but its a standalone at the same time lol
@@NeedumReacts The main problems with it being a true prequel to the live-action films are that Sentinel was not killed by Megatron on Cybertron (he was killed on Earth by Optimus, millions of years later) and the Matrix was not found on Cybertron (it was found on Earth, millions of years later).
@@NeedumReacts Adding on to his point, The Fallen in the second live action movie (Revenge of the Fallen) is actually Megatronus Prime. Just incase if you didn't know. So that would create some continuity issues if they were connected. And in this version, he looks like he's good in this and didn't "fall"/turn bad, since he was there with the other primes when Orion became Optimus and granted the Matrix of Leadership
Both the director and producer have stated that it's not a prequel to the live action movies. It's a prequel to the franchise overall, and the live action films will share a lot of the lore but there are too many conflicts in the story to be a direct prequel. Consider it as an alternate universe
There are a few differences here compared to previous Transformers origin stories: 1. Megatron usually starts out as a gladiator in the Cybertronian arena whilst Optimus indeed started out as a cogless mining bot called Orion Pax(Actually, Orion was originally an archivist as hinted in the very beginning of the film but when Sentinel and the Quintessons took over, all Cybertronians were forced to mine) and they did indeed start out as best friends who called each other "Brother" due to their shared ideals, however over time Megatron became more militant and power hungry whilst Orion/Optimus held true to the diplomatic and democratic ideals they started out with and was rewarded with the Matrix of Leadership for his integrity which of course intensified Megatron`s hatred of his former brother in arms . 2. The Quintessons are sometimes regarded as the creators or at least conquerors of the Transformers, here they are definitely in the latter category, whilst in the Bay Films they were in the former. 3. Sentinel Prime is usually a true Prime albeit somewhat of a blowhard who exaggerates his accomplishments by stealing the stories of other Primes, here he`s a false Prime and traitor. 4. In this continuity, Megatronus Prime is regarded as a hero by the miners of Iacon, in most continuities he is a traitor who later becomes The Fallen, the first Decepticon. 5. In many past continuities, the cogs were actually used by the Cybertronians` enemies to suppress transformations as opposed to being the medium through which they occurred as shown here.
As a Transformers lore nerd I can say this gets a lot of TF lore down much better than the Live Action movies actually. The main exceptions is the War with the Quintessions usually wasn’t because Sentinel betrayed the Thirteen, usually Sentinel was a true Prime, and Megatronus betrayed and killed most of the Thirteen
This movie is closer to the G1 cartoon than the live action movies. But this movie is it's own universe. No direct connection to any previous versions of transformers shows and movies.
Elita-1 was Optimus girlfriend in the original cartoon. And, she kind of appearing in the live action movies, as the toys indicate one of the 3 motorbike sisters of Revenge of the Fallen is supposed to be her.
5:12 we used to get those with our toys, and it would really come "alive" once you applied it. This one (pun intended) is connected to the original 80s Transformers in so many ways. Don't get me wrong but Bay films are not, they are their own thing, ok for some - unwatchable for me growing up with all this way back when
I was just wondering if Orion Pax didn't say those words to D16 and said something else and say you just like Sentiment Prime? No One wants to be compared to a monster or a corrupted leader.
Elita-1 is the leader of the squad of femme autobots including Chromia, Greenlight, Novastar, and Arcee most famously. Also, TF One isn't a prequel to the Bay movies, it's just generally set before Pax becomes Prime. It's continuity is similar, but distinct, from every other previous iteration of the franchise. It takes certain things from each of them, but it makes a unique iteration of the story all to itself. The 360 games are the critically acclaimed Half Moon masterpieces War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron
Yeah. There's lot of Transformers lore from animations. Quintessons is one part of it. Pretty much alien invaders who want suck Cybertron dry from energon, including from bots. Or that's what I got. 😅 My Transformers knowledge is not too accurate. Umm... there was final credit scene how Decepticons became to be 😅
this transformers one 2024 is all new origin transformers movie. is easy version for any new fan and old fan that never watch many tv series or many comic version. finally they do "The golden age of cybertron" fyi - bayver live action transformers is difference story origin... if you want to know the bayver origin is in comic - megatron and optimus was friend till megatron found out that optimus was a descendant "the Dynasty of Primes" that megatron is jealous and greed of power cause the war.
