Mirrors aren’t good because they essentially think an unresponsive bird they can’t feed or fight has entered their territory.

personality also matters, my cockatiels .... 1 of them is self-obsessed needs his mirror there, as long as he knows it's there he has fun freely, my other cockatiel? doesn't give a damn about mirrors haha. That being said, keep an eye on your borb because the comments about birb getting frustrated at a non-responsive birb in the reflection and such are also things to consider :)

My lil cockatiel Twinkle is somewhat frightened by them, but once she hears a few she will calm down and get fluffy. Then I just give her cuddles lol

My Rainbow Lorikeet is scared of fireworks too. Also thunder and other unexpected loud noises. I tell him what the noise is and say "Mummy always keeps you safe."

My cockatiel, 1922 Ford Model T, is lucky to not live near where fireworks usually go off. Plus, she’s scared of pretty much any noise, so I can’t imagine how fireworks would make her feel. My sweet little girl.
One time, though, we had a really bad hailstorm come in and it really panicked her. I had to sit close with her and keep her calm during all of it. I felt so bad for her luckily though, we haven’t had many hailstorms lately so she has gone quite a while, not having to deal with anything like that. :)

This was just the night before the actual fireworks. But yeah it was a rough two nights for both of us. It's a good thing we don't have to deal with bad hailstorm here. I like the name of your Cockatiel :)

My cockatiels aren't scared of fireworks (we live in AUS but we have a park very close to our apartment and they will set off fireworks during celebrations all year), yeah I was the one who was scared they'd be scared but instead they were like your one a bit at first with their crests up and cautious, after that they just don't care, heck sometimes they will chirp back as a response. Now I have a few theories, besides personality... i think I'm usually just loud myself and the constant clatter of my mechanical keys and such may also contribute haha. I hope your tiel will quickly just go 'meh' at it.
Btw, I can't say this enough how I find it cute and wholesome how you tend to her!

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, you are right they just need to get used to sound. This was her first 4th of July and it didn't help that we live by the stadium where they firework show is held annually lol.
