I’m a gigantic Robert Plant fan for a very long time now. All his interviews are very insightful as well. He has an amazing discography, you should check Robert solo out. He is a beautiful soul, very intelligent and a charming gentleman. I just saw him with Alison Krauss and his voice is still awesome as he has redefined it over the years. He just turned 74 on Saturday this man is an icon. A living legend …the GOAT🐐thanks for the great video. It gets me in the feels just several others do.☮️

Jimmy Page was inducted into the Rock and Roll HOF for his work solely on the Yardbirds. He was later inducted again for Led Zeppelin.
Jimmy Page was the most accomplished session guitarist in London prior to joining the Yardbirds. He performed on more than 600 records across all genres of music. Some of the songs he played on include: Petula Clark's "Downtown," Tom Jones'"It's Not Unusual," and the title song for the James Bond film "Goldfinger."
John Paul Jones was also a highly accomplished session musician prior to Zeppelin. Jimmy and JPJ were master musicians, and Robert and Bonham were basically kids....super talented, but relatively inexperienced.

Helene here. Robert is my favorite male vocalist ever…and a fascinating man. And yet, that is the one song I’ve heard him cover that I do not think his voice is suited for. He sings it in the same fashion as Sinaid O’Conner does, but he lacks the nimbleness of voice and pinpoint accuracy needed for the Celtic style…..IMO. I almost feel guilty saying it, but……..he can’t be brilliant at everything, right?

There are better films to watch on the life and work of Planty. His incredibly close friendship with Bonzo that began in teenage years went unnoticed. Bonzo really held Robert close after his son died, and the impact on Robert of Bonzo's death just a few years later is hard to imagine. Led Zeppelin, for Robert, died with Bonzo - no question. And as much as he loves Jason and admires his work, he told him after the 02 concert that Led Zeppelin can never exist again without his Dad.

His most recent endeavors have made him fairly Tennessee-centric. He is frequently spotted in Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama. He told Rick Rubin, the music producer, that he likes to drive from Nashville down to Clarksdale Mississippi (in his Ford Crown Victoria 😁) and hang out with old school blues guys. About 2 months ago he was hanging out at the Muscle Shoals recording studio in Alabama.

Then make a list of the top 5 guitarists of all time.
3 of them were in the Yardbirds.
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Yardbirds
The Yardbirds are an English rock band, formed in London in 1963. The band's core lineup featured vocalist and harmonica player Keith Relf, drummer Jim McCarty, rhythm guitarist and later bassist Chris Dreja and bassist/producer Paul Samwell-Smith. The band is known for starting the careers of three of rock's most famous guitarists, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck, all of whom ranked in the top five of Rolling Stone magazine's list of 100 greatest guitarists.[4] The band had a string of hits throughout the mid-1960s, including "For Your Love", "Heart Full of Soul", "Shapes of Things" and "Over Under Sideways Down".

The yardbirds, cream, traffic, Blindfaith Pink floyd, and others were part of a second british invasion. They were all commercially successful. It was a new era in rock offering us a change from the Beatles, kinks Hollies etc. from the mid-sixties. Zeppelin grew out of that new music and took it to a top level becoming the greatest band of them all.

Plant attended the LSE as did Mick Jagger. I suppose people attend the LSE in order to cement in their minds how much they don't want to be accountants. Mind you, when you consider how many people in the music business have been ripped off, it's probably a skill that's come in very handy.

The Yardbirds we're a great band. Something you should explore. Managed by Peter Grant, at one time they had Clapton, Beck, and Page as guitarists. When they split up, the Yardbirds still had to fulfill their touring contract, and that's when Page assembled Zeppelin, at first calling them the New Yardbirds. They had a few hits, and were the precursors with their rock/pop/psychedelic sound. Fantastic band.

The Yardbirds were a very good band. Definite listen. How sad for Robert to loose his child. Eric Clapton also had a similar tragedy. 'Tears of Heaven' was a result. An immensely emotional song. I had no idea Robert was influenced by Indian music but it makes sense. But Bonham's loss was tragic! What a series of challenges to overcome. I did not have an idea of the depth of his life. Thank you!
To see a cameo of Plant and his humor watch this interesting 'This Is Your Life' episode for Phil Collins. They are great, long time friends. Phil's dad was an insurance salesman and did not approve of Collins choice of profession. Funny that their dad's were so similar. Both men (Plant and Collins) were/are full of confidence. The Yardbirds where a successful and popular band, though their music sounds pretty dated at this point. By the time Page was in charge of the Yardbirds their popularity had begun to wain some which led to them breaking up, and being reformed as the New Yardbirds/Led Zeppelin. John Paul Jones was never in the Yardbirds but was a successful studio musician.
