I've lived in Simi since 1965 and I'd swear I remember a story from my childhood of a teenager committing suicide in that area. When we were kids we rode our bikes there way before it was a park. Elephant rock was a popular spot when I was like 10-12 years old. It's only been an actual park since the early 90s. But kids have played there for as long as I can remember.

When I was a teenager, I use to ride dirt bikes around this area that you investigated. During that time, I never heard of any Paranormal experiences in this area. So it was kind of a surprise to hear about these legends. This may be due to the fact I was somewhat sheltered from that world at that time. After I left high school, I ended up living on a ranch in Trinity County California, where there were mountain lions. I was always told that it was the ones you don't see you should worry about. During this time I have only seen one, which was walking down in a pasture area below where I was hiking. I did not feel threatened by it at all. In saying this, I wonder if the one you saw was almost like a sign to leave that area. Especially considering the kind of experience you all ended up having. The vibes I got from those kids, was very playful in nature. Even so, I think there was something dark in nature there as well. Very interesting as always.

The guy ended up studying their behavior since then and is now an expert on their behavior. Best interview, and story about Mountain Lion's, I've seen in awhile. It's kind of old but I just recently have seen it. I would have been cautious but I'd be more worried about wild crackheads lmfao 😅
I guarantee you the Mountain Lion wasn't scared at all. If it allowed you to see it, there was a reason. These Cats are super stealthy and allow very few people to see them.

It makes sense that a playground would be haunted or have spirits because, there's people at playgrounds all the time. And from what I've heard, spirits want to, or have to be around the living. So they attach themselves to people they have things in common with. Children spirits will go home with other children spirits. Or, they see a mommy or daddy figure they feel comfortable with. I'm almost positive that I brought a boy spirit, from the 60's or 70's home from the hospital after having my 1st son. Ok, I know I did because I saw him. But I shut that down real quick because I'm the momma bear type. I'm pretty positive he was with us for a couple of years because, there was some strange stuff that would happen. Mainly to me but.. idk if my boys have experienced anything yet. I'd film it, but I'm not trying to give it attention. I have 2 small boys. I have to be careful.

Stay in a group; mountain lions are curious, and knows more than one human is A Bad Thing, very much to avoid, hence its strategically _retreating_ up the hill, _away_ from you... Coyotes are even far more shy. You'll hear them, but rarely _see_ them.
It freaked me out because I was by myself but I didn’t know if there were maybe Cubs nearby or anything and at that point it doesn’t matter. The coyotes are terrible round here. A woman just got attacked by one walking her dog in the area.
I suspect urbanized coyotes are bolder than those farther out in the wild. Camping in the Los Angeles national forest, we could hear coyotes running as quietly as possible through the camp, sometimes yipping. But they never really allowed themselves to be seen. On Sunday as we prepared to leave, somebody pointed out a coyote on the nearby ridge, and it took me the longest time to actually be able to _see_ the motionles standing canine. They we're waiting for us to leave, to see if there were any scraps they could obtain. When I lived in Van Nuys, a neighbour was walking his three small dogs. Out of nowhere a coyote rushed them, snatched up the littlest dog and ran off with it. It was literally so traumatizing, the older dog literally died of a heart attack at home that night. Another night, same street, I was walking with my friends medium-sized dog. As we got to the curb I noticed two dogs walking across the street. I was surprised to see two apparently unaccompanied dogs, when both of them suddenly stopped dead in their tracks, simply simultaneously turned their heads and stared at me and the dog I was walking. The dog with me stood deathly still staring back, as the two canines, which at the time I thought might be German Shepherds, simultaneously turned their heads back in the direction they were walking, and continued on as though we were too much of a bother. About a minute later I realized, _omg,_ _I_ _think_ _those_ _might_ _have_ _been_ *_coyotes..._*

Waste management company would leave workers in mountains near 118 to collect burned debris and trash where there's walk roads to walk in those mountains which would be scary at night.
