I use the gold claw all by itself, without using vinegar. And still separated the gold quite. Well, the same way you were using it going with a side to side. Motion in the short direction, instead of side to side in the long direction. In the desert with no water, you can use the gold pan like a dry washer using the same method panning dry.
Is it possible that it was black gold and the vinegar washed it. Or could it of been attached to lighter host rock that dissolved in the vinegar. Just a thought. 🤔👍🏴⚒️
I suppose anything is possible. I had some lighter material in the test as well. I'm not sure what black gold is...I though "black gold" was oil (think Beverly Hillbillies) :-)
@GetTheGold777 black gold is gold with something coating the surface making it black its only on the surface and gold is unaffected but makes it difficult to find. Check out Dan herd he has some videos sith gold coated in black just looks lik a stone but on the inside is pure gold nugget. ⚒️👍🏴
I see that you're in Maryland I reside in Richmond Virginia I've always been interested in prospecting but have no one here to show me how the ropes is there any way that we can link up and you can teach me how to prospect
Heck no! I prospect and mine for the adventure. It brings me back to being a kid again...looking for buried treasure. :-) I have a full time job like everybody else. Gotta pay the bills!
I was always told to heat it up the ore cracks apart release gold with in you may need to dunk in cold water to really get it to break apart not positive
Interesting question. I looked it up on Google and found, "Their color varies from light-yellow to almost white and brown-yellow. The visible gold grains with size in the range of 3e5 mm also occur. Gold fills the intergrain space in the garnet aggregates. The gold micro-inclusions are also noted in the garnet grains". Food for thought!
I have alot of black sand and it’s shiny like hell 😂 but still i didn’t process it … i will try ur way with vinegar…. I want u to try also charcoal, after burning it u took the ashes then put it in vinegar for 2 hours then pan it carefully…. U will see alot of golden particles…
Do you dump the hot ash and cooked gold into the vinegar to shock it, and then let it sit for 2 hours? That's a great idea! Maybe I'll do a video on this. Thanks!
Why not hydrochloric? It would be so much faster to break down the iron sulfide
White vinegar or apple cider vinegar

Thanks for sharing your technique. I’m always up for learning new methods!

It would be interesting to see this same vinegar test using the blue bowl afetrward to see if it worked as well
Hmmmm. Who knows...the blue bowl might even work better. I would classify the concentrates a bit more before trying it out.

I usually go it alone. Look into the Central Virginia Gold Prospectors. They are near you and offer all sorts of outings, training, etc.
Is that amount of gold worth the time and effort? What's it worth?

I've tried the heating method and it works. I wanted to try vinegar because it's less dangerous.
Does it also work with pink or garnet sand?

@@GetTheGold777Ha! I thought I saw micro gold in a piece of (sand sized) garnet this week. Nice to know it's a real possibility!
Das mit dem Essig muss ich mal probieren. Ich bin neugierig, wieviel Gold aus schwarzen Sand gelöst wird !
Sag mir bitte Bescheid, wenn du Gold bekommst. Ich bin neugierig. Danke! Frank
@@GetTheGold777 Ok, das mache ich. Habe ein großes Glas voll schwarzen Sand gesammelt.
