Hi guys..everybody keeps telling me i have to listen to PF with head phones.I have 4 amazing surround speakers connected to my laptop. So it sounds amazing and i hear all the sounds when i'm listening. Being a musician myself,i like to rest my ears after over 20 years of using them in the studio. But you guys are adamant i have to listen on phones..So the phones will have to come out on my next PF Video..😀😀 Cheers guys and thanx for all the love!
If you do get out the phones. Close the curtains, turn off the lights, lay back and listen to "Dark Side of the Moon" from start to finish without a break. You won't regret it. For the very best Pink Floyd song, "Comfortably Numb" from Pulse Live 1994, THE best guitar solo of all time.
People telling you that are thinking you're sitting there listening to glorious music thru a crappy laptop system and missing 90% of the sound. Unless you'll use decent headphones/earphones you'll probably actually be getting a lesser sound than your current rig. You do you bro. You've barely scratched the surface with Floyd btw. "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" (all parts) "Dogs" and "Pigs" will boggle your mind and soul. So far you've avoided the Floyd songs with videos attached I think. KEEP doing so! They're fan made rubbish, just distracting. Great reaction!
Good for you....I'm not sure what some of those commenters were thinking, and frankly it's none of their business. Sadly, even the best equipment can only go so far with today's compressed music. Since I qualify as a geezer, I have had years to acquire some truly excellent gear (including Klipsh main speakers and subs, and a Bang & Olufsen turntable to spin one of my 1000+ vinyls) when I'm really in the mood for a physical, as well as auditory, experience (something headphones will never be able to recreate).
Time was the song off the Dark Side of the Moon album just before Great Gig in the Sky. The songs all lead into each other with no real time between them.
Beautiful song. The whole album is a masterpiece. Stayed in billboard top 200 albums for a crazy length. Maybe about 15 years or something. An audio engineered piece of art. So glad you are enjoying your pink floyd discovery. Needless to say, my favorite group hands down
No band - past, present, or future - can capture the full range of human emotion sonically like PF. They have consistently managed to convey all levels of the human condition, from joy to sorrow, and all emotions in between. Enjoy your journey - but although many have called it a "rabbit hole", I think of Pink Floyd as a mine shaft to be explored over and over, with each new trip discovering something you missed before.
I used to go to sleep to Dark Side of the Moon every night with my record player. It had the option to flip the album and then shut off. I rarely heard it transition! I think you experience PF as much as hear it! Thanks Harry!
This song is definitely a classic. Italian writer Italo Calvino explains what exactly is meant by the term "classical work", and offers this definition: "A classic is a work that has never finished saying what it has to say" And this song has definitely never finished saying what it has to say.
Have a cigar Great gig in the sky Astronomy Domine Echoes is greatly over missed by lots of people and the original footage of them in Pompeii 1971 is out of this world
If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times...when you world turns to shit and you've had a crappy day, you come home, pour a scotch (or similar), or glass of red, drink that offing it down. Then, pour another, woof that down too, then pour a third one and go turn off all the lights. Put This, or any Pink Floyd record on. Go find a bean bag or deep leather couch, put your headphones on and sink down into your chair, close your eyes, sip away the final drink, and let the music sooth your soul !!! You REALLY DO need to listen to this record in its entirety all the way through without stopping. It’s such a SONIC experience!!! The thematic progress is fantastic as well, combined with the lyrical content...Just awesome!!!
What a beautiful energy it is you are radiating. I feel inspired by watching and listening to you, Harri. Pink Floyd is the medium. And what a medium it is. Unrivalled.
Wise words, my friend. :) As a 66-year-old Londoner who went to see this debuted @ Earls Court, West London in 1973 with 18,000 others (COST £1 ).. I have to concur that the last 48 years have flown by, especially the years since 1981 when I entered The Gambling Industry. When I semi-retired from it in 2017 it felt that I was coming out of a 37-year-old coma. Now I have a 66-year-old body and though very lucky healthwise, weariness is just starting to creep in like me crashing out for 3 hours just now hence being wide awake in London @ 3 am which it is now :). 4 years ago I used to do a 9 mile Country Walk involving 14 Hills. In the summer THAT will be the test of how my fitness is circa 2021. Good Luck!
Oh my Jeez! 48 what???? You made that sound like 48 hrs! 😪😪 But you know what? You can still do it all..its a mental thing.I have seen 80 year old guys do amazing things physically. You are still very young😀😀 if you are in London, lets go for a walk one day 😀
Hello, My Friend.Of Course, you are right! I know an 80-year-old genuinely bemoaning the fact that he can not see his new, potential, Ladyfriend, who he met on a visit to The USA and, desperately, wants to fly out yo there. :) Another Guy is 91 soon and still seems fine mentally and ok, physically. He was a City Broker many moons ago. It IS , usually, psychological. You are correct IMO. I used to live and was born just a couple of miles from Brixton and Peckham and now moved just 12 miles away to the very periphery where I have been since 9/5/83. The date is indelibly imprinted on me as it changed my life but I do still miss The vibe and stimulation from living in the heart of London. I was only 3 miles the other way from THe West End and the City of London. We had 34 different Bus Routes within a 3-mile radius. haha Only been back once (edited to say LAST YEAR !!! Been back hundreds of times ! ) but when things change I like your idea HRC. Are you Southside? Good Luck for the future and with your Channel m8. ps: My best advice. 1/ As you alluded to: Seize every opportunity as people and situations change quickly and the chance is not always still there and 2/ KEEP A DIARY.....Just a few brief notes a day. My best mate died suddenly 6 years ago and we went out socially in London b4 he married around 3,000 times and although my memory is very good there are still some memory gaps that no-one can fill like, for example, "Did we see Focus at Croydon or did we not go " " Did we visit Mansfield FC" following our team from Carlisle down to Plymouth and 84 Grounds in-between" " What was the name of that Lady from St.Vincent that I saw for a while 25 years ago" etc...:)
If you think this is a mind trip (and it most certainly is), just wait until you hear Welcome To The Machine (with either a 'quality' stereo-surround system or great headphones - best yet do both and see if there's a difference!), then on to Echoes...you will never be the same!! Their lyrics are so apt - especially with this album! Wonderful reaction & analysis! Cheers.
Now imagine this Song transitioning into "The Great Gig In The Sky". At least now you can listen to them together. You might as well do Breathe, skip On The Run, and do side two. Then you can sit back, relax, and listen to the entire album with all the seamless transitions. Can't wait to see you do "Dogs" I can remember my older brother taking me to the record store to get this album the day it hit the record stores, every teenager, and young adult in the US was doing the same thing that day. We listened on His High End Quad System LOUD, and this MASTERPIECE was woven into my Soul, from that moment. Just like the first time I listened to "Close To The Edge" by YES. There are many albums from this time period that contain all Great Songs. That was the Highest level of achievement back then to have a Perfect Album, obviously, but it was surprising to have so many in a decade, and a half.
...and "Time", put's life into perspective!!! You will forever be thrilled to have found Pink Floyd!!!😁✌😎 I worked 12-16hr days for years and for the most part, enjoyed it (glad I don't, now). The rest of my time was spent working on my house and going to concerts, many concerts!!!!👌✌😎
You need a base driver too! PF concerts are awesome!! Had the good fortune to see them twice. The wall tour was the most incredible sound I"ve ever ever heard at a concert.
An interesting note right after they finished recording Dark Side of the Moon Rodger Waters had his wife listen to the album the entire album. When she was done listening he asked her "what do you think"? She didn't say anything and tears started to run down her face. All she could do was cry for the first few minutes before she could say anything. Rodger said he thought that might be a good sign. I think he was right! Dark Side of the Moon went on to stay on the billboard 200 charts for 741 straight weeks and has been on and off approaching a thousand weeks! That's called Longevity... Please try headphones!
Helene here....Hi Harry! Love your reaction to this! The “Holy Grail” that you’re working towards.....we know it but you don’t know it yet....is Echoes. Echoes can be a spiritual experience....for real. Some are suggesting that you go there immediately. I would suggest that you get several more Floyd songs under your belt (after all, ALL of Dark Side of the Moon, and Wish You Were Here should be covered) and then hit it. It is the entire side of the album Meddle and is a trip. Other Floyd songs that carry a powerful punch, in my opinion, are Sorrow, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, and High Hopes.
Harri Great reaction. Time/home again wonderful Pink Floyd songs. You don’t need drugs to enjoy Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd is the drug. Promise me after you react to the songs on Darkside of the moon you will put on a pair of headphones totally relax and listen to the whole album. Life changing experience! I went to a Roger Waters concert back in 2017 with my husband and daughter. I smoke neither one of them do. My 23-year-old daughter said it was a life-changing experience and the best concert she has ever been to. Keep up the good work.❤️😀👍❤️✌️🌼
Boy, that's no joke, is it? I'm almost 67, so right behind you there, Char Canuck. Time means something quite different today than it ever has. My peers have been dropping like flies and I know that one of these times, I'll be the fly. Death itself, I'm going to fight it tooth & nail, yet that is not what concerns me most, what does concern me the most is I'm afraid that I won't be prepared to go when Death comes. What I mean by that is that I'm afraid that I won't have everything in order, before I go? Weird Huh? But it does concern me, even relatively trivial things, like when do I delete all of the porn from my computer? Which is really stupid because when I die, I'm not going to give two shits about that stuff, ya know? Anyway keep your Spirits up and hang in there knowing that you are not alone. Remain Well and reasonably Happy too. Keep Smiling... Cheers...
I'm trying to catch up Harri on these vids you had out before I subbed. But great ones indeed. Like you. I love music. I was raised on a farm. And we were not allowed alot of television. But the radio we were never stopped on. So I built a ton of drag car models. And listened to the radio. God Bless you and yours sir. Take care.
Great words of wisdom, Harri, regarding time itself! Way down somewhere near the bottom of your extensive list of song requests, speaking of Time, when you have some please consider doing a reaction to Time Has Come Today by the Chambers Brothers!
Time... I actually was fortunate, in that I figured out for myself that "Time" is in fact every Human Being's greatest valuable asset, bar none! I must have been in my late 20's when I realized this and all of my Friends & Lovers thought that I was Nuts?! I wonder how they feel about that Time now? Seriously though Harri, it was so important to me that I went to a Jeweler with two wrist watches and paid him to dismantle both of them and simply return all of the parts to me, which he did for me. Next I took all of those parts, the gears, hands, etc. to a Custom Leather Clothier and explained what I wanted and thankfully he understood what and why I wanted this done. About three weeks later it was complete. He had made me a Belt Buckle with all of the wrist watches guts suspended in clear resin! It was exactly what I wanted and the way that he did this it was actually tasteful when he was done. Well, today I am 66 years old and I still have my Time Belt Buckle too. Boy, Time means more to me now than it ever has. Something else I came to understand about Time is that Time is actually what gives Life value... the lack of it, even more so. Think about it for a minute... without Death, or the lack of Time, Life would have no real value, but because Time is finite and will run out, at some point, for all of us and when it does, I'll bet every one of us would like to have back all of the Time that we wasted in our youth. Another thing I did, that may interest you Harri, is I actually did some research, regarding people as they lay on their Death Bed, what was it that most seemed to regret in their lives and here's what I found: Almost no one regretted the things that they did in Life, but rather they regretted the things that they had Not done. Let me say this too: No One, not a single dying person said that they regretted Not Working more. I wish that everyone knew this. Now of the things that these people did regret, was they regretted not spending more time With Family, Friends and Loved ones. then it was Not Sharing more of what they had in Life with those less fortunate and not helping those in need more. Truth Bomb here. So there, I saved you some research Harri. I apologize that this is so long. Relax Harri, all is well and whether you know this or not, The universe is undoubtedly unfolding just as it should, even without my help... or yours either. Keep Smiling... Cheers Harri...
Harri your channel is excellent. You are BY FAR the best music reactor I have seen on TH-cam. You understand the vibe man you are intelligent and interesting. I'm a 65 year old man. I still have the an original Pink Floyd, DSOTM vinyl album, stickers an all. Your interpretation of their music and understanding is spot on in my opinion. I give you ultimate praise for a man decades younger than myself you have nailed the essence and appreciation of what PF music is all about.. Peace and love my man 🙏 Aden.
@@HarriBestReactions Thank you Harri... You fully deserve the praise. For you to get under the skin of the music as you do is truly inspiring.. I enjoy the discourse very much. You have great insight and intuition. It would be great to chat with you more..we are all fragile souls in a sometimes harsh world.. Our love of music prevails through even so and heals are hearts and our souls.. Have a blessed day brother 🙏
Hi Harri, enjoying you getting into PF. Did you realise that you just heard two tracks there?. Breathe Reprise starts immediately after '..thought I'd something more to say..'. The whole Dark Side album is really one long track, multiple transitions into each other. I hope you listen to the whole album in one go to enjoy it all in context, plus headphones as it was mixed with them in mind - 70's youth listening late into the night on headphones... :). Trust me, they'll enhance the richness of the sound.
@@HarriBestReactions Their previous album Meddle has a precursor for DSOTM on Side B , the track Echoes takes up the entire side of the vinyl album. Unheard of in its day. You should do that if you've not heard it. Studio version first, then take a look at their classic Live in Pompeii version which they perform in the Pompeii amphitheatre. David Gilmour returned there recently.
Harri... I recommend you look up the lyrics of this song. They are really quite compelling. Incredibly wise for young men in their early 20’s. Much love to you, Sir! 😁
Having attended a couple of their concerts in '87 and '94 I can attest to the the general stonage of the audience. Having never smoked the stuff this is probably as close as I've ever gotten to a contact high. And if you didn't bring anything with ya, don't worry... there's plenty of sharing going around up and down the aisles. I'm horrified to see that you haven't been wearing headphones. Pink Floyd is a sonic experience. You're going to have to listen to these songs all over again!! You haven't really heard them. Check out "Hey You" from 'The Wall' next. 🎧🎧🎧
Harri..... You really need to try PF through headphones / earbuds the panning effects and subtle enhancements in the background take it to an even higher level. You don't need any drugs to enjoy PF but to really enjoy drugs you do need PF😉
Headphones are great (depending on quality), but they lack the physical presence of vibrations and subsonics that come with proper full-range speakers that fill a room with sensations beyond just sound. I am fortunate enough to have over 1000 pieces of vinyl, and the equipment to enjoy music uncompressed.
Each piece of PF music is but a part of a river that ultimately must be listened to as such. To do them, yourself, and your followers justice,I explore you to take a chance and do their albums from beginning to end!-that's just how it is mate!.
I was lucky enough to get to see Pink Floyd at Madison Square Garden 7/4/1977 and I just to let you know that it's not totally about drugs. There may have been people there smoking grass or whatever but this music is on a much higher level than that.
well, arguably their bandfounder was one of the biggest drug-users ever ... but that´s why he was out of the game after a couple of years. as for the rest: yes, not much drug-use known.
You should listen to Dark Side of the Moon as one piece. In 2023 this album will be 50yo and is as relevant today as it was then, even more so I think. Also i would suggest you listen to Shine on you crazy diamond, but before you do read the story as to why it was written.
Helene here: Harry...could you PLEASE do the Pulse version of Comfortably Numb? I think pretty much everyone suggested that to you after your audio reaction.....and speaking for everyone, I hope that you WILL do it! And as many have also said....you REALLY need headphones or earbuds for Floyd......to get the full effect.....especially of the bass and synths.....
a new subscriber 😎👍 next one from Pink Floyd - Coming back to life ( live Pulse 1994 ) or High Hopes ( live Pulse 1994 ) .. or Run like Hell ( Pulse 1994 )
I saw them at a stadium show in Foxborough, MA (south of Boston) in 1988. When the giant inflatable pig (with testicles) flew over the crowd it was engulfed in a cloud of marijuana smoke.
Was it the 6 or 8 of May 1988? Here is the setlist for the May 8 1988 concert. www.setlist.fm/setlist/pink-floyd/1988/sullivan-stadium-foxborough-ma-bd7cdce.html
@@HarriBestReactions Hi Harri Thank again, You have kept me going through lockdown with your honest reactions the best on this channel . the most played song by Tom Jones at funeral's in Wales The green green grass of home. Roger Waters Pink Floyd still tour…saw them in 2017, they’ll be back in 2022. Covid made them break touring, but check them out when they come back. You won’t be sorry. 😊
The number one stereotyping of Pink Floyd is their music is for stoners. This may have been in the late 60’s when they were making psychedelic music that you could get high to but I can tell you they made a variety of music. Technically, you could get high to their 70’s stuff as well but not all songs are geared for that. Like the Beatles, they also made really nice music that was crafted beautifully. Try Wot’s... Uh The Deal (1972) to get an idea what I’m talking about. They are ultimately more diverse than the Beatles. I should know.. I’ve heard all the music both bands have produced.

Cheers...
I think I was 12 or 13 listening to this album. Imagine being just a kid and being hit with these themes. Not to mention the amazing music!
There is an emotional investment in their music.
Damn right!
Ah, but we get so much in return...
Harri, I’m binge watching all your Floyd tonight! Rang in the new year (2022) with you! Greetings from Illinois!
Take care.
Another ecstatic solo by the almighty David Gilmour, the build-up of this song, the lyrics, what a song, what an album, what a band 🎸🎤🎹🥁🎵🤘
Truth brother! 👍🏼😉
Time is amazing.
C.P.
I really enjoy watching your reactions. I think you’re one of the best out there!
Peace and love my man 🙏
Aden.
Thank you sir for the kind words.I feel very humbled by this.Thank you once again and thanks for your support.

Thank you Harri...
:). Trust me, they'll enhance the richness of the sound.
i did read that the tracks melt into each other from comments
@@HarriBestReactions Their previous album Meddle has a precursor for DSOTM on Side B , the track Echoes takes up the entire side of the vinyl album. Unheard of in its day. You should do that if you've not heard it. Studio version first, then take a look at their classic Live in Pompeii version which they perform in the Pompeii amphitheatre. David Gilmour returned there recently.
Harri... I recommend you look up the lyrics of this song. They are really quite compelling. Incredibly wise for young men in their early 20’s.
Much love to you, Sir! 😁
Thanx Kyle..Are you suggesting im in my early 20s? Cos if so,i love you! 😀😀
hahahah flying high with the Floyds
But to really enjoy drugs you need PF😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Echoes studio...crazy...
👍...but also by live at Pompeii !
Spot on pal
At the concerts the vibrations were awesome .(Did 3 and some Roger Waters also) religious hemp aided experience.
Each piece of PF music is but a part of a river that ultimately must be listened to as such.
To do them, yourself, and your followers justice,I explore you to take a chance and do their albums from beginning to end!-that's just how it is mate!.
Comfortably Numb, leaves you comfortably Numb!!!😉😎
Pink Floyd - "Dogs"
MAN! Only Pink Floyd! Hear how they transpose ""Time"" within this track """F---ing Incredible!"""Xxx.
I was lucky enough to get to see Pink Floyd at Madison Square Garden 7/4/1977 and I just to let you know that it's not totally about drugs. There may have been people there smoking grass or whatever but this music is on a much higher level than that.
i didnt mean the weed in a bad way though..just talking about the chill out mood. And many will.argue weed is not a drug 😀
@@HarriBestReactions : okay...I forgot to say thanks for doing this reaction
You do not need drugs the music is the trip. Listen to albums beginning to end you will not regret it.
Enjoy your travels thru the Rabbit hole
Pink Floyd were never known for being drug users unlike so many bands of the time, their fans however is a completely different matter
well, arguably their bandfounder was one of the biggest drug-users ever ... but that´s why he was out of the game after a couple of years. as for the rest: yes, not much drug-use known.
Syds chemist mates did a mad job on him
We called them “Marley’s” back in the day!
You should listen to Dark Side of the Moon as one piece. In 2023 this album will be 50yo and is as relevant today as it was then, even more so I think. Also i would suggest you listen to Shine on you crazy diamond, but before you do read the story as to why it was written.
Okay, Harry. You're ready for Echoes (studio version first) and close yours eyes. And earphones are a must.
Cant wait to do these Echoes you guys keep talking about😀
Listen to a Saucer full of secrets by pink floyd
I'm getting to end of my time and I know I'm realising that each year it gets closer
Helene here: Harry...could you PLEASE do the Pulse version of Comfortably Numb? I think pretty much everyone suggested that to you after your audio reaction.....and speaking for everyone, I hope that you WILL do it! And as many have also said....you REALLY need headphones or earbuds for Floyd......to get the full effect.....especially of the bass and synths.....
im on it sir!
Headphones!
Brother please listen too comfortably numb live at pulse, you will experience the out of body experience there haha, bring the spliff!
Clearly Harri has been bitten by the Pink Floyd bug... there is no cure.
hahahahha
Near the end we regret the things we didn't do not the things we did
Yes it did
a new subscriber 😎👍 next one from Pink Floyd - Coming back to life ( live Pulse 1994 ) or High Hopes ( live Pulse 1994 ) .. or Run like Hell ( Pulse 1994 )
Welcome Gerry..Nice last name 😀
@@HarriBestReactions 😎👍
I saw them at a stadium show in Foxborough, MA (south of Boston) in 1988. When the giant inflatable pig (with testicles) flew over the crowd it was engulfed in a cloud of marijuana smoke.
Was it the 6 or 8 of May 1988? Here is the setlist for the May 8 1988 concert.

Hell, if you don't feel tardy, forget about it. Just have a seat and enjoy...
Roger Waters Pink Floyd still tour…saw them in 2017, they’ll be back in 2022. Covid made them break touring, but check them out when they come back. You won’t be sorry. 😊
Alter Bridge- Watch Your Words
The number one stereotyping of Pink Floyd is their music is for stoners. This may have been in the late 60’s when they were making psychedelic music that you could get high to but I can tell you they made a variety of music. Technically, you could get high to their 70’s stuff as well but not all songs are geared for that. Like the Beatles, they also made really nice music that was crafted beautifully. Try Wot’s... Uh The Deal (1972) to get an idea what I’m talking about. They are ultimately more diverse than the Beatles. I should know.. I’ve heard all the music both bands have produced.
its understandable that not everyone will get high..Justike at a Reggae concert😀
You should react to River's of babylon by Boney M.
I love the reactions. Please keep doing the non-video versions of the songs (they're all garbage)!
Thanx Jayo
Have you ever seen the video for Not Now John? I really love that one.
You need some iron maiden in your life
STONED??? I've seen Pink Floyd four times........the music does it. Not being "stoned." That was a dumb statement.
