  • Ever since I upgraded Pascals cage, I was never fully happy with it. I always struggled with getting it to a point where I really loved how it looked, so I decided I need to do a big cage makeover! Ever since I did this makeover, I’ve been loving the cage a lot more (and so is Pascal) so I figured I would film an update video for you guys and give you a cage tour!

    You could have built shelves or stands at various heights to accommodate more plants to fill in the space where desiredwithout them needng to be 6 ft tall

    Hello, I have a yemen chameleon. He’s about 7 months old and I have had him since He was about 1 month, when we first got him he had a large glass vivarium but after a few months we noticed he started getting really stressed and irritated and he was going to the bottom corner of the vivarium with a horrible brown colour and didn’t wanna come out his cage as he would run and that was weird cause he always wanted to come out and would literally tap on the glass to come out his vivarium. So we bought him a new vivarium which was a large mesh vivarium and we decorated it was mini ladders and lots of real live plants. He was doing fine but obviously went through that horrible teenager stage where he would puff up when we would let him out. But about 6 months in hes more chill now. But now it’s turning to winter (I live in England) and we can not keep the humidity up. So we bought a self mister and it still wasnt working. I sprayed the vivarium about 30 minutes ago and it’s already gone down to 27% which is really bad as it’s meant to be above 40% so we used a misting bottle and its actually working a tiny bit more but it’s still not enough. But when he’s in his vivarium he’s a darkish green colour but when he’s out his a really pretty bright colour but he isn’t acting weird. Can Someone please help me?

    can you do a video on all the live plants you’re using in this cage because i’m gonna be building a cage for my veiled (who’s name is also Pascal, bc of his previous owners) as well and i’ll need a bunch of new love plants

  • @duybear4023

    Huh, I'm into aquascaping so I'm very familiar with growing plants in the aquarium for fishes and shrimps to live in. Never seriously thought about it for land animals.

    Fun Fact: pothos are actually mildly poisonous but it doesn’t seem affect Veiled Chameleons in any drastic way, broken pathos release Oxalate crystals (we as reptile keepers know the struggle of oxalates in diets already lol) these crystals penetrate the skin and cause mild irritation, this may be why Pascal doesn’t go after his pothos very aggressively
    BTW I love the redesign of Pascals cage the fake plants really help fill everything in!!
    What’s the feeding dish you use originally intended for? I’m looking for something like it for my soon to be panther chameleon. (Oops didn’t wait till the end of the video)

    How did u hold the vines in place...what do use in order for the vines and plants to attach to the enclosure plz help I need ideas and recommendations❤️

      I don’t know how she personally does it but I use twisty ties because they fit perfectly through the screen. I am building a new enclosure for my Jackson Chameleon and future Panther Chameleon so I might need to find a new way depending on the screen I end up getting but the one I have currently I use twisty ties through the screen to hold up my vines and plants.

    Hi you have probably seen my comments before and I want to let you know that I have done tons of research since. I am still thinking about getting a veiled chameleon. I have some questions,how did you budget your money while buying the appropriate stuff for your Cham. Do you recommend horn worms as treats? What supplements do you use? What cage do you have? What is the best advice you have for new chameleon owners

    • @EmmaLynneSampson
      @EmmaLynneSampson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For a veiled chameleon I would recommend getting the XL Reptibreeze enclosure! You can buy it from amazon, or many pet stores. Just make sure it is the XL as the other sizes are too small. Hornworms make excellent treats if your chameleon likes them! As for supplements, I would recommend supplementing every feeding with calcium WITHOUT D3 and then 1-2 times per month, use reptivite with D3
      I pretty recently filmed an updated “watch this before getting a chameleon” video that I would recommend checking out if you haven’t already!

    This may be a stupid question, I’m just curious, I have heard if you have too much foliage & a lot of hiding spots it makes it hard for your chameleon to find food and eat, if it’s true how do you avoid this problem?❤️ thank you in advanced !

    • @EmmaLynneSampson
      @EmmaLynneSampson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it’s not at all true. Chameleons have incredible eyesight, they will find their food with no issue at all. Having lots of folliage is best as it helps them feel secure and will help create micro climates
