Hi! It is amazing idea of showing Brazilian percussion nstruments, although it is not a Samba. It ´s a olodum axé rhythm (from right where I live and born) and there are some instruments playing in the maindbeat instead of backbeat (like the right side "Surdo dobrado"). I loved it, anyway.
Thanks for the extra info!! Is it the playing of the main beat by the surdo that makes this not sound like samba? Are there samba styles that accent both the main beats and the backbeats (i.e. all 4 beats)
So totally awesome. Although not exactly what i am searching for. There is an instrument that is like a whistle or a "sounds like a wind or wood" instrument that accentuates the downbeat highlights. I hope you understand. Hooo, Hooo, Hiii, Hiii.may be a very well tuned gogo bell. I am still searching
It's called Cuíca. It isn't a bell, its sound is created by rubbing a piece of leather or cloth against a wooden bar inserted in a special drum. If youre interested in samba, know that this video is not even samba, it's a northeastern drum pattern called 'olodum'. I suggest you to search for 'Fantástica Bateria volume 1 (1975)', a far more accurate example of a samba 'bateria', with some cuíca spice.
the whole problem is that it is actualy impossible to sistematicly write down the samba rythm I guess. So trying to play samba with notes wont sound right. that's why they say you need to feel the rythm......or in easier words, you learn it by accompanying (hearing) others who play it. that's why every samba school also has their caracteristic rythm....there is not realy the correct rythm, but there is a wrong rythm lol
@@anissiaart6167 there is "cadence" though lol. but the point was to understand the notion of a rythm that is more felt, then mecanic . this "imperfaction" in a music theoretic sence would be the "cadência"
I get where you are coming from, I really do! This video, however, is a great resource for teachers. This is a really good video to demonstrate to people who have no idea how to even get into samba, what it takes to play something similar to real samba. As I think you already know, Samba requires an incredible and unique feel and intimate knowledge of each instrument. I don’t take any music lightly but I think you might have missed the point on this one. This is an excellent resource.
É solo una demonstração de cada instrumento e uma dinâmica de como toca , pero têm que ter intimidade com os instrumento .Sou brasileiro e el vídeo é muito bom
The afro foundation of this rhythm is so strong 💪🏾.. Proud

We get it, it's not samba... But then again, I think the idea was to show the percussion instruments used in samba, even if they're not playing samba.
This is a Samba Reggae Arrangement!

Looks like they are all Meinl Percussion instruments - you can google their website and go from there. IMO they make decent instruments.
