When I was a kid (A VERY LONG time ago 😂) my dad would put copper sulfate down the pipes as the last thing just before we left on our yearly vacation. He always said if you gave it a week to sit in the pipe and work it would eat up the roots. Even though we had tons of shrubs and a huge apple tree we never had roots in the plumbing. They've had that house since 1967 and never had a problem with roots (knock on wood lol) so I think he was on to something. 😊❤

Nothing like Gavin the man! Roots run and paper blockages are washed away. In the South (Louisiana) they are called the outhouse. One thing some used to do, was move the outhouse and get someone you did not like to chase you and let them fall in the hole. Of course, once they left to clean up, the outhouse was returned to its original place. Great job on the broken sewer line. You are amazing!

There should be some sort of clear pipe fixture that would fit over (and inside) the toilet hole. Like you do with the mat thing you use outside. It would have a hole in the top for the hose to fit thru and then screw on the nozzle. Then you could kinda see what is happening in there plus keep the water in the pipe.
