I'm learning how to make a sweet potato pie. This is the first recipe I've seen that did not call for milk of some kind. Would have loved to see a slice of the finished product. It is a beautiful pie.
@jacquelinelee9223 I actually came up with this recipe for a lactose intolerant family member and when other family members tasted the pie they couldn't believe that it didn't contain milk and of those family members was my 92 year old mother... she said that it was better than hers and the family ( quietly ) agreed lol.. it's funny but I just made another pie two days ago to go with a Thanksgiving turkey video that I posted yesterday and have one slice left in the pan... lol

YOU DIDN'T CUT THE PIE. I WOULD'VE LOVED TO SEE THE RESULTS OF THE BOTTOM CRUST WITH THE BUTTER AND BROWN SUGAR. WAS THE BOTTOM CRUST SOGGY OR FIRM? HOW DID THE PIE COME TOGETHER ON A FORK ONLY USING 1 EGG? I CAN'T TRY UNTIL I CAN SEE A GOOD VISUAL, BUT THANKS FOR SHARING
@JACKIELVSGOD the bottom was firm because I baked it prior to adding the filling. And I tend to bake my crust a few extra minutes to insure that I don't have a soggy crust....
@r.gordontrueblood3188 you have eggs. I don't use milk or heavy cream.. now in the past I did add heavy cream I simply omitted an egg and replaced it with 3 tablespoons of the cream... I didn't care for it as much and you have to be careful not to make your filling too thin....

If I use the food processor can I still add condensed milk and evaporated milk to the recipe.

@JACKIELVSGOD my pie comes together just fine I used one egg because one I like a dense batter because I use regular not deep dish pie shells....

There is no liquid ingredient (i.e, milk) in this recipe. Does it need milk???
