I’m a boomer (76) that had an illegal abortion in 1966 (PRE Roe v Wade) and I’m appalled at supposed “professional” doctors putting their license above these women’s lives. And I promise there’s thousands more. What if you’re pregnant now? It’s scary enough being pregnant and praying nothing goes wrong. I could tell you stories from the 50’s & 60’s you just would NOT believe. Unimaginable. Not enough room here. I had no anesthesia and the doctor wanted to “party” with me the night before. I declined and he still did it for $500 cash back then. Thankfully my mother wouldn’t hear of me going alone. I had a healthy daughter years later and even though this doctor was an opportunist, I thank him every day as I watch this fiasco. She’s now 52. My heart breaks for the loss of potential of these women, their kids, their families. 💔

I just wrote that these doctors are cowards and they must defy this insanity instead of standing around watching women die over 20 hours when it was obvious from the moment she walked into that hospital that she had an infection that WOULD end in her death if not treated immediately. Sepsis (infection) is treated by getting rid of the source of the infection. The deceased fetus was the source of the infection. Her family should be able to pursue legal actions for this. I gave birth to 3 children, now all with partners and so far choosing not to have their own children. I am fine with them making their own decisions and respect them. I also left an abusive husband and am content in my free and single status. I spent a career helping women in labor and have seen the joy of birth and the tragic loss of a still born. Women are the ones who most often care for the next generation, by birth, adoption, foster parenting, step parenting... I gave birth to 3 children, now all with partners and so far choosing not to have their own children. I am fine with them making their own decisions and respect them. I also left an abusive husband and am content in my free and single status. I spent a career helping women in labor and have seen the joy of birth and the tragic loss of a still born. Women are the ones who most often care for the next generation, by birth, adoption, foster parenting, step parenting... It is very clear that the "prolife" version coming from the GOP does not concern itself with the loss of women needing health care.

Doctors take an oath to do no harm! Did they break the law or use the law to not treat? Because I can’t get past the knowledge that they knew the pregnancy wasn’t viable, which means there wasn’t a living baby to abort because the fetal tissue has broken down to the point that it was poisoning the mother which was documented when she got to the hospital and they knowingly watched her slowly die before attempting to intervene.
What is happening to women is horrifying, predictable and preventable. So it makes it even more 🤯 (if that is possible) that the race is so close.

What happens when a mother delivers twins and due to Preeclampsia and a hyper extended uterus could bleed out if she doesn’t get a D&C? I wonder cuz 30 years ago that happened to me. I was bleeding to death, had crazy elevated blood pressure and there was a short delay due to being in a catholic hospital and waiting for my Dr to return. My husband at the time thought for sure he was going to raise 3 kids alone. If the Dr had been a Georgia Dr, would he have let me die?
I was divorced with two small children when I met my husband. My ex never visited the kids or paid child support. Six months after we were married my husband adopted them.
