Maybe with this style of plug. But a regular plug will last the life of the tire and then some. Trust me. Here in NY there’s MILLIONS of cars on the road with MILLIONS of these plugs in them. I once removed a tire and there was 6 plugs I can see from the inside I was dying laughing. It just looked weird.

@@vladimirgoryathev2551 Есть сомнение, что в европе у среднестатистического водителя есть насос в багажнике. Вот им и кажется, что ситуация безвыходная. У нас же просто без всяких заглушек накачиваешь колесо, находишь место прокола (не всегда гвоздь/саморез остается в покрышке) и ставишь жгут, если он есть с собой (у меня набор лежит на всякий случай). Если нет, то накаченная покрышка все равно будет спускать достаточно времени, чтобы доехать до шиномонтажа.
А в чем проблема накачать колесо с проколом и запихать туда жгут?
У меня лет 7 назад были уже старые сухие покрышки, купил в магазине похожий комплект за 2$. Каждый день чинил, пока новые покрышки не купил

Others have said it but this is good for a quick fix. It'll get you rolling but it's still a good idea to have the tire patched eventually.
Looks like the guy didn't remove the adhesive cover strips from the plug itself. Also if you want to buy a plug kit get the kind with the T shaped handles on the tools because it makes the work so much easier.
normally there are no covers bc you chemically smelt the two pieces togrther. at least thats what we have in switzerland. its called vulcanizing and has nothing to do with adhesive😅

Assuming an ounce of logic, I'd say they left the tape on to make removing the plug easier so they can fix the tire properly, but having assumed logic I'd have used an old tire and done the video repair properly. So ... I don't know.
The adhesive covers are BLACK...pause the video at the point where the covers are removed from the box...it's not that hard...

I did this with the cheap version of this kit. It lasted for 5 years. It should probably be repaired from the inside. But it’ll do short term.
I used to repair small holes in my ATV tires like this , I didn't want to buy a kit like this so I used a some rubber from a bicycle inner tube, some screwdrivers and glue for shoes😂. The punctured tires lasted for several months and a lot of burnouts and drifts before I changed them to sell it

I will say this, I drove with this patch all the time until it was time to change the wheels from wear.Conclusion: if everything is done correctly, this patch will last forever.

Я когда подобной штукой пользовался у меня не получалось так легко драконить прокол этим подобием надфиля, он цепляется за корд мёртвой хваткой, но если подспустить шину, гораздо проще идёт.

NEVER DO THIS WITH YOUR TIRES. Better get to the closest repair station and glue it from behind in a proper way.
It was invented to be easy to use. for use in urgent cases for temporary use and it's cheap. So you can carry it in your car Just a few tools with a portable air pump. Filing a small hole doesn't cause much damage to the inside wire. If you convenient or if it leaks again in the same spot, you can take the car to a garage to permanently seal the leak.

It’s a perfectly reasonable repair through the tyre belt. Sadly it’s often used on the shoulder which is not safe as the rubber can tear.
Here is Brazil is very common to fix a tire like that. There are other ways to repair a puncture but that's the first option.

If you're going to use tire plugs you want to trim and flush with a razor this will prevent them from getting pulled out as you turn and drive this is particularly true you have a vehicle who's wheels might be out of alignment to puts a lot of side stress on tires. The method that he used works pretty well and also works with the entire plugs that you can buy at Walmart we're just about any automotive store. You are probably going to want to have a small compressor in your vehicle so just buy a regular kit and put it with the compressor.

Having done easily over 100 plugs on tires I have never put glue on the reamer, all you are doing is wasting glue. I have also never used those style of plugs as they are very prone to failure. If the loop comes back through the hole you have used the wrong sized plug and it won't seal properly, it will also allow moisture in and start rusting the steel belts of the tire and then the tire separates and you have a blowout.
