'My father is Castiel'. Jack immediately seeing Cas as his dad is just so wholesome & makes me emotional every time. And we are getting Dean actually mourning Cas. Whether people see it as romantic or platonic, finally seeing how much Dean actually loved Cas and cared for him will always be one of the best parts of this show because a lot of the time we just get emotionally repressed Dean and he doesn't tell Cas how much he means to him, so seeing him openly just mourning his death gets me emotional.
Also Dean's reaction to Cas's death compared to Sam's reaction is completely different. It's a different relationship and the aftermath is heartbreaking to see 😢
Jack is the most wholesome character in a television history, idk if there is a person that hates him. Such an adorable kid Btw pay attention on Dean's behaviour, Cas's death really got him
This whole episode was such an emotional roller coaster. Everything about it was just perfect. Honestly one of the best season premieres since season 4 (Lazarus Rising)
Thank you for telling me that was Thurman Merman! I knew I knew him from somewhere. But it's been decades since I've seen Bad Santa. He DOES look exactly the same! I love how Dean includes Crowley in his prayer & at the pyre. Good opening.
I loved this episode and the introduction to Jack. The opening credits thing is super cool too. I will always remember the scene when Jack was the eating the candy bar and was like I like nougat 😂
I loved how Dean even said bring Crowley back as well! The love/hate relationship they had he missed that even though you would never hear them admit that especially Sam lol
Not saying anything new but Jack is so adorable. He's my second favorite character after Cas. Hopefully your disturbing need for "the nephilim" to be killed is over lol.
It's a good opener. And so we begin the nature vs nurture debate. I do really like this season. A few annoying plot points, but overall really good. I do know what your favorite episode will be this season but no spoilers lol.
I quite enjoyed this season opener. But it's still quite tainted for me by the lackluster deaths in the last finale. When Jack says that Castiel is his father, that his mother said Castiel would keep him safe ... I can't help but think that yeah, that would have broken my heart, IF Cas had gotten a better death, one where he actually chose to sacrifice himself to protect Jack from Lucifer. That would have also added more complexity to Jack's relationship to brothers. Your best friend chose to give his life to protect this kid, surely you got to honour that sacrifice, right? But you also don't know if the kid manipulated him into think it was the right thing to do, using him. That is kinda the situation they are in, but less so than it could have been if Cas got a more fitting send-off. Hell, it would even have been an amazing parallel to the finale of season 4, where Cas holds off Raphael to give Dean a chance to stop Sam, and dies for it. A proper Cas versus Lucifer confrontation could have been amazing. Cas has been compared to Lucifer by Raphael and his loyalists. I don't know if Cas or Lucifer has caused more death and division among the angels. Lucifer seems intrigued by Cas in season 5 "what a peculiar thing you are", and kills him in that season finale, only for God to bring back Cas, and Cas then "does a Lucifer" by leading angels against Heaven. They make such good foils, two rebellious angels with opposing views on humanity, and that could so easily have been utilized here, where they are literally fighting over who should nurture the Nephilim, Lucifer's son, with Cas again "usurping" Lucifer's place.
Jack is the best introduction in this late era of the show. Such a breath of fresh air and has so much potential

Jack is such a cinnamon roll. It's good they make Jack such a smiley boy in the show because Jared and Jensen mess with him so much

Yay for season 13! Jack is a great character and I love how Sam treats him.

So many good moments in this premier, the beginning of Dean's widower arc hahaha and the scene with Jack telling him that Case is his dad.
As always Dean in grief breaks me 💔
It just yanks your heart right out of your chest.

As much as you hate Rufus in Gen-v... You'll love Jack. He's so adorably innocent, you can't help but love him. ^_^

The premiere did its job, I am cautious but interested again. Carry on.
S13 is honestly one of my fav seasons!

For real...half of them are completely oblivious of what they are doing...so annoying!
Jack
I thought this was a good season intro. despite having some of my favorite eps, season 12 was a pretty big let down to me.
It’s Alex Calvert. Not Brett Kelly 🤦♂️
