This hasn’t aged well. Ariane 6 still yet to launch (as of July 2024) and little sign of reusability. I hope things improve soon there is certainly a part to play for ESA.
I agree and this is why I don't believe in the big bang how can a big bang expand like a balloon but yet galaxies crash into each other showing signs of more then 1 big bang which to me means could be thousands of big bangs an to me the big bang is like the Darwin theory and the bible to scientist its all just theory's if the big bang was real everything would expand like a balloon and flying away from everything else which would mean galaxies couldn't hit each other but since they do that would show more then 1
Seems like almost on hour of Europeans justifying that belong in space with the big boys. "Rocket Envy" isn't needed, what they're doing is incredible all in its own.
Wouldn't be better if we all would combined and come together as one to go in space? why do we have to compete with each other all the time? That is what separates us as a world, we are all the same we all live on the same planet and we are all humans. If we were threatened by some other being from space would we still be like this? or would we then unite as one?.
srmhetmketmk Like What? .... I’m waiting, what science has Spacex done, have they launched any missions to Mars, nope, did they map the CMB of the Universe, no, have they been to Venus? No, Have they been to the moon, no, have they landed on Titan, no, Have they got any Mercury missions? Nope, Any missions to Jupiter? Nope, Any missions to measure gravitational waves? Nope, List one thing SpaceX has done in deep space just one
If we really want to achieve something we have to put our differences a side. Space exploration has nothing to do with the USA, Russia, China, Japan, Israel, India or Europe. It is time we work together, only then we will achieve something. The cold war is over, although I do sometimes think that a lot of Americans would love to return to those days. Well sorry the rest of the world doesn't, so grow over it.
I trust the Europeans, mainly Germans for the rocket engine & engineering tech, they are the inventors, had they not become too crazy with wars and anti-semitism they would be a superpower by now, with all that wealth in scientists their power would be unparalleled. Add Britain’s scientists into the mix, plus the other EU nations - I do find it hard for Space X or any other agency to be able to compete. Maybe their only flaw is the fact that Space X is private and ESA is managed by many countries and thus many conflicting interests are involved. With that said, I would trust the pioneers rather than the for profit corporations like Space X only looking to make a quick buck, which btw, is primarily heavily funded by NASA - our tax dollars.
Larger, of cousere only the ESA and the Russians are actually able to bring the larger satelites/objects into the orbit. SpaceX can bring up only very small satelites. The new Ariane 6 is smaller than the giant 5 and can therefore transport smaller objects for a cheaper price. Still 30% more expensive than SpaceX, but the insurance fees are much cheaper (not a single rocket failure) and the insurances for a space start are astronimical - so they are in summary nearly at the same price.
Europe has some excellent science and tech infrastructure, and some bright people. If we (Europe) pulled together, could go punch for punch with SpaceX. The problem is, unless Arianespace goes reusable, SpaceX will ALWAYS have that ace up its sleave to undercut the competition.

so enlightening and inspiring- bravo welt!
Sorry to say , This video looks more like an advertisement for ESA rather than space science documentary
Sorry Welt this doco has already been released a few weeks ago....
I think there were 2 Big Bangs.... one for what we call dark energy and after that one for all the lights and matter.
Actually they were 6 of them.
I don’t know how many !! But one thing I know there was one in my bedroom last night when I did not see my girlfriend for a month! :-)

documentary about building and launching rockets would have been more interesting
Check out Smarter Everyday and his tour of the ULA factory in Decatur with Tory Bruno. 👍
Wow awesome 👏
What is theme song?
a small american company called space x😂😂😂
Space X is still very young and with barely any history, so yes, it is still small.
I mean c'mon
Darth Jajar so I guess the Americans and Australia are small because there is barley a history? Doesn’t work mate.
Darth Jajar lmao you’re salty because an American Company is out doing Europe
Young doesn't mean small
Hey everyone: Europoor is going to space! Their IS masters must have given them permission after all...
Whats really going on in space you,ve got to wonder
Ikr? 👽👹🐙🐍👀

But have they been to the moon?
They could if they want, but for wich reason?
Nope, but the Americans got to the Moon thanks to an European rocket scientist...🤷🏻♂️
Oooweee!!
Why can't Arian be launch from Portugal it is in Europe and it is the the most western country in Europe?
its too far north.. the closer to the equator, the easier and less fuel needed
wow, this hasn't aged well. Poor Europe, SpaceX has already done everything ESA wanted to do.

Ariane is french not european
J'ai peur que tu sois mal informé à ce sujet Tony… Ariane est européenne. Mais je ne vois pas le problème : la France contribue beaucoup à l'ESA!
